Perfect for Music 3 people found this helpfulI am running this DB10 to complement my large B&W bookshelf speakers. Source is a Pro-ject turntable or High-end streaming through a KT-77 vacuum tube amp. The size is perfect for my medium sized room. The fit and finish on this sub is great. I have the Natural Walnut version which has a nice color and grain. The finish is smooth and easy to keep clean. The grill is tight and hides the driver well. The amp on the back has nice knobs that are rubberized and rotate smoothly. Bright white stripes are easy to see. The power LED is nice and bright. The binding posts accept bare wire or spades but I wish they could also accept the popular banana plugs. The feet on this sub is probably the weakest part. They are 4 plastic cones that have no adjustability and no absorption. This is easily solved by putting some pads or dampeners underneath. The sound is tight and reaches down to 35hz which is more than sufficient for musical instruments (only pipe organs, contrabassoons and harps need to go that low). If you are looking to fill a big home theatre with sound effects and explosions that reach down to 20hz then you would move to a 12-15" driver(s) with more power. The DB10 works well with music and small theatres. Overall great performance at this price point. Fluance has set a standard in value of audio products. I challenge you to find a better sub at less than $300 that would beat this for sound and quality.

Tight Bass 2 people found this helpfulI originally owned the 12", but they were recalled. They exchanged them for the 10" and I was pleasantly surprised with the tightness of the bass.
