Sound is smeared and bass is muddy and bloated. Some frequencies missing as well as poor imaging and soundstage. Very disappointing. Not even Lo Fi.

I really do have to say these are the greatest entry level monitors you can find and the price is phenomenal you can’t beat it if you are new to desk speakers studio speakers these are for you... powered plug them in and your ready to jam... I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and they still run great with top quality sound and clarity. I’ve thought about upgrading but just keep putting it off because these are just amazing and I don’t really need anything more. I can’t stress it enough THESE ARE THE BEST ENTRY LEVEL SPEAKERS YOU CAN FIND! If you’ve been hesitating for any reason just buy them trust me! Thank you for an awesome durable reliable product FLUANCE!

Gregory April 8, 2021

I just returned from a very experienced technician who basically told me that my speakers are shot. He said the design of internal amps inside speakers are 'crap'. My speakers were sitting in my credenza for that past year - I broke them out today and they don't even work. The power cuts out due to poor internal construction. I will touch base once I hear back from the manufacturer. I'm very disappointed considering the cost, and the primary reason why I bought them was to support Canadian made.

Killafornia K December 3, 2020

Well they are not too little but the do sound good... I also owned some edifier 1850s.... the edifier was a little bit more clearer, higher highs and bass was good too... these ai60 looks very nice and plays a little bit louder, but lacks a little bit on highs and bass is ok... I do like the fact it has a bass output for subs... if these had the same highs as the edifiers they would be 5 stars, then again some ppl don't like highs that are too high...

Great speaker, excellent sound, quite substancial but a bit bigger than I thought! Thinking the Aio40's for my office my be the perfect size.

Kim E November 15, 2020

My daughter loves the sound and all features. We paired it with the turntable, but she also can listen to other sources with the bluetooth.I think it was a great option to get into a high end sound for a teenager without having to go with an amplifier.Very pleased with the quality and the functionality.

Really enjoy using these speakers, easy setup with striking quality.

I purchased a pair of Fluance Ai60 speakers back in August off of Amazon for usage as TV speakers to replace my old soundbar. My first impressions were very good, they were leagues ahead of the old Samsung soundbar I had, however, a few days later I realized the sound seemed a little muffled. It turns out the left speaker had a tweeter issue, which created muffled sound on the left speaker. After reading a few of the reviews on here, I realized that others have had similar problems, and so I had the speakers returned.

Although this experience was disappointing, I was very pleased with my first impressions and so I decided to give them another shot and I purchased them again, this time directly from Fluance. They arrived within 2 days, and I've been in love with them ever since.

These are now hooked up to my 4k TV, with my turntable hooked up underneath. They produce clear sound, and completely blow the previous sound bar I had out of the water. I'm also happy by the fact that I don't need to blast the TV at loud volumes, as the detail & clarity of these speakers is amazing. Overall, they are exactly what I was looking for, and I'm happy I gave them a second try!

I find myself constantly adjusting the bass. When playing 70s and 80s music, I need to increase the bass but when I listen to new music, the bass is like a sub woofer bass even at minus 5 which I really dislike. I bought those speaker thinking the bass would be crisp but it is muddy. My experience is only based on Bluetooth connection. I wrote in to complain and forgot to mention Bluetooth connection, got a reply for wired connection. Wanted an exchange for AI40 but it hasn't been in stock for a long time. Anyway my wife was after me to get rid of the huge box, so I did and will be keeping the speakers with its issues. Too bad the newer music has so much sub-bass. I have Audio Technica reference headphones and I listened to the same music and had no bass issue. So must be the AI60 dsp pushing too much bass is my final conclusion. Live and learn I guess.

Kevin G September 29, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Great sound, no buzz, strong bass. I got the 6.5" because I wanted to make sure I felt the bass in my bones and let me tell you it's more sound then my neighbors would like. The 5" would've been plenty for my computer/desktop set up but I'm happy with the 6.5"ers.

Adam S September 24, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Simply amazing! Incredible range and bass even in my studio space with 11' ceilings! Crisp and detailed sound at any distance.

Greg O September 22, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Nova Scotia, Canada

The Ai60's are my latest and 3rd Fluance product that I have purchased and as usual they shine just like the others! I am extremely satisfied with these powered speakers and I have them set up in my office.. If you are in the market for powered speakers then look no further and get a pair of the Ai60's

Geo T. September 20, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Good sounding speakers overall with good build quality, easy setup and use. Was very easy to setup the bluetooth and function is great.

Jason H September 17, 2020

These speakers have full time feedback... Always humming. My power plug has a short even though these were plugged in and never moved. The company’s return policy makes returning items extremely difficult.

Ted S September 7, 2020

I was looking for wireless surround speakers (not a sound bar) but couldn't find such a thing. Contacted Fluance and Elac but neither had options that exactly met my need. I have vaulted ceilings so I can't run wire to the surround or rear speakers (maybe an electrician could ($$expensive$$), but I didn't see how I could easily do it after going in the attic). Fronts and center are Elac Debut 2.0 (6.2 series) wired in the wall with banana plug plates. What I did was buy 2 pairs of these (since these are powered- one powers the other and bluetooth).I put the bluetooth 'primary' for the rear where there is a power outlet each side, then ran 14GA banana plug wire (not included- I made them up to length) to the secondary speaker (surround). Used raceway as necessary to hide the speaker wire going from primary to secondary ($15). But it made it much less expensive than calling an electrician.I used a bluetooth Aptx HD transmitter hooked to Left rear (L) and Left Surround (R) line outs on my AV receiver, and a second bluetooth transmitter hooked to Right Rear (L) and Right Surround(R) line outs. The sound is very good to excellent (my opinion) using these bookshelf speakers in my 7.1 Home theater system.Contractors who have come into my home doing other work have been amazed how clear the sound of my setup is. I usually have put on the Rise of Skywalker BluRay to showcase the sound when asked so they can get a good example - haven't heard anyone say it sounds bad, but have had people ask me exactly what I bought to get to this result...

frank p September 4, 2020

These were purchased to replace a set of far more expensive non working Klipsch powered bookshelf speakers and I couldn't be happier. I had my sights on the Ai40's but they were unavailable in the finish (Bamboo/White) I wanted and I am glad I upgraded. Unfortunately for Fluance, I don't need to purchase a sub woofer now as the base response in the Ai60's is excellent. I have them hooked up a custom built PC via the included RCA cable. A tiny complaint was that the hoped for Optical cable wasn't included. Other than that, big thumbs up!

Sean, M September 1, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 4 Years New York, United States

The speakers are definitely not conventional when it comes to setting them up in regards to older speakers to a receiver, but once I figured out the best layout for my personal needs, it was a breeze. The bass is fantastic and the sound quality that these small speakers produce is incredible, especially putting them on opposite sides of my room. Overall, the speakers work incredibly well and as introductory speakers and my first purchase from fluance, I have to say that they are one of the best sets of speakers I’ve ever used.

Linda August 28, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 15 Years California, United States

Super Easy to Set Up
Even my parents are able to use it!
I am new to the powered speaker world and am super impressed and a convert!

ed r August 27, 2020

Beautiful, powerful sound for bookshelf speakers for a Fluance turntable, but since are equipped with bluetooth, work great playing music from my cell phone. Very happy with the speaker set!

michael l August 26, 2020

I almost didn’t buy these because all the reviews about hissing sounds and overall bad quality. After saying that I’m really glad I did decide to pull the trigger on the ai60’s. I’ve only really noticed the hiss once or twice. As long as sound is coming out you can’t hear anything but the music or movie. I have them crammed in a cabinet which is the main reason I gave them a shot since they are enclosed speakers. I have a turntable hooked up to them through analog and my tv through the optical input and everything sounds great. The bass on these speakers is awesome and great for movies. The bluetooth also has a pretty good range on it. Overall no complaints yet for these powered speakers I’m glad I ditched the old 2.1 receiver setup.

Tanner,D August 20, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 6 Years Kansas, United States

These are a great replacement for a soundbar or a standard 2.X passive setup. I wanted to simply my media setup but still get good sound for music, games, movies, etc. I current setup is:

Optical for TV
RCA for turntable
USB for raspberry pi with Spotify client running

Pros:
-Sound: Great amount of bass. I live in an apartment so it's the perfect amount that you can hear but doesn't shake the walls, although you could easily add a sub if you'd like. Where you will really see the differences between these and a soundbar is in the mid-bass / mid frequencies. I actually had a soundbar side by side with the ai60s and the lack of sound in the bar/sub crossover region was obvious.
-Nice variety of inputs
-Hits a solid price point between lower end speakers (Edifier) and upper end (Kanto).

Cons:
-Dialogue can be harder to hear at lower volumes (result of DSP I believe). Wish there was more tuning the end user could do on the DSP/equalizer part.
-No auto on/off. This might not be a problem for some people but this is one of those nice features that other speakers and soundbars often have. It'd be nice not having to pick up the remote as much.

Neutrals (extra thoughts):
-Wish there was a solid white colorway

I was not able to update my previous review regarding a tweeter issue, so wanted to post another review. Fluance reached out via email after my speakers had a tweeter issue out of the box. We did some initial troubleshooting, and it was determined they needed to be shipped back. Long story short, I had an easy return process and a new pair of speakers arrived less than a week after the return. Great customer service! I have the new pair set up and they sound fantastic. If you are a spotify user, there are some great playlists for "speaker test tracks" and I tried a few different tracks to get them dialed in. I have the bass set at the halfway mark (+5) and the treble setting a bit higher (+6) and found this to be my favorite for my environment. The bass is very punchy. Guitar and vocals are excellent. Very heavy and well-made, they look great in my listening room! I think they'll get even better with more playing time. The remote is great. Wish there was a dial or indicator for bass and treble as you have to count light blinks to know your settings. I was so excited to use these speakers, I am glad my initial issue was resolved and I can enjoy these. Great value for the $.

Love these powered speakers! I have them in cabinets since they are enclosed so they can be hidden. Using these speakers for my tv and a lot of music listening with Bluetooth and turntable.

Amazon Customer August 10, 2020

These are very good powered bookshelf speakers for the price. They look amazing, they are extremely easy to set up, and they sound good for the price. I’m using them as desktop speakers with no subwoofer. They do have a subwoofer output, but the bass is very good on these speakers, so you don’t need a sub unless you love extremely low bass response. They come with a decent remote, and the interface is easy enough to learn and use. There are limited EQ controls (raise/lower bass and treble). Now, the downsides:First, the speakers come with minimal cables. If you want to use USB or optical, you’ll have to purchase the cable separately.Second, there is a prominent hissing noise from the speakers in every input but optical. You can mitigate this by setting the speakers to very low volume and increasing the source volume, but this is not ideal (see below), so I only recommend these speakers if you can use an optical input.Third, the speakers have a dynamic EQ that increases the bass at lower volumes (relative to the volume setting on the speakers). This is annoying, and there’s no real reason why any user would want this feature. I don’t want a volume knob that also changes the EQ of the speakers, so the best way to mitigate this is to set a volume on the speakers once then never change it. This is fine for desktop use, but be careful purchasing these for a TV setup.Fourth, these speakers are very bass heavy. They sound great (NB: not nearly as good as passive speakers in the same price range, but you settle for simplicity and convenience), but if you live in an apartment, you may need to install an EQ on your PC to lower the bass. Without doing so, I bother my apartment neighbors If I turn the volume up enough to hear dialog clearly.Ultimately, these are great-looking, decent-sounding, extremely easy-to-set-up speakers with some minor flaws that you can generally mitigate. Great value for the price, and I highly recommend these as long as you are okay with the flaws

Max July 27, 2020

I use these hooked up to my TV for movies and spotify, and they work beautifully. For my two bedroom apartment, they really fill the space.Easy setup, beautiful product.

Alexander A July 26, 2020

These speakers are good but I definitely get odd variances in volume - good for casual listening, but I would get a seperate amp and speaker for hifi

J. W July 26, 2020

I was so excited for these as they had (almost) everything I wanted and looked great to boot. I read a lot of reviews and watched some videos and decided they would work for my setup (small living room, wishing to connect a turntable but also have bluetooth connectivity from my phone). For reference, my other listening setups are a pair of self-powered Equator D5 studio monitors (for mixing music, but I've also used them just for listening) and a 30-year-old pair of passive Bose 301s (no Bose haters, please -- if you're moving around a room and not sitting front and center, they can be quite nice). The good:- I thought the treble was fairly well-balanced- they look GREAT- easy connectivity- not too bigThe bad:- With bluetooth connected, the mid-bass was so prominent it gave me a headache after a few minutes, even at modest volumes. It sounds like the DSP was designed by a bass player who thought they needed to be turned up in every song. Even with the bass control turned completely down, it was overdone. Was this to please people who don't have a subwoofer? It didn't work. The bass is flubby and annoying, not tight like I'd expect from a closed speaker without ports. I tried isolating the speakers on stands and pads, moving them away from walls, moving them low and high...it's bass: it gets around. No luck. STRANGELY, this is less of a problem with the RCA input that I was driving from my turntable, though still there. Anyway, these have to go back. :(- Smaller issue: you can't switch which speaker is left vs. right, which was unfortunate for my listening setup and locations of my outlets (the right speaker plugs into the outlet) but not a deal-breaker.Overall: I'm assuming these were made for people to enjoy with movies? I don't understand why the bass is so prominent. Upon reading some more in-depth reviews of the frequency response, I see that the bass is, indeed, overstated at lower volumes. Sorry, Fluance, I can't listen at 10 all the time. I really, really wanted these to work, but the bass headaches will win out.

HYO July 24, 2020 Audiophile - 1 Year New Jersey, United States

Excellent bass - very smooth, very tight. Compliments my rt81 turntable.

Crystal, P July 22, 2020 Novice Listener - 5 Years California, United States

RT80 Turntable and Ai60 powered bookshelf speakers work great together. Sound quality too a smooth and the price point is very affordable. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Ron C July 12, 2020

These speakers are a great value for the money. The sound quality is crisp & clear. Spaced evenly in the room, the balance from L to R is well balanced.

MGR July 11, 2020

Bought these on Amazon used from Fluance. They looked brand new and they sound awesomebothj through bluetooth for music and with my TV using the optical port. Well worth the money and I am now looking into getting a set of 7.1 speakers for my home theater.

Ivan S July 10, 2020

My new Zoom crew demands that I work out of my kitchen nook, as it has the most neutral-looking wall space behind me. Read lots of online reviews before landing on the A140 and A160 BT speakers for above my kitchen cabinets. At about $200 for A160 refurbs (about the price of the A140's new), the 6" Fluances were exactly the price point I needed to replace my Samson BT3's which were fine, until you cranked them a bit louder then, it was distortion for days....I gave them to my gf for her bedroom, which is a win-win for us both. When they arrived direct from the factory, they sat on my butcher block facing me for a few days as I worked filling the room with clear mids and solid tight bass. They sound like my digital stereo and just about as good as my 12" Cerwin Vegas at about a 6-8 foot distance from my seat, which was a BIG surprise. There is a definite difference in the RCA jack connected sound in the highs vs. bluetooth from my laptop esp. in the highs, where the cymbals seem a bit less defined, but not really muddled, but just a little. I expected this as Bluetooth 5.0 spec really doesn't have the quality yet of wired. Where it DOES have the quality is in the pre-amp and power amp stages where there is little audible hiss, even when cranked high.I let the speakers "burn in" with Weather Report's Black Market album on FLAC for a few days before moving them off the counter and nearer to the ceiling, but honestly liked the presence and frequency response better when on axis. But it's that bass, you just can't ignore it, even when playing at lower volumes. It comes off as natural and effortless will definitely make you think differently about the smaller woofer sizes for a sealed enclosure. The remote is a nice addition to my pile of black remotes all claiming +Vol- <x (mute) and other sound changing controls, but it works well and feels good in the hand.No complaints at all, even the pairing process was pretty seamless. Well done, Fluance!

Chad G. July 9, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 4 Years North Carolina, United States

I was very excited to try out this speaker after looking at several online reviews, but after getting it in the mail, I really hope it was a bad unit and not indicative of Fluance in general.

My use case:
* I Live in a studio apartment, so I wanted an all-in-one speaker to handle USB, optical, RCA and wireless inputs for music and gaming. Needed to get enough low-end to avoid needing a sub, and would be used as near-fields as they were on my desk.

Pros:
* A plethora of connectivity. Everything I wanted for my use case.
* Powered so you don't have to deal with amp pairings, etc.
* Looks great. It's nice to see speakers with visual variety.
* Price was right. Shipping was free.

Cons:
* My unit came with a defective optical port so I couldn't get it to hold a cable.
* USB audio was unusable. Playing music with any amount of bass would cause the highs to quiet when those bass-heavy sections started. It's hard to explain. It honestly sounded like hearing the sound when your head is under water. Confirmed with several cables and two different computers that it wasn't the source audio.
* Customer service was slow. When I tried to get a return I had to follow-up twice to get the return label.

Summary:
* When you are dealing with international shipping, you don't want to have to deal with QC issues. Hopefully it was a fluke, but buyer beware.

jxiao July 7, 2020

Unfortunately, the passive speaker was faulty on receival of the speaker. There was a croaking noise with bass notes coming from the woofer even at low volumes ( the active speaker was fine). Furthermore there is rough uneven spot on the white finish on the active speaker which is a minor fault I could have lived with. However given that one speaker isn't working out of the box I have to return it. A shame really as I was looking forward to these speakers and from what I heard of the working one, the sounds was very nice.

These go seamlessly with the Fluance turntable I bought several months ago. Easy to set up, love that they're bluetooth because I can also use them with my desktop or phone with ease! also come with a remote which I didn't realize!

Amazing sound. Bluetooth is super easy. Need to get the preamp for my Rega RP1

Bill M June 30, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Simplicity of design and use is big in the electronics field. So many products are over-designed with needless features, but not the Ai60 powered speakers for Fluance. Like its little brother the Ai40 these come with user-friendly remote allowing customization of the sound as well as quick muting or changing from Bluetooth to Aux mode. Room-filling sound, functionality to spare, usb and subwoofer capability! Homerun these lovely units for sure!

Sang L. June 30, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years New Jersey, United States

These are my first powered bookshelf speakers, and I'm blown away at the quality all-around. Here's what I love about my Ai60s:

- The setup was super easy
- The sound is full, rich, and balanced, and would alone justify the price. Especially love listening to live recordings/albums.
- Functional and versatile as hell. RCA, optical, bluetooth, and USB options; subwoofer input; the intuitive LED light signals; and of course, the remote control.
- Handsome and elegant, goes perfectly with my RT81's

Only gripes are: the volume level is not always consistent and will sometimes shift suddenly (depending on the track and its mixing/layering), and sometimes it just feels too bass-heavy. (I have to keep the bass at -6, as far down as it will go.) Still, it is an incredible value all-around. If you're on the fence, I would 100% give 'em a shot.

Orlando Leal June 29, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Indiana, United States

I am super happy with these speakers. Sound is incredibly crisp. I would totally buy these if I were you. Very good sound in small to medium sized rooms.

Jordan K June 27, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years Minnesota, United States

Amazing. Sounds natural and flat, while still delivering tight bass and crisp highs. Paired with an RT82, these speakers are truly phenomenal.

Tim H June 27, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

Overall very nice sounding speakers. Well balanced: clean highs, clear midrange, and deep punchy bass.
Impressive, well-finished cabinets and quality drivers. Very happy with the purchase, exceeded my expectations

Ryan W June 26, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 15 Years Michigan, United States

Amazing sound quality from these speakers. They are built very well and look great next to my turntable. The best bookshelf speakers I have ever had. The remote is a great accessory, sub woofer input, Bluetooth, RCA, Optical, USB compatibilities all work flawlessly. Highly recommend the Ai60 speakers. Awesome class D amp built in with a 100 watts of Total power.

Chad June 22, 2020 Novice Listener Mississippi, United States

The sound is clean but lacks the richness and character I was hoping for when using with a turntable. I also found the bass to be generally underwhelming.

K. M June 21, 2020

First off, my review is based on using these as home stereo speakers, with a 10" Polk sub. If your usage case is "near field" or desktop computer monitors, my thoughts likely don't apply. I also have a sample size of one. I'm unwilling to return and replace to see if the issues are with this pair only.My source device is a Chromecast Audio connected via Toslink, samet hing I've used for several years. My listening environment is a relatively large living room, 600 square feet with an 18' cathedral ceiling. These speakers play plenty loud to fill the room, so there's that. But at relatively modest volumes the woofers distort (clip?) on lower bass notes, even with no bass-heavy material. First time I noticed it was listening to Beck's "Boyz". Hardly a bass drop.Additionally, the sub-out seems to heavily attenuate the signal. I have to put my hand on the sub to feel that it's doing anything, and it's not much. Setting the sub's crossover to 125 Hz and the volume to max SHOULD have the sub distorting like crazy. Nothing significant happens. For the record, this is a sub I've used daily for over 15 years, so it's not an issue with it, or cabling, or placement. Fluance's DSP is doing something funny, and I'm not laughing.Last issue, as some others have mentioned, the sound expands or compresses at various volumes, presumably due to the DSP. Ick.All of that said, if you're planning on using these as computer monitors, or in a small room for low-volume listening, you might be happy. They look fantastic, and they sound decent at low volumes (sub-out notwithstanding).Me? I'm sending them back.

Kevin N June 18, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years North Carolina, United States

Back in the late 60's and early 70's we had some "Classic" gear and in the late 70's I got married and let go of everything.
We knew what full, rich sound was reflective of the vinyl of the days.
After retiring and spotting out an empty bedroom I saw the opportunity for a music room.
I knew my biggest restriction was the 12 x 15 room size so all thoughts of a Marantz amp and JBL speakers were not a fit. I started to study things out and took the risk of a powered speaker setup and the high-end Fluance table with the 2M Ortophone cartridge. The YouTube reviewer was dead on!
I have to tell you all my expectations were met and I'm sold on Fluance!
Don't hesitate with these well tuned, engineered speakers that fit my room size. The sound is almost like a flashback to the early 70's!

Mitchell Conway June 18, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Massachusetts, United States

Speakers have a very fun sound and a lot of bass. They definitely have a very very loud hiss at higher volumes, so do not get these if you plan on blasting anything or else you will be in trouble.

Ryan J June 16, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Connecticut, United States

Overall Review
After removing the speakers from the box the first thing I noticed was the traditional bookshelf design of the cabinets,”FLAWLESS”. The audio quality is solid, with clear, well-defined highs, nice presence through the mids, and rich bass depth that still leaves room for a subwoofer to enter the mix.

My Experience
On 2Pac feat. Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman’s “California Love,” the kick drum loop receives enough high-mid presence to retain its punchy attack, while the deepest lows get a solid representation through the woofers. You can tell that the intention here is for those frequencies to be handled by a connected subwoofer. So you get a serious sense of their depth, but there's room for a sub to step in and truly push out these deep frequencies. No one, however, will ever accuse these speakers of sounding thin or frail. This is a rich, powerful sound signature, with plenty of depth in the lows, and some boosted highs to match. The vocal performances on this track are crystal clear, and don't suffer from any added sibilance.

Josh N June 8, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year British Columbia, Canada

Great looking speakers that perform. No complaints, out of the box the speakers sound great. Plenty of bass while maintaining the clarity of the higher notes. Highly recommend these speakers. I thought I had a pretty good speaker setup, but these Ai60s blow my other system out of the water!

Phonitor June 6, 2020

I bought this for slightly more than a year. I prefer using this pair of speakers for movies more than music listening due to more bass. I don't think these speakers good for critical music listening comparing to audiophile grade speakers. It's lack the refinement of good audiophile speakers. However I enjoy using it for movies and there is no need to add subwoofer as a lot of bass. It also works better in bigger room after I relocated it from a small room. It performs lot better than the Samsung soundbar with subwoofer.

Megan S June 5, 2020 Audiophile - 11 Years Ohio, United States

The sound quality on these speakers is blowing my mind. Very flat frequency response is no joke and I love not having the bass boosted past it’s original mixed level. I couldn’t be happier with this product. Well done.

Brian O May 29, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Virginia, United States

Lots of sound from these beauties! Nice design, very impressed.

Jon A May 23, 2020

The bass and treble gain adjustments are great. The speakers have a decent kick when playing low sounds in movie soundtracks. With its built in DSP, it can output down to 32 Hz.The DSP is usually transparent, but once in a while you can hear a slight bit of a "sizzling" audio artefact, and it definitely exhibits some dynamic range compression when the speaker gain is cranked up.The remote I got kept draining the batteries very quickly even when not in use, so batteries would die within two weeks, so I contacted Fluance and they very promptly sent me a new remote for free (free shipping too). The new remote has been working for over a year now, with no battery issues. The optical input sounds really clean, with no audible noise floor, but with bluetooth you can hear a low volume floor that sounds like pink noise. Same thing but to a smaller extent for analog input.Great speakers overall. I got it at list price, then missed a chance to buy a second pair last year when the price dropped briefly down to $199.

NOFATCHICK1 May 21, 2020

These speakers are outright gorgeous, and the sound is fantastic, however that depends on how you plan on using these speakers. I bought these for music use primarily, as I was dissatisfied with my current sound bar for music. ( I own a Polk audio magnify mini). For near field listening, (which these should be use anyways) they sound fantastic. The bass gets surprisingly low. There are some cons however. Their is noticable compression when the lows kick in. Fluance even recognizes this in which depending on the type of genre your listening too the audio may compress up too 25%.I lowered the bass -2, and it slightly helps combat the compression. I recommend you do the same. Overall these are fantastic and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for powered speakers under $300If you plan on using these as a soundbar I recommend you go elsewhere unless you have a powered sub. For reference my Polk audio magnify mini comes with a 6.5 inch subwoofer which has much more room filling bass which is ideal for movies. These are both loud systems, however the magnify can get significantly louder, and is smaller.

I was reading lots of reviews in the Internet before buying the speakers, and finally was comparing between Edifier and Fluance, Edifier S2000Pro vs Fluance AI60. While I haven't done a comprehensive comparison between those speakers, I still was impressed by sound's quality on all frequencies made by my AI60. Bass is also pretty strong (that was my fear that the bass would not be enough for me). However, the only cons that I can think about is due to, probably, the nature of sound's codec - the speakers change volume rapidly: if a song does not have a bass at some point of time, the volume is increased, and then, when the bass comes to the scene, the overall volume is decreased. It is more noticeable on lower volumes. But in general - amazing speakers!

They are a beautiful set of speakers. Very easy setup. The sound is tremendous. My only concern was after spending all that money on the Ai60 I had to go out and buy the proper cable to connect them directly to my Fluance turntable. A cable was included but the direct cable needed.

I thought I would write a review to help those trying to decide between these and other studio monitor types of speakers. I love music, but I guess I am not an "audiophile" as I do not like flat or hi mid sounds in my music. Maybe if I liked classical or jazz I would feel differently but for electronic, rock, blues, or anything with a bass line I have never been a fan of flat. I picked up a set of Jamo self powered monitors first since they were on sale for $149 at another vendor. I have some other Jamo speakers I love, so I thought I would take a chance. I also own Audioengine A2s. I like my A2s but they produce a slight hum when music is not being played ,and use analog only inputs. The main reason for using these is that I want to chromecast to my outside screen porch and pool area and hook to a sub for better bass. The A2s would obviously be too small for this application but I thought the Jamos might do the trick. I was also considering the A5s but after reading many reviews it seems they also hum and chromecast does not sound quite as good with analog. So I tried the Jamos and while loud enough, they definitely sound flat even with adjustments. When I hooked up the JBL 10" sub I had laying around they sounded better, but it sounded out of balance with the flat vocal and instruments. I was also looking at the Kanto YU6 but the price of those and the AE 5s were $100-$200 more. I also heard a review from an "audiophile" that he did not like the sound signature of the Ai60s and that almost prevented me from pulling the trigger. That is what led me to say I guess I am not an "audiophile" because luckily I decided to purchase the Ai60s, hooked them up, and grinned ear to ear. I believe it when the audiophile said the DSP focused on the highs and lows and it is a good thing for the type of music I listen too. They crank very loud and clear and when hooked to the sub they sound excellent. I think having the 6.5" woofer add to this even if they are sealed. The manual states to play them at medium volume for about 10 hours to break them in, so I guess they might even sound better soon. I like them so much I am thinking of purchasing a second set for back deck overkill. Of course my neighbors might not be happy because they sound so good I find myself wanting to crank it up more. Bottom line if you like to rock the house, listen to indie rock, blues, or even hip hop, or acoustic rock, or pop, you won't be disappointed. You don't really need a sub at all but it helps outside for sure. Love the connectivity and no hum!

The speakers are very well made and sound great! Bluetooth works great, and the number of input options makes them really versatile.

Y. C May 10, 2020

I've had these speakers for over three months now. They are excellent. I do not have them on fancy damper mats or stands. Just flat on my TV console about 4 to 5 inches off wall. Completely sealed construction. These things have tight deep bass. Enough to have you not want a sub if your room is not too large. After 15 hours of burn in, the speakers excel at both music and tv media. They open up considerably from when first fired up. And for amped speakers they have almost no noticeable hiss (volume turned up and ears 5 inches away you may notice it). Clean crisp treble and wonderful soundstage. Forgiving for listening off axis, but as some may mention this is not a critical listening tool. This is a fun speaker system that solves for many things in one awesome package. Very nice looking and they make for conversation speakers. Just don't expect to impress your audiophile snob uncle. Highly recommend.

The Ai60s are an amazing combination of price and quality. Huge and rich sound, stays clear and crisp at loud volumes, and stylish as hell. Very satisfied customer.

Top quality product.
Excellent sound.
Sound bar killer!!

Antony April 18, 2020

These speakers are nice, kinda big i would say, sound is not the best but its good enough to satisfy your everyday needs(i use them as computer speakers)..The middle ranges are almost perfect, but the weak link is the bass..And what i mean is not that they dont have enough bass..They do..Really lots of bass, but its the quality of the bass..Its not so good..Its kinda floppy..Its not compact or even solid..But if you keep it in reasonable volume levels you will be fine..Something else. The usb port works fine..The optical port is not working..Meybe its was the cable..I will try another cable..The aux cable is too short..You ll need to buy your own cable..So..Yes i recomend them..They are not audiophile quality speaking, but they are way better than all these small computer or tv speakers that most of the people get..!!!

Andrew S April 16, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Massachusetts, United States

The speakers sound great with a lot of music, and look fantastic too. They are shaping the sound, for sure, and this gets in the way. when I hooked up a digital piano into the mix. There some bass-driven dynamic range compression that just kills some of the more intense moments of highly dynamic piano-heavy sound. I was able to fool it by shelving my bass output from the piano just enough and am reasonably pleased with the result. Would be great to have control over this processing.

Gordon P April 7, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

Beautiful quality and workmanship. Outstanding sound easily managed through included remote. Versatile with USB, Optical, RCA, Bluetooth connections. Can move between modes with ease, from TV to turntable to Cellphone music. Exceeded my expectations.

katie d April 6, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Michigan, United States

the speakers will cut out if the volume is turned up too high and it’s a super scary high pitch noise. it’s done this since i bought them but i found nothing helping me to figure out how to fix the problem

Marcus, D April 6, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 17 Years Ontario, Canada

Better than expected for Powered Bookshelves. I love the White front/Bamboo combo - it looks very clean and modern. It pairs nicely with my Fluance turntable as well.

Speakers are clear, crisp and surprisingly punchy. They have their own Treble & Bass EQ settings. I have the Bass EQ set to the negatives and it still has good punch.

I haven't tested them with a turntable yet - only through Bluetooth connections (which pair easily and stay paired).

I have a full Fluance surround sound system as well and for the price/compact design of these bookshelves it's hard to go wrong. The quality of them is on par with the surround sound system.

Richard A March 31, 2020 Novice Listener - 3 Years New Jersey, United States

I purchased these to start out my first turntable set-up. The price point and versatility of inputs (Bluetooth, RCA, etc) were the main reasons I was interested in the AI60s. I've been using them for about two weeks now and they sounds really good. I haven't purchased a turntable just yet (looking to get the RT82) but I've been listening via bluetooth and optical cable (using Spotify on AppleTV) and it's been a great experience so far. Really looking forward to testing it out once I have a turntable and preamp set up. They look great, sound great, so far so good. I would recommend them to others looking to not break the bank but not wanting to compromise on sounds/versatility.

Yuriy K. March 30, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years California, United States

bought these on a whim to prepare for a lengthy WFH situation to replace a ~10 year old Boston Acoustics soundbar.

I connected the Fluance record player with built in pre-amp, the TV via optical, and two devices via bluetooth and it was a very simple set up, everything just works.
The sound beats the sound bar. I thought I'd have to buy a sub since the one I have is only wireless, but these little guys have decent base. More importantly, the sound quality absolutely blows away the previous set up, is simple to get going. My only concern is how these will play into a larger set up in the future if at all, but I don't think I'll be buying a colossal home any time soon. For a smaller apartment, these are ideal.

Clelio P March 30, 2020 Advanced Listener - 10 Years Quebec, Canada

Bought this to connect to my turntable and TV. It sounds really good and it can get very loud. I found the bass to be slightly too strong, but that is my personal taste and it never overclouded the mids and highs. Unfortunately I had to return it because it ended up being bigger than I anticipated. Getting the Ai40s instead.

M Lemire March 27, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Quebec, Canada

Chief March 26, 2020

I had a pair of Ai40 speakers that had an issue with. I bought the Ai60's, thinking they would be louder and better. These speakers are decent. They have OK sound quality. The peak volume is not what I expected.

Whit L March 16, 2020

Absolutely love these. Gorgeous and very sturdy design and build. Great sound, especially at their price point. That said, the bass is very heavy even at the lowest setting, so if you don't like much bass response, you may want to avoid them. They are functioning incredibly well for me as both TV speakers (via optical cable) and a Bluetooth music player. Highly recommended.

Bugsy March 10, 2020

I've hooked these up to my computer, along with a BIC F12 subwoofer. To be honest, these probably don't need a subwoofer at all, but it really does help fill in the sound. My wife was already complaining about the bass upstairs before I added the woofer. Sounds really good to me - there's a very obvious DSP effect when you turn these up at high volumes that some may dislike. I'm sure they're just trying to prevent distortion while getting some pretty loud volume.. This is very obvious with the subwoofer - I need to turn the volume up on the subwoofer a little bit when listening at high volumes, however when I turn the speakers down the subwoofer sounds way too loud at the same volume. Minor complaints, not worth knocking a star off. Sounds great near-field and from a couch about 12' away.

Monkey March 5, 2020

Shouldn't be rated anywhere near as highly as they are. The DSP in these really makes a mess of the bass, making it sound blown out and too loud compared to the treble. Turning up the treble a couple of clicks helps, but it still isn't good. Pretty disappointing.

Alexander March 4, 2020

Really good quality material and the bass hits reeeeeally low, but the hissing noise was really loud

Alfred L February 29, 2020

Excellent speakers ! Great build quality and sound is clear and accurate. .

Kanto February 29, 2020

Great speakers, very easy to set up and good bluetooth pairing. Initially, I was planning to install a sub as well but for the 600sqft room I have the bass is more than enough for now even when playing music with a punchy baseline. My advice would be wait on a sub until you have these set up because the 6.5 inch driver performs admirably.

Brian G February 23, 2020

John W February 21, 2020

EstimatedProphetHawk February 19, 2020

Ordered these and then saw Z review these on YouTube. He's does an incredible job and as many other reviewers had, loved the AI40's. Well he hated them and had very little good to say about them.Z was wrong. Other than a rare sound of nearly unnoticeable distortion on the low end, the AI60's are phenomenal. For what I paid for these, I'm thoroughly impressed. Nearly as much as I was the AI40's.Now compared to speakers costing twice as much. Yeah these may fall a little short. The one thing I was disappointed with was the extreme low end. They really fall of below 30hz. But very little music gets that low.As for the look? These look great. I do really like the contrast of the white face, black speakers and walnut finish. Otoh, I like the black on the front of my AI40's better. They just look classier in Walnut and black.Connections are all great. Really nice to have Optical and RCA inputs, along with the top of the line APTx Bluetooth. Also great to have the sub out,to make up for the lack of power in the low low end.GOODLook greatSound greatIncredible valueBADNothing reallyMEH....Low end bassNearly unnoticeable distortion in bass

K February 8, 2020

Great sounding speaker! Easy to setup and use.

Kevin February 7, 2020

I was initially set to purchase the Ai40, but these were on sale for 199.99, only 30 bucks more than the Ai40s. I needed a quick solution for bedroom audio: I no longer wanted to use a dedicated amp and speakers and thought these would be an ideal option. At first, I was unimpressed. However, I let them "burn-in" for the suggested time indicated in the manual. After this, these began to impress me. Bluetooth sounded decent, however, the sound is noticeably much better using the Toslink and USB input coming from my Macbook.Separation and imaging are great, and they do a good job of creating a phantom center. Some music sounds bass-heavy, even with the bass lowered to its minimum. One solution was to adjust the equalizer from your source(Tidal, Spotify, Ipad, etc). They get loud without too much distortion, but they sound best at moderate to lower volumes.Does it sound as good as my main system? No, and that's ok. What it does provide is a great, fun listening experience for a decent price. If you're just beginning, or need a good, basic setup for a den, living area, or bedroom, this is perfect. Not audiophile-grade, but still a great, everyday set of speakers. Definitely worth checking out.

Steven K February 5, 2020 Audiophile - 15 Years North Carolina, United States

If you've been looking for some speakers with some serious oopmh look no further. I'll admit I was skeptical about these when I bought them. I usually find powered bookshelves in this price range less than underwhelming. In fact they're usually just flat out disappointing. Not so with these. While I wouldn't say they're "perfect", they're the next best thing for the money. The highs are clear, even if they're a little dark to my ears at times. The mids are crisp and well balanced with the highs. The lows, well, they're very low. I haven't heard a bookshelf with this low, clear, and tight of a bass response with as much output as these without spending 2x-3x as much. The ability to adjust the bass and treble to your liking via the remote is clutch. In some select genres of music you don't need/want bass that is too powerful and in others you just need it pounding. I was surprised that I didn't "need" a subwoofer with these. Now, would a subwoofer add something? Of course. You're not going to get that visceral slam without an external subwoofer, but if you're pressed for space, want to use them as desktop speakers in your office and still want to jam, or want to add some real life to a bedroom TV you can't go wrong with these; the bass is awesome. I suspect the same thing could be said about their little brother, the Ai40, but I haven't heard those yet. While I haven't tried these for hifi listening I can't imagine anything would change. They're well designed and solid speakers. The ability to dim and turn off the LED if you want was a good choice for them to include in this set. While the LED's luminance is by no means an issue in an office setting I can definitely see how it could be in a darker setting like while watching a movie. It's nice to be able to choose. Good job, Fluance. Keep it up.

Great speakers, but they came with the wrong cord to connect to my Fluance turntable. Reached out to customer support to never hear back. They responded by Awesome customer support.

Ivan M January 28, 2020

I really like the quality of the speakers for the money. I connected them to the tv and the movies sound really good. The bluetooth works perfect on the iPhone 11, but on my Samsung the volume is really low even when my phone is turned all the way up.

Ana January 27, 2020

I liked the design and color.I didn't like the way it connects to different sources.I didn't like the distortion in high volume.

gary January 19, 2020

Crystal clear and excellent sound with amp and deep deep bass 35hz wow! I Plug amd play! No amp or sub needed, but has a sub jack if you want to add on later. I'm a musician and picky, ...these I really like...did wited for best sound ( I don't do BT)...

P. B January 19, 2020

Great Speakers. The Bass is astounding for the size and price point. Would most certainly recommend these over the other options at this price point. The only negatives are the single set of RCA jacks and I had one instance of the Bluetooth dropping out but it hasn't happened since.

Cat B January 18, 2020

It's incredibly difficult to consistently connect my iPhone X. And forget about using an Alexa dot. You can either use Alexa - which also struggles to connect to these speakers - or try to connect via Bluetooth from your phone. But they definitely won't switch seamlessly between the two. Such a hassle I may return them. If you just want to connect via stereo cable to your turntable then maybe you will appreciate them.

Scott January 16, 2020

EDIT: I added a star. A significant amount of the problem was the preamp. That was after 3 weeks of tracking down customer service (who still doesn't seem to care...figured it out on my own. So cusfomer service is still a MAJOR issue). The DSP still seems to make the dynamics a little flat on the RCA channel but it isn't so bad that I will pack them up and send them away. Still not 100% but will keep them and see what happens. Hopefully I won't need support from them again.Optical in sounded awesome. The bluetooth worked great and sounded amazing. My turntable sounded awful. The turntable sounded awesome with the smaller Edifiers I had so I expected to be wowed. I did a ton of research. I nearly bought some towers and an amp but I decided to go minimal and get these (after TONS of research). Every time any amount of bass hit on the RCA line it would get really quiet. Like it was protecting the speakers. It doesn't do this on any of the other inputs. Just the RCA. I thought maybe it was the cables but I switched them out and it was fine. I have a Fluance turntable so it should be a great match.I've tried contacting customer service for the past 9 days. NO ONE answers. I've emailed and all I've received are emails telling me they are busy and will get back to me soon. I have 30 days to try these out and now I need to waste some time returning them. Not sure what is next but I'll probably be speakerless for awhile while I wait for the money to get back on my card. What a waste of time and energy. Really sad. I desperately wanted to like these. But between the lack of customer service and the quality of sound on one input, I'm going to have to just start all over again. :(

After a slow and methodical break in I really enjoy the clarity of these speakers. At first they sounded harsh and heavy with a droning sound not so pleasant but that only lasted bout the first half hour. They improve as the break in time proceeds this is a very important step in my opinion Take the time to break in properly you wont be disappointed. The construction quality is solid and very durable looking, nice and heavy. Only use these with my Fluance RT85 and paired together they make my vinyl collection come to life. Everything from Folk to Heavy Metal. I like a variety of sound so clarity in midrange is important proper break in helped bring the Mids out. Bass is heavy hitter with these but you can manage it with the remote. Love Them Awesome Speakers!!!

Christopher M January 3, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

I am clearly an outlier, but I find the bass far too heavy for these. Have a pair with the RT-85 and PA-10 in my home office. Find the bass, turned to -6, way too thumpy across a wide genre of music and even at low volume. Detracts from the otherwise solid sound quality

Great product! Pulled it out of the box, hooked it up, connected to bluetooth and got blown away! Only a week in and so far, I have enjoyed rediscovering music. Can't wait until they fully break-in. Have not tried with the optical table from TV yet, but can imagine these would blow away most any sound bar. Deep bass for the size, and I like the sealed cabinet for cleaner, clear mids and lows. Seems to have plenty of room filling power. Well made and handsome cabinets. Theses are not "top tier" $3000 cabinets, but then again that is the point. For most listeners that are not looking to have a $3000 set-up, but want something clean and simple, this is it!

I purchased the Ai60 Bluetooth speakers just a couple of days before Christmas. I can truthfully say I’m not disappointed they have a full healthy sound and can reach ear piercings volume overall definitely a soundbar killer with true stereo separation.

Gary,H January 1, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Utah, United States

Listening right out of the box, sounded decent. I then burned in about 12-hours. Sounded about the same to me. I think speakers sound better at a lower volume vs higher volume. This was all done listening to bluetooth. I am getting the pa10 pre-amp and turntable, will see if speakers open up. I need more time to give a fair assessment.

Great bookshelf speaker. Bluetooth pairs easily and the sound is great. Having the subwoofer out option is really nice. I added a sub and the sound together is incredible. I looked at a set of T&V and it wasn't even close. Fluance with a sub blew them away.

Great sound and at a good price. Fluance did a very good job on the design and style of the speaker.

Rob A December 19, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years California, United States

Overall I'm very happy with the AI60s. The sound quality is very good and these can fill a fairly large room. The bass is better than expected for relatively small speakers. While I didn't intend to use the optical connection with my TV, I've found it to be particularly high quality, especially when watching sports.

My only complaints are fairly trivial so far - it would be nice to have an even simpler way to switch between connections, and the optical / USB color indicators could be more different (hard to tell the difference between the pink/purple). I also have some concerns about the remote control's durability.

Unfortunately Fluance dropped the price very significantly just after I purchased the speakers, but that makes them an even better steal now.

Adam Z December 17, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Steve C December 16, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

I needed a nice-looking set of powered speakers with sub-out and a warm sound for jazz to connect to my new 82" QLED. I dislike the look of a soundbars and these Ai60 were the perfect match. The size is very good and the frequency does go down to 35hz. Plenty of power to fill a large room and the fit and finish is top notch. These are not audiophile level speakers but audiophiles spend way more than $400 on speakers, these are great value and you'll be pleased with the performance. I did get the audible hiss from the speakers in bluetooth and RCA mode with nothing hooked up but the hiss went away in optical mode which i am using anyways. i am also using the sub-out to a Boston Acoustic 12" powered sub. Auto on/off would've been nice to conserve energy. Overall a great buy and sound much better than any soundbar at double the price.

Uncharted territory for me, as the thought of spending more on the speakers than the turntable was a little hard to fathom, but saw them on sale, and can’t stop listening! Additional functionality like subwoofer our and mini USB in, plus the heavier low end compared to the Ai40, these are next level

I am around 6 months with the Ai60. Before buying, I considered, among others, the Audioengine A5, Kanto YU6, and the Ai60. Settled on the Ai60. Like to note right now that I'm using the Ai60's optical audio input, exclusively. Source is supplied from iTunes on a MacBook Pro that has an optical out port. Music files are ALAC, AAC, and a few MP3s. I also listen to Internet radio a lot. I needed to downsize, and did so from a full-size rig (integrated amp, speakers with sub, various sources). It would be fair to describe the former gear as budget audiophile or better. so I was concerned about sound quality. I bought in early June and have been listening since. Although I deliberately set out to find things I did not like, that was tough—the Ai60s met or exceeded my expectations. One thing they don't do is give you a lot of "feel" of deep bass. You can certainly hear the bass, which does go deep, but you do not feel it as you would with a good sub. A sub is not part of my current picture, so that is what it is. Due to the DSP deployed, the speakers can sound...well, loud...not a bad thing at all! The remote's volume control isn't in fine gradations. The speakers have a good amount of detailed sound, are attractive, and appear to be well-built. It's worth noting that the Ai60's are sensitive to quality of the source material. If it's not that great, what you'll get is not that great, and in painful detail. But with decent source, you're good to go! No issues at all with hissing or other noise for me. I did test with Bluetooth, which works, but it's not what I'd use with these or any other speakers for optimal sound quality. It's optical in for me. After 6 months of listening, I'm happy with these guys. No, they are not at an audiophile level, but they are quite nice and offer much bang for the buck.

Excellent sound, great value! I'm using these as PC speakers for music and gaming in my home office. The entire range of sound is excellent, and the bass is solid. I definitely don't plan to add a sub, but that might be an option in a larger room. Slight hiss from tweeters regardless of input source but I only notice when I'm leaning in close. I primarily use optical out from my PC, and occasionally bluetooth from my phone. Both sound incredible!

These speakers were a great solution for my needs. I already have nice JBL monitors and a sub for my studio but i needed speakers for my living room. Optical from the TV into the speakers, RCA from the turntable for listening to vinyl, and Bluetooth for average music listening. I was going to get an amp and passive speakers but frankly when i found these i was sold. Takes up minimal space and works as intended. Just turn em on. They really sound amazing. I thought they sounded a bit funky at first but as I broke them in they really started coming to life. The bass is incredible. I had planned to use my JBL sub with them... don’t need to. I do think they are not meant to be played at full volume.. they definitely sound like they get pushed as you near maximum volume - this is probably the compression others have mentioned. However, for average listening volumes even with a room full of guests they really shine. They get really loud. I would not use these speakers as reference monitors though - they are your “everyday” speaker. The Bluetooth is a bit weak in my opinion. If I go into the next room away from them it cuts out pretty fast compared to my previous setup. Not a deal breaker though. Overall i would definitely recommend these speakers if it sounds like they fit your needs.

Power T September 23, 2019

Great sound and a great value. In a smaller room coupled with a Yamaha sub w, sounds perfect.

Very good sound and amazing craftsmanship. The only reason I would not give them 5 stars is that the customer service was poor and a bit rude.

I bought the Ai60 speakers as an upgrade over my Edifier R1280DB speakers. I have them matched to my Fluance RT80 turntable and I could not be more pleased. The Ai60 speakers perform well above their cost. The sound is clean at loud levels and the highs and lows are nicely reproduced. The remote control is fantastic! I love that I can adjust the bass and treble from the remote. My vinyl sounds fantastic! And football games, WOW! I will probably add the sub at a later date, but I think the speakers sound great, even without a sub.

Very good sound, excellent low end. Build quality is very good.
In comparison to Kanto YU 60, the sound range is better and connectivity is nearly as good. Slight buzz on bluetooth but turn down the monitors and turn up the source and it's acceptable. I have already recommended these speakers to friends.

These speakers sound amazing for $300. I returned another set of powered speakers after hearing these. The amount of bass these put out greatly surpassed my previous speakers. So far I haven’t felt the need to plug in my sub. I’ve been using them as speakers for playing music via Alexa and my turntable. I would have liked it to have an “auto on” feature but it’s not a dealbreaker.

Andrew H August 29, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year New Jersey, United States

Before I bought this I had an expensive sound beam and it sounded great. It was very clear but the bass was lacking. These speakers were perfect. Especially for the music I listen to like EDM. The lows are awesome and the bass adds what I'm looking for. If you want good all around sound then these are it. No $600 subwoofer needed.

Filippo R August 26, 2019

I'm an avid music listener (Metal, Classical, Electronic, Choirs, Rock, Pop) and I've always liked the 2.0 desktop setup as I listen to music while working, for years, I used to have a pair of Yamaha HS5s and I always found them way too flat for my music listening usage. Every so often I would look online to see if I could find a good alternative, I tried the Audioengine A5s and M-Audio but quickly returned them as they were extremely mediocre and underwhelming. Recently I stumbled into this brand and decided to try them out. These speakers are currently retailing for 300$ and have gone beyond any of my expectations. From a music standpoint, the bass is full bodied, the drums sound crisp and they can play extremely loud. They completely blow Audioengine A5s and M-Audios AV42s out of the water, they aren't even remotely comparable. On top of the sound itself, these speakers come with excellent functionality, the remote is handy and they can be plugged into multiple devices (I ended up connecting them to my TV as well). If you're in the market for a music listening 2.0 system under 500$, do yourself a favor and pick these up.

A recent reviewer said: 'I went back and forth between Audioengine A5's, Kanto yu6's, and these Ai60's.' That is exactly what I did, too. When Fluance had a short-lived 20% off sale, that did it. I bit. I'm using the Ai60's optical audio input, exclusively. Source is supplied from iTunes on a MacBook Pro that has an optical out port. Files are ALAC, AAC, and a few MP3s. I can't believe how good these sound. The sound quality is excellent. I thought I would need to augment these with a sub woofer, but I don't see the need. And the connectivity options make these the only speakers I need: I have these paired with my RT82 turntable via speaker wire, to my TV via optical cable, and then I can stream from all my devices to bluetooth. The build quality is top notch — these are hefty speakers. They are also beautiful. I chose the natural walnut with the white fronts and they add they have an elegant appearance that adds to the rooms decor.

I highly recommend the Ai60.

JLA August 19, 2019

I bought these speakers with high hopes they would deliver the clear, distinct, and managed sound they were advertised to deliver. Even though there was no specific reference to their performance in computer station setups or as home DAW monitors, the pictures provided in the advertising suggested they were also recommended for these applications. Prior to testing these speakers, I decided to eliminate any concern with audio signal source quality by installing a new SBX ProStudio sound card and using audiophile gold plated connectors throughout. After setting the units up at my computer mixing station, I performed a six-hour speaker burn-in by playing various playlists at 70% volume. Then the real review began. The audio files I used for testing included the Test Speaker Hi End Audiophile Collection - 2018 from NbR Music, along with numerous FLAC audio files residing on my NAS. The speakers were mounted on foam isolation pads and placed at ear level on my desk speaker mounts and at 65 inches from my ears. Initially the speakers sounded slightly unbalanced, with midrange being noticeably confined and bass somewhat over-aggressive. I tried adjusting the levels on the speaker front, but I could not improve one without sacrificing another. I allowed the testing to continue anyway and soon began to experience a noticeable amount of listener fatigue. During the first hour of testing, I had to stop the music and restart it numerous times in order to adjust levels. It was during the stops that I noticed the hissing and static coming from the speakers when left idle. I tried adjusting the audio signal to the speakers and the resident speaker volume but could not eliminate the noise. I then tried to isolate each speaker to verify where the noise was coming from, only to find it was coming from both speakers at almost the same intensity. I subsequently tried isolating all the input sources to my workstation, but to no avail. That’s when I knew something was wrong. For a final test, I disconnected the Ai60’s and reinstalled my previous speaker system. Not surprisingly, the idle hissing and static heard with the Ai60’s was completely gone. The original speakers were absolutely silent when idle, even though the same audio input connections used with the Ai60’s remained intact. Sorry Fluance, but I think you’ve got a bit more work to do with these units before I could honestly recommend them.

David August 16, 2019

** I have removed two stars, for now. The speakers have developed a distortion in the lower frequencies. It's really weird, maybe something the DSP is doing. It's more noticeable at lower volumes (these are on my desk). What used to be tight accurate bass, is now muddy and has this strange distortion. I have not played these excessively loud, and don't think it's an issue with the drivers, but something else. Also, the white noise, hiss these speakers have has gotten louder. I am exchanging for another set. Will update review according to their performance.I went back and forth between Audioengine A5's, Kanto yu6's, and these Ai60's. My use for the speakers were on my desk as near fields. I really had no intention of adding a sub, and the 6.5' drivers delivering 35hz low end performance kept drawing me back. I pulled the trigger, and couldn't be happier. They sound fantastic! I first ordered the walnut and white, and decided to exchange for bamboo because they didn't look right with my wood desk. Amazon was great about facilitating the exchange. One thing that's been discussed is the 'hiss' from these speakers. They do have a very slight hiss when nothing is playing. I cannot hear it unless I stick my head next to the speakers, it is a non-issue for me, nad can't be heard in the music at all. The speakers are clear and powerful, the bass sounds great from low to mid frequencies. It is clear and undistorted. The imaging is incredible, the sound-stage great with vocals right in front of me, clearly hearing all the different instruments spread around. I have the bass and treble at the factory levels. I've played with them, but keep going back. I gave Bluetooth 4 stars because you can't switch devices without hitting button on back of speaker, but not a big deal. The build quality looks solid, obviously not reall wood veneers here, but these are $299, so not expected. I think this a great value and delivers in spades. Would buy again, if needed.

Politicking August 15, 2019

As a self proclaimed audiophile, I spent an embarrassing amount of time researching computer speakers and studio monitors. I have Klipsch Reference Premier towers for my home and Krell in my car. I must say these sound amazing. There is a break-in period as will all speakers. The first pair had a bad tweeter but I was able to get a new pair from Amazon immediately. I tried the bluetooth connection against a USB-C hard-wire to my MBP and the bluetooth actually sounded better. The cable distorted at high volumes (maybe a sound card issue). The bluetooth is consistent and offers high fidelity sound with great low frequency response. The sound is balanced, I have the bass and treble settings at -3 out of 6 and the bass output is ample as to not require a sub even for hip-hop and electronic music. These are solid speakers for the money for those who want high-end sound, great bass extension, and cool looks. Well done Fluance!

Bill July 30, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Missouri, United States

I have bought many pieces over time to build up my home theater system. I could not be more impressed with both the quality of the finish materials and the audio reference. My only wish is they expand their product line!

W. L July 30, 2019

Very good sound for this size/type of speaker, easy to setup and flexible placement only needs a power plug.

KH July 11, 2019

The speaker is well built, has many connectivities, and sounds really good. I bought this pair for the bedroom TV setup and I wanted 2.0 setup that since I don't want a subwoofer in the bedroom, but the setup should have decent bass. Fluance Ai60 fulfills this requirement well. One of the complaints I had is the optical input makes the sounds horrible. The treble is just shriekingly sibilant and I had to turn the treble all the way down. I almost returned the speakers until I tried other connectivities (Bluetooth, RCA, have not tested USB yet). Then I realized the speakers sound pretty good, just not on optical. I bought Audioengine D1 used to interface between optical out on TV and RCA into the speakers.

Isaac L July 11, 2019

These speakers have been amazing. The build quality is great and the sound is so full for the size. The first set I received had both tweeters mashed in, but the seller worked with me and got a new set sent over and we can't get over how great they sound without a sub and how well they look in our mid century modern styled home. We have been using them as TV and turntable speakers.

Smurf July 7, 2019

As a self-proclaimed audiophile, I am thrilled to report these speakers sound great. The setup I have right now is with my TV and these really add dimension and help fill the room with sound. This is great because now subtle moments can still be heard while louder moments can be felt without feeling 'tinny'. I have tested on several movies and the entire experience has been enriched. These were easy to set up and even have an extra plug for a subwoofer. So, if the bass isn't enough for you there is always that option too. I will admit that I had considering purchasing an additional subwoofer before I tried these out, but the overall quality is so good that I am not sure I need to spend the money anymore. While speaking on quality of sound, it is worth noting that during your initial set up you will want to play some music at the maximum volumne before calibrating the treble and bass. Having the bass at the maximum setting may result in a 'muddy' quality depending on what you are listening to at higher volumes. All that said, with the right setup these will be tough to beat. I am even favoring these over my old tube amp record player at the moment. I believe hearing music through different speakers can be like hearing a song for the first time again and these speakers deliver that experience and sound great too.By the way, they look great too! Which was a deciding factor, but that also meant I spent a little more than some other options I was considering. Being that this was the most expensive option, I'd say that is the only complaint but I am still very pleased.

These speakers are awesome! 300 dollars for a set of speakers that sounds great after breaking them in for around 70 hours. When I first opened the box I had the issue with them of when I hit a bass heavy spot the speakers would muffle. I talked with Fluance and worked through this with help from Sean and their team. They were great, timely and I ultimately decided to through 70 hours on them and see how they sounded. The issue went away then I changed the speaker cable and the overall quality did improve a little more. These speakers have pretty good bass, I will get the sub eventually (you always need more bass). Overall, these speakers are loud, clear, has good bass and if an issue does a rise Fluance stands by their products and offers to replace them.

Ridiculous! The Ai40s are fantastic and these are better. More bass, obvious with a larger driver but cleaner, clearer high end as well. Great imaging too. Impressive kit is becoming a trend with this company. And from my country too!

Give these babies a little time to break in and you won't be disappointed. From a small full range speaker perspective these have no problem filling a normal room with crisp clean sound. I am using mine with an RT81 turntable set up with a 2M Red stylus and couldn't be happier. On a side note, I have a 7.1 home theater set up, all Fluance and it too is a stellar performer! At any price point, Fluance is a rock solid product!

Hello, very happy for the sound that this speaker has, I thought that being a sealed speaker the bass would not be felt in the lower frequencies, but they have a very good presence in the lower frequencies, being able to hear the sounds that in other speakers are not it could be heard. Very good work (DSP Virtual Sound) that takes a very high step in its range, they are very heavy and say a lot about the quality of their construction, the sound is very warm and relaxed in the high and medium frequency sounds. Tickets for all kinds of use as aptx bluetooth for wireless use, I recommend it a lot

I am a beginner with this technology and these speakers do everything I need and more. Easy hookup and they sound amazing. The price is also very kind to your wallet. I only wish the RCA cable that comes with the speakers was longer, but it's nothing that impacts the satisfaction of the purchase. I'm in love!

I never review products but have to say that these speakers are worth every penny. I switched from a soundbar to these speakers and the difference is night and day. I'm not an audiophile but I do have to say that if you are looking to upgrade from a soundbar to speakers, the quality, clarity, and crispness of these speakers are amazing for the price.

B.S. L May 31, 2019

This is my first nice set of bookshelf speakers, though I am a lifelong appreciator of good quality sound. Right away, I noticed how dynamic the music sounded. I have them mounted to a wall on brackets to avoid resonance from an actual bookshelf. Wide frequency response captures lowest notes on a 5-string double bass, which was my minimum requirement. And let me tell you, it does it well. The sealed (rather than ported) was a smart move and I have not noticed any issues with DSP in my many hours of listening. Speakers get so loud I have never gotten close to maxing them out. Kids like watching the woofer bounce. Even wife approves, despite their size (she uses them more than me at this point). Amazing value. Need I say more? 10/10

Alexy May 21, 2019

There are an excellent pair of speakers for $299.You can check our reviews online and they are all very positive. The sound is clear and the bass is deep. These will blow away any soundbar at this price point, including ones with a sub-woofer (2.1s). The speakers do have a sub-woofer output line so you can hook up a sub-woofer to this unit if you want.If you are an audiophile you would probably buy a receiver and the various speakers individually. If you are looking for a simple pair of speakers without the fuss of a receiver, etc., I'd say these are top choice. It is easily loud enough to fill a large living-room and kitchen. Big enough for house-parties at an apartment. You'd have to go floor-standing speakers for a large house though.

Happy with my purchase. The sound is clean and the most surprising is how the low notes come through. I've never heard bookshelf speakers with such a range of sound. The remote allows you to turn the speakers on and off a well as the ability to change the input. You can also adjust the treble and bass and volume. These speakers are so flexible and handy for so many uses. I bought the AI60s because of the additional input options. These are great little speakers and I highly recommend them.

The perfect accompaniment to go with any turntable! The biggest knock i saw on these speakers before i bought them was the amount of bass - but wow were they wrong! Huge bass that can shake a house. perfect crisp sound throughout. very happy with the purchase.

Jacob H May 12, 2019

Full, rich, articulate sound especially given the price point. I paired them with the DB10 sub and they sound great as a team.At high volumes there is light distortion and a background hiss. You'll only notice the hiss if you are within a couple feet of the speaker. These speakers sound excellent at low and moderate volumes. I was considering returning them and the super nice Canadians over at Fluance support offered me prepaid labels to do just that, but after mulling it over I decided for the money they were too good to give up. How many $300 speakers have a 1 month audition period with free return shipping? I can tell you that I found no other speakers with such an offer.Pros:Great full bodied sound up to moderate volumesLots of connection optionsPriceSuper friendly and helpful Canadian supportNice remoteCons:Slight distortion and hiss at high volumesBluetooth range is a bit on the short sideSource light indicator is a little difficult to tell between similar colored sourcesI'm picky and I would recommend these speakers to others.Update: I've started using these with a TV setup and they are fantastic for movies.

This is the great speakers for my TV, instead getting sound bar. Good bass. No need to add subwoofer for my opinion.

Michael P May 7, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 18 Years Colorado, United States

This is my first pair of what I would consider "nice" speakers. I am on a budget and did weeks of research on bookshelf speakers with the flattest frequency response and largest range. This gave me two options: Fluance Ai60, Edifier S350db, and Edifier S2000Pro. Based on JoeNTell review on youtube, I chose the fluance Ai60. They arrived and looked beautiful with the walnut veneer, larger than I thought. Turned them on and I'll never turn them off again. I like bluegrass, and I can feel the lowest standup bass notes reverberating through my room. I don't need a subwoofer. The sound quality seems a bit better when plugging in to coax rather than bluetooth. I mounted them on the wall to avoid resonance with bookshelf.

I purchased these after I had purchased two sets of the Ai40s. Unfortunately, these Ai60s hadn't been released at the time. I also purchased the Fi70. I shouldn't have bought that one. The Ai60's would have been much better because of the stereo effect that it can provide. It can also be connected to a subwoofer, which the other speakers don't offer. But hey, it's only money and you only live once. I ordered the Ai60s for my primary listening room and moved the other speakers elsewhere in the house. I have a Polk subwoofer connected. The system provides amazing sound with deep bass. I listen to music with these speakers and don't have to turn on my 7.1 home theater system to do so. The bluetooth range is also amazing. I am listening via bluetooth to Ai40s upstairs (without any hiccups) with the tablet on the first floor in the listening room. When I am downstairs, I listen to the Ai60s. I don't have to move the tablet anywhere else. It can reach anywhere in my two-story house.

Peterpunn April 16, 2019

I have these connected to a Fire TV device via Bluetooth. The Fire TV feeds a projector for the video and these speakers for the audio. Connecting the speakers to the FireTV was a cinch, and they sound great - for BT speakers, they have excellent range, clarity and oomph. I've used Fluance speakers in the past and they make a quality product. A couple of minor issues (not enough to take a star off):1. The position of the input source button on the remote is poor - its just above the volume up button, and I've inadvertently changed the source a couple of times while trying to change the volume. This is probably accentuated in my setup where I use a projector and the room is usually too dark to see the remote.2. There is a low hissing sound if the speakers are at high volume. This is common to most powered speakers and is only really noticeable if you are sitting right next to one of the speakers.

L. W. April 10, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 8 Years Maryland, United States

After the 10hr break in period they sound great. It may be a little too bass heavy out of the box for some but it is easily adjusted. My only complaint, and it’s minor, is that there is no way to determine the current volume setting on the speaker as the knob will continue to turn even if they’re at the minimum/maximum volume.

Geo April 10, 2019

Was looking for speakers to use in a minimal music production setup and to also stand in as daily listening speakers and the occasional party system.Having now tested them with everything from death metal to Beethoven and films, quietly and loudly, I’m happy to say that the rave reviews are true. Clear sound all around, from the lows to the highs, these speakers deliver what they promise. At both high volumes and low, you will get almost the entire audible spectrum presented with great accuracy, only cutting off just below 40 Hz and just above 19 KHz. Meaning you hear pretty much everything there is to hear in a song of a film.Wasn’t looking for a product with a remote but have been enjoying using it, as it does indeed come in handy, providing full control of the system with ease. One downside is the occurrence of some sort of auto volume control with high volumes, where a loud sound will turn down the entire speaker level momentarily. For anyone familiar with compressors, it sounds rather like a mild 1:2 ratio at perhaps -6dB threshold and fast attack with slow release. The other downside is an occasional yet rare occurrence of a mild distortion when the speakers are played at medium to loud volume, possibly linked to the automatic volume limiter. Albeit they still perform quite well and the distortion is very mild, bordering on barely noticeable and only when played above a certain volume.Over all very happy with this purchase and have already recommended them to others, considering their outstanding price point versus performance. Truly a gem in its class.

Steve April 9, 2019

I have those connected to a Fluance rt81 turntable and also use them for bluetooth music. They work great, there isn’t much bass until you have several hours of playtime on them, then the bass really opens up.

Jonathan April 5, 2019

I purchased these speakers based on the good reviews I saw on YouTube. I hoped they lived up to my expectations. I purchased them to use with my TV and to use as bluetooth speakers so I could listen to music from my phone. The good news is that they sound very good! I am super happy with my purchase. I bought the AI60s because of the additional input options that the AI40s didn't have. These are great little speakers and I highly recommend them.

got the ai60s, put them in my basement to go with my 65 inch x900f. Absolutely blown away, you would be surprised how much great sound and bass these produce, Jesus christ.

Really nice speakers. Using them in my bedroom right now. They fill the space and then some! Hoping to wall mount a TV in their soon. I'm curious how well they will handle movies.

I think these are a bit too big for desk listening and more appropriate for a bedroom/living room experience.

Craftsmanship is also excellent. Very beefy and we'll built speakers. Love the remote as well, very handy.

I've been using these speakers for about a month now to listen to music. They have a nice appearance and more importantly have a good range of sound for speakers their size. They perform admirably at the lower frequency sounds to the point that the addition of a subwoofer would be noticeable, but probably isn't necessary, although there is a subwoofer out port on the lead speaker. The speakers also have a variety of input methods, I've only used the RCA connection, but it's good to know that Bluetooth and Optical are options (the speakers also come with a handy Aux to RCA adapter). Ultimately, as far as bang for your buck goes, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal on speakers.

Hooked these to my 4k t.v. and a Fluance turntable. I had a sound bar and base speaker previously. This blows the sound bar out of the water and is highly affordable. Just the range of sound you can hear in these speakers blows you away. You can simultaneously hear deep base and the faintest of sounds and that makes watching television so much more enjoyable.

These aren't small speakers by the way. They are about the same size as a sound bar subwoofer each. Weigh almost 30 pounds each. They are very nice looking as well.

As far as music listening I use them for my smart TV to listen to Spotify and my turntable. It fills my whole home with very clear sound and the bass is suprisingly deep, so much you really have to turn it down some. The difference in quality between a song on Spotify vs the same song on the turntable is huge. It's such clear sound that if you close your eyes it literally sounds like the band is in the room playing for you.

All told I'm highly pleased with these speakers. I have yet to find a negative. Simple to set up, beautiful to listen to and look at, and affordable. What's not to like?

After having purchased the Fluance RT81 turntable in 2018 and being completely impressed with the quality of workmanship and most of all - the sound, I decided to start looking for something to connect it to other than my (Sony/JBL) home theater system. The sound with that was incredible. However, playing my vintage vinyl in surround sound - however pleasing it was, never really sat right with me. Stereo sound was so so because of my set up. So, after some intense research, I decided to go with the extremely versatile Ai60 High Performance Powered 6.5” Bookshelf Speakers. I have connected my RT81 to the Ai60's using the RCA inputs. The RT81 has a built in phone pre-amp so getting the turntable up and running was a snap. The sound is absolutely wonderful. Beautiful soundstage and excellent frequency response. I have no complaints whatsoever. I have not connected my subwoofer yet, and doubt if I will use it other than to try it out. Not really needed as these speakers have excellent low end response.

As an added bonus I connected my Yamaha CD changer using optical input with excellent results. No issues there either.

Bluetooth streaming was also easy to set up from my Samsung Note 8 android phone. Sound is also superb.

In closing I would give these aesthetically pleasing, superb sounding speakers an A+++++ rating. They shipped extremely quickly too. Had them in my hands the next business day! Good job again Fluance.

Great sound after the break-in period. Well built and look great. Might add a sub down the road for a little more bass.

Really good performance for the price. However, I wouldn’t consider the SQ as hi-fi, but rather enjoyable. They are nice to listen to and really nice to look at so they fit well in many decors, but soundwise, it lacks DR (they are underpowered). So I use them as bedroom TV speakers, and they really get the job done at low to medium volume, and great wife/husband acceptance factor. I wouldn’t use them as bookshelf speakers though, as they can’t replace speakers with generous legit AB amplification. But for the cost and convenience, they are hard to beat. Nice job Fluance!

Great sounding monitors, with plenty of power for small to medium rooms, in a great looking well built package. Love listening to them every day plugged in to my record player or streaming via Bluetooth.
If you are looking for excellent speakers at a fair price look no further.

Hopefully someone will find this review helpful. Before I start, yes I realize you might think they look large for a computer; they're also used to play while I'm elsewhere in the apartment.TL;DR - Yes. They're worth the $300 and sound great. Lots of sound. Clear. Bass is tight and sufficient. Impressed.WANTED:Been looking around the market for powered monitors for computer speakers.Willing to ultimately pay as high as $600 but looking for what could be had for less.I considered these options:COMPETITORS:1.) Vanatoo Transparent One Encores ($600)If you don't know about Vanatoo, they've only put out two speakers to date and they receive RAVE reviews. Small company. Would love to support them and give them my money.2.) AudioEngine A5+ Wireless ($500)Receiving solid reviews since... 2012? The new wireless version had my eyes because bluetooth.3.) Klipsh R-150PM ($500)Since the R-150PM's are no longer available from Klipsch, I wanted a powered monitor at the lease to avoid any DAC/AMP clutter at my already limited desk power options.DESIRED FEATURES:I prioritized these things:- Powered Monitors to not need an AMP or a DAC- Something with a decent woofer size (5' or +) for bass response- - These are in a sealed enclosure which is even more favorable to being mounted close to the wall- Higher Quality (wasn't looking to Logitech..)- Reputation, since I wouldn't be able to listen to them in person- Computer use, but plays loud enough without distorting so I can also wash dishes, clean, cartwheel while jamming.- Blueteeth (These use AptX codex I believe)I stumbled across the Fluance Ai60's thanks largely in part to Joe at Joe N Tell on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiifhxOzdk4&t=299sHis review referred to these as a 'Soundbar Annihilator'Although I wasn't looking for a soundbar the design caught my eye and I clicked.(Please, speaker makers, please make more white speakers. Also please check out Joe, his channel is awesome because he's passionate and does good work). The walnut/white combo and the glowing review from Joe, who does excellent and extensive work reviewing products, put them on my radar.Flash forward 72 hours and I pulled the trigger on the Ai60's (sorry Vanatoo, I really wanted to give you guys my cash.. but just trying to keep a budget for once). A LOT, not some, but A LOT of reviews for their smaller brothers the Ai40's called them 'The best speakers you can buy for $200'. Big boys, like Steve Guttenberg, Zeos Pantera, etc. gave them strong, unpaid recommendations. I decided to be one of the first to see how the Ai60's could punch in comparison to players $200-$300 above their weight-class.It's been about a week of tweaking, adjusting the speakers, seating, but I'm very impressed.SOUND:I let them 'burn in' for about a day of play time at medium volume.Played a number of tracks; 'Phil Collins - In the Air tonight', 'Seal - Dreaming in Metaphors ', ' Joe Jackson - Stepping Out', 'Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike', 'Sting - Desert Rose'. 'Saosin - Follow and Feel', 'Led Zeppelin - Ramble On'.It was the time of my life. An hour of just playing and enjoying music. Wow, Phil Collins.. I hadn't done that in a long time. They sound very clean. I played more music as I'm walking through my apartment and in other rooms, and the quality sound held. Good mid-range clarity. Bass was heard. Vocals were clear. They sounded very good for being a room or two away.I find it humorous when people leave nasty comments on YouTube sound tests: 'What's the point?' 'They sound the same as my speakers, how can you possibly tell?'. Watch some bad ones and you'll at least know what bad speakers sound like. The instruments blend together, it sounds murky almost as if it were playing under water. The Fluance Ai60's are clear. I can hear guitar strings being strummed, vocals are clear, symbols crash without blending into other highs, bass and frequency response (down to 35hz!) is low, tight, and can be heard resonating through the rest of my apartment if desired. It will not hit you in the chest like big stuff at a concert.I would think it's very sufficient for most (I myself though will be getting a small sub for my own tastes).FINAL NOTES:I think my father said it best today when he came by and saw them/heard them for the first time.He said two things:1.) 'Wow. Those look great'When I offered to play them with a little Temple of the Dog..2.) 'Is there a sub? No? You don't even need a sub'.Thank you Fluance. I'm really thankful for you guys offering a solid quality product at the price range you do. I would absolutely consider purchasing more speakers from you guys in the future. I've provided a few other glowing recommendations on Reddit. If YOU are in the market for some good powered computer speakers, which aren't your run of the mill Logitech's or would out-perform a typical 2.0 set-up, consider these. They look absolutely incredible.. (White & Walnut? Pfffft C'mon!) but they also sound great.Thank you for attending my TED Talk on the Fluance Ai60's.

After listening to them for a while, I must say I'm really pleased by this purchase. They just have everything you need without compromising on any aspect.

I was impressed by the amount of bass they pack considering the subwoofer output. Middles and highs also sound great so any music comes out good. They look and feel very well made and their setup takes only few minutes which makes them great to move around or take with you somewhere.

The only downside that I can think of would be the lack of front panel for protection (one of my tweeter dome was pushed in on arrival) and the bass and treble settings being only modifiable from the remote.

Exceeded my expectations. Absolutely wonderful sound.

Simply amazing sound. Haven't even hooked up yet to my subwoofer and this thing has some amazing feedback already. Bass heavy so that's a plus for me. You'll definitely appreciate upgrading from the ai40 or even a first time purchase of the ai60's.

Very good sound, good sound across the spectrum... nice quality, good size.

My only issue is the remote or the pairing electronics... my set is from the initial roll out a few months ago. That issue is not solved yet.
