The Fluance RT83 turntable is absolutely amazing. Everything from the unique S shaped tonearm to the aggressive anti skating feature. Don't forget the isolation feet which absorb any vibrations interfering with the play of the music. The most important feature is the Ortofon 2M Red stylus cartridge also interchangeable with the 2M Blue stylus cartridge. The sound that pours out of your speakers is heavenly. The only minus that I got from the turntable is that the platter was a little flimsy but not a deal breaker.

Tyler C January 19, 2023 Audiophile - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

I'm hearing things I've never heard before from songs I've been losing to for years. I've owned other turntables before. This one takes the cake so far. I switched out the head shell with a generic needle and that even sounded great. The Ortofon Red is a great needle but you may need to turn the bass up a bit. The Treble is perfect but the low end seems to not be there. The gloves and bubble level are a great touch. THIS IS HOW MUSIC SHOULD BE TREATED!

Can't stop playing it
Sounds just awesome

Robert January 18, 2023 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

I finally have a turntable that can let me play my vinyl Loud. My old Micro Seiko was great but the Fluance RT83 and acrylic platter shine. I bought two head shells so I can A-B my other cartridges. A AT530em and a Grado gold all thru a Marantz 2252 and four JBL L100T's. My 71 year old ears are happy. Vinyl is king and Fluance has crowned it.

Peter January 18, 2023 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Been away from vinyl for 22 years after leaving the UK, wanted back in, got the RT83W and set her up and haven't stop listening since, great clarity and excellent build quality, a player with excellent components that out performs its price well done Fluance

Tonio January 12, 2023 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years Ontario, Canada

Fast delivery from Fluance: living in Toronto, I received my RT83 within a week. So far, this is a really good product (which I upgraded from an old LP60), easy to assemble. Just struggled with adjusting the feet (4 stars for that) but the turntable was already pretty much levelled so not a big deal at the end. The auto stop function is a nice option!

James M January 6, 2023 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Pennsylvania, United States

Build quality is great at this price point, The Walnut glossy finish is very classy looking. I added an acrylic mat to replace the rubber one included. Arm seems very light but there are no issues. Speed is accurate. Worth the price.

Chandler December 29, 2022 Novice Listener - 1 Year Mississippi, United States

This is my wife’s first turn table. We set it up with my Emotiva TA1 integrated amp. I’m using the CSS Torri speakers that I built. The sound is good, but I think I need a better phono pre amp than the one in my amp. I’m going to try a Ifi Zen and see what that does. The quality, packaging, and shipping were great.

Thomas S December 27, 2022

Better than expected.

John G December 15, 2022

went from a 30+ year old Sony to this. works and sounds great. time to clean up some old vinyl and add more new ones.

Mark K December 7, 2022 Novice Listener - 1 Year New York, United States

This is my first Fluance turnable and I couldn't be happier. Shipping was fast, it was easy to set up and sounds amazing.

Mike M December 2, 2022

I'm really happy with the sound and build quality of this TT! It's absolutely beautiful and plays my albums really precisely, no dragging or skipping. Just follow the directions on how to set the tone arm pressure. I used a scale to set mine and it matched the weights on the unit perfectly.Just note, that if you're looking for an automatic TT, this isn't it. It's fully manual, other than stopping at the end of the album.

Ryan G November 23, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Montana, United States

This is my very first turntable. I went with with RT83 model in Bamboo and am very pleased with the Ortofon 2M red as my first phono cartridge. I can't give any comparison as this is my first experience, however this turntable has me hooked. I also like that you can piece by piece upgrade the turntable to match the top model and beyond. Great start to a wonderful hobby.

Robert November 13, 2022

Excellent sound and channel separation. Brings my old records to life again.

Mike M November 4, 2022

I'm REALLY happy with this turntable, the setup was easy and the aesthetics are beautiful. The finish is quality, the feet are adjustable and isolate well.I purchased a tonearm pressure gauge to set the tonearm weight, wanting to make sure everything was correct. I followed Fluance's instructions on how to set the tonearm and then checked it with the gauge, almost perfect! The adjustments are very precise.I've owned several vintage audiophile TTs over the years, and after my last one needed to be repaired, I decided to try a brand new one, this one was the right choice for me!Note: if your amplifier does not have a phono input, you'll need to purchase a separate phono preamp. This turntable doesn't have an onboard preamp. It won't work in an aux, tape, or CD input without an external preamp. It's also a completely manual unit, no auto start, or return.

Melissa M October 29, 2022 Novice Listener - 1 Year Pennsylvania, United States

Great turntable with great sound! Setup was easy and quick. Would highly recommend.

Dannyboy August 25, 2022

Make sure you get the right one for you. I originally ordered the Fluance with the pre-amp wanting to upgrade to the acrylic platter but it isn't possible with that model. I returned it for the RT83. I. Have an inexpensive system for vynal and the RRT83 is overkill with its red cartridge. I mounted a cheap Audio Technical high output cartridge with a conical stylus. My over 50 year collection sounds pristine. The Ortofon 2M Red was weak in the bass and brought out surface noise. A great turntable brings out the best in any cartridge. I am sure the Ortofon. M2 Red will be more appealing as I upgrade my system. I am using the Fluance acrylic platter, it makes a positive difference in sound.

EEzuk August 17, 2022

Excellent quality and a fair price. The bamboo finish is superbly done.

tyler h August 15, 2022

This table and well mainly the cartridge sounds wonderful. I was running the cheaper eOne table and it stopped working so I replaced it with this one. Couldn't be happier. Sound is so full and clear it's impressive. This table is great, Pricey but great.

Cathleen H August 9, 2022

I have really enjoyed this turntable. Overall easy to set up, getting the tone arm counterweight right took a few times but not bad.

Anthony M August 8, 2022

Great turntable. Sounds great, looks great, easy to set up and learn on. Don't hesitate buy this table.

Steve F July 28, 2022

Con I did look closer it doesn't return automatically

Dean K July 22, 2022

Fluance provides super easy instructions for set up, so you can get on to playing music.I love this turntable! Modern design and amazing sound!

Amanda R July 15, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 4 Years Texas, United States

Love love love. I was thinking to upgrade my turntable and saw a couple of TikToks about the Fluance brand. After that read reviews and decided to get the RT83. I do not regret it at all! It’s definitely an upgrade from what I had and it wasn’t hard at all to set it up.

Dan July 1, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

After having self inflicted issue setting up the tonearm I was amazed at the sound coming out of my speakers, clear, warm and dynamic sounds. I’m one happy camper. In closing read the instructions carefully I misread one word and caused myself an anxiety attack

Mr P June 23, 2022

We originally were going to return as really struggled to get it set up properly by following the instructions which seemed like it should have been easy. Eventually we did and sound quality seemed OK but rapidly got worse and it just won't play a lot of our old records that our old cheap player would play

Don W June 21, 2022 Audiophile - 20+ Years Texas, United States

So far I love my RT 83. It sounds amazing and it is beautiful. I was going to go with another brand at first but somehow came across Fluance online and after reading reviews decided to go with Fluance instead, I am so glad I did. Amazing quality product.

Todd J June 21, 2022

Wow, this is an amazing turntable. It will bring new life to your vinyl.

Whisenhunt June 15, 2022 Advanced Listener - 10 Years Tennessee, United States

Loved it! Had to hunt to find the cartridge taped under the styrofoam though. It took me a minite to figure out that the balance was done only with the rear weight. The calibration wheel was just used to measure the additional weight

Andrew P June 11, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years Colorado, United States

I received this turntable as a gift, and while the turntable itself is great, I really want to give kudos to the Fluance customer service team. This item was on pre-order, but the team at Fluance shipped out the turntable earlier than promised in order to help my friends receive this before my birthday. Thanks to the Fluance team!

Mariah M June 10, 2022 Advanced Listener - 10 Years Texas, United States

What an improvement from my Sony. Love the stylus.

Bill G. May 21, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Illinois, United States

Great turntable. I bought the rt83 and I’m glad I did. It’s fairly easy to set up and you can be playing your records in as little as 20 minutes after unboxing.

Venchit, S May 14, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 13 Years California, United States

Very satisfied. Sound quality is very good.

Martin L April 23, 2022

Excellent TT. Really good sound and glossy finished!!!. My setup is Cambridge Audio Solo pre, Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 and B&W 684 speakers. I love how it sounds.

Andrew M April 7, 2022

Easy to follow instructions included for initial setup. Playing it through a djpreII preamp and a set of edifier bookshelf speakers and it sounds fantastic!

rmackay March 31, 2022

This is a fantastic turntable with excellent sound. I connected it to my Denon receiver and very pleased with the high quality sound while I listen to my vinyl records. I highly recommend it.

jrfw March 19, 2022

have an old collection of rock albums from the seventy and eightys that ive been unable to access for a couple years. this turntable has put me back in business. set up was straight forward and simple enough...ample online tutorials were helpful. i still wish i would have sprung for the rt85 with the upgraded cartridge and acrylic platter but the grass is always greener. over all i am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this to a friend

John D March 19, 2022

Sound and build quality is wonderful

Amazon Customer March 14, 2022

Don't know what else to say. The metal tip arrived broken.

Chris P March 1, 2022

Waited 24 years for the kids to be old enough for me to get an excellent quality turntable. Sounds amazing. Great value. Highly recommend

Jeff a February 24, 2022 Audiophile - 20+ Years Michigan, United States

This turn table is awesome, everything about this item is top quality! Very cool!

JGR February 18, 2022

Quality? The best!Sound? Audiophile level!Think about it as standard for the phono is coming with one of the best needled of the all times: ORTOFON STYLUS 2M RED! It's beautiful in white .. not more advise that you need to buy this phone to come to next level of the sound and real lover of the music!

Jeffrey February 18, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Missouri, United States

Welcome back to vinyl! Simple and does what it needs to do. I like that the RCA cables are not integrated in the system. I needed to set up a little distant from my amp. I do wish it had auto return but that’s just a first world problem. It sounds great and even tracks on my ancient vinyl.

Sergei P February 17, 2022

It sounds great!

WILLIAM February 6, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

Love this turntable, replaced an Audio-technica LP-60.
Love the Ortofon Red, it is lively and detailed. pushing through vintage Realistic. Gonna get a phono pre-amp to update the electronics.

Bill C. February 5, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Alabama, United States

From the moment you open the box you know you are dealing with quality. Set up is easy and everything fits tight and operates smoothly. The sound is phenomenal running directly through my Pure Tube amplifier from Monoprice. It’s everything I expected and more. I look forward to years of listening enjoyment.

Mac February 3, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Great turntable, great sound and great looking!

A. T. February 3, 2022 Advanced Listener - 7 Years New Jersey, United States

The turntable didn’t spin. I reached for support and received nothing useful. I ended up taking it to the turntable repair shop to see what’s up. Don’t recommend.

Brian B January 30, 2022

I set it up in minutes and it sounds great.

Jayson L. January 28, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

The motor is SILENT! I have never had a turntable that was this quiet. I am really enjoying the sound reproduction from the Ortofon cartridge/stylus. It also looks great as furniture; the turntable sits in a highly visible place in my living room. the attractive and sleek design makes me smile every time I walk past it. It is exciting to pull out my records again!

Greg S January 15, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New Brunswick, Canada

This turntable is a piece of art in its looks, it’s function, tone and nuances. I’m so impressed with its sound, how solid it is and quality of the turntable. Setup was a breeze, customer service was awesome and I’m am more than satisfied with this purchase. I had an M2 Blue cartridge from another turntable. So i purchased a second head so I can easily swap between the two heads. This makes listening to the same record a new experience as I hear different nuances from each needle.

Handyman January 12, 2022

I purchased a Fluance TR83 Turntable in bamboo along with a bamboo set of Fluance Ai61 powered speakers. The system is fabulous. Initially, I also purchased the Fluance PA10 Hi-Fi Phono Preamp. However, I could not listen to my vinyl records occasionally through headphones. The Dynasty Proaudio UA2D Preamp is a perfect choice. The TT arrived well-packaged. I was able to put it together and balance the tone arm in less than 20 mins. The written instructions are easy to follow or you can view assembly via YouTube. I'm not sure my old ears could distinguish the higher priced models, but my 60-year old vinyl sounds just as I remembered the sound, snap, crackle and pops in all the familiar places. I HIGHLY recommend Fluance from our Canadian pals. You will not be disappointed.

john r January 8, 2022

It looks good, sounds good, was easy to set up, I have 4 turntables, nothing super fancy, but this is the best sounding and is hooked up in the room I use it most

Tom g December 30, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Michigan, United States

The product is a let down for me. I bought the rt83. I read over and over about the quality of the player. I was going to purchase an audio technica player, but I went with the rt83 to support a smaller NA company. The build quality is awesome. However the oroton 2m stylus is absolute rubbish. It picks up all surface noise. I washed my records and I used a carbon fiber brush before each play and there is still a lot of pops and static. I have the tracking and anti skid at the recommended settings per fluance. The turn table is balanced as well. I wrote support a week ago and I haven't heard anything back. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt due to the holidays. I have an audio technica lp60 and I have zero issues with noise and extreme popping on my records.

Steve M. December 27, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

I'd seen several friends move to Fluance decks, and I needed a replacement deck. I chose the RT83 as a nice middle ground and opted for the white finish, even though the Fluance site noted an approximate six week lead time at that point. Much to my surprise, I received a shipping notice within a week!
The unit looks good, sounds great, and has seen lots of use in the six months that it's been in the house. The RT83 hasn't skipped a beat in that time.
I might change to a cork mat or an acrylic platter at some point, but the unit performs wonderfully as-is. Do yourself a favor and get one for your setup!

Paula H. December 18, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 4 Years Illinois, United States

So glad that I picked this one, the sound is great!!

Jerry E December 17, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

I had a nice DJ table, but wanted something that would stop on it's own, as I tend to wander off and forget. This looks SOOO much nicer, and was very easy to set up and balance. I don't have it into a high end component system, but I can still hear the difference, including that the records actually sound cleaner now. And yes, the stop works very well!

Amazon Customer December 9, 2021

It took a little extra time to balance the tone arm, but once I got the hang of it then everything is fine. The turntable is has a reasonable price. The sound does not match the performance of my Music Hall, but it is half the price. So no complaints.

Jack C December 7, 2021 Vermont, United States

First turntable in decades, very happy with the sound and build quality.

Jerry D October 21, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Tennessee, United States

Great turntable for the money. Good quality and a very thoughtful build. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you Fluance.

Sid, L October 13, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

I bought my first "stereo" in the 1970s. I didn't have the money to buy anything worthwhile. I always heard pops and static. I thought that was the way LPs sounded after many uses. In the 1980s I bought CDs and thought this was the way of the future. So clean but missing the top and bottom end.

I decided to come back to vinyl and did a fair amount of research on turntables and listen to what users where saying for this price point. All seem to point to Fluance. As someone who is not prepared to invest into a hobby that can be expensive, I was hesitant to purchase a good turntable.

The reviews were spot on! My old LPs are playable. I thought they were ruined. With proper cleaning, I have been able to enjoy music as it were the first time. I will upgrade to the next the Frosted Acrylic Platter soon.

My soul has never been happier.

Bruce K. October 9, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Arizona, United States

Product came very well packaged with a very well-written manual to get things set up. Had a bit of trouble balancing the tone arm but it was operator error due to inexperience. Video's on youtube helped out. Love the new piano white color and the sound is fantastic. I'm all about getting value for my money, and Fluance tables are impossible to beat for the money!

Jon R October 8, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years North Carolina, United States

Awesome turntable that is budget friendly but is a high end piece of equipment.

Tim B September 24, 2021

Clear, powerful sound. Stylish look.

George D September 20, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Jersey, United States

All was great, but anti-scaring would not set.

Brent from customer service quickly, and competently resolve my issue. One of my best customer service experiences ever.

Great sound! I love the easy setup, cool stance, great looks.

Josh E. August 11, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 11 Years Texas, United States

Great clarity an easy to setup.

Bobby D August 10, 2021

I waited and waited to finally spring for a new high end record player. I love the sound quality that comes out of this unit. The Ortofon 2M Red cartridge is superior sound quality.

Jacqueline K August 8, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

The auto-stop hasn’t ever worked but overall this is a great turntable.

Shelly L August 6, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

The quality of workmanship and materials is outstanding. Fluance’s video instructions are wonderful and made the set-up a breeze. Cannot recommend their products strongly enough!

William C August 4, 2021

I've owned many turntables including Oracle, MMC, Denon this is unexpectedly fine for the price. Not my first choice for a beginner's turntable, but perfect for an audiophile on a budget.

Ryan July 16, 2021

Great lp player. Great sound quality. Recommend it if you are looking a good all around player

Howard I June 23, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Missouri, United States

Beautiful turntable with quiet great performance.

Big R June 22, 2021

My dad is getting along in age and enjoys listening to his old records. This is overkill for that but he enjoys the sound again, so it perfect for what it does. You have to set it up but once done it works great, feels solid and durable. Highly recommend it if you have a need to listen to music on vinyl. Worth more than I paid in my opinion, seeing my dad enjoying his music again.

Michael June 10, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Louisiana, United States

Feedback is a big problem that I can't resolve. Have to play my records at a very low volume and have the bass set way below flat. My old turntable did not have this issue at all, so I had to hook my old back up and buy a new cartridge. Should have tried to return it sooner (bought in 04-21) but was trying all sorts of things to eliminate the feedback.
Now I am stuck with it because I waited too long.

Andrew J. June 4, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Minnesota, United States

Loving it. Sounds great. Looks great. Easy set up.

Jenna June 1, 2021 Audiophile - 13 Years Oregon, United States

I was really afraid to drop this much money on replacing my old hitachi direct drive turntable, but I'm pleasantly surprised. I really love the RT83, looking at it makes me smile because of how beautiful and well crafted it is. I don't here any motor rumble or anything like that, and not having to mess with the speed is great. The included cable is high quality as well.

Mathew C May 31, 2021

Fantastic sound, works well; great design.

Russ D. May 25, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Alberta, Canada

I'm probably the least techie person there is but even I found it easy to put everything together & make it operational. And I could not be happier with the end result. Highly recommended.

JohnE May 15, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

Love it. Sound is great with the 2m red stales. good price for what you get.

Jason J. May 15, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Maryland, United States

My new turntable is great. Relatively easy to set up with support provided by Fluance. Very happy with the purchase.

David I May 14, 2021

This Fluance sounds fantastic! I literally close my eyes and feel transported into the boothe where the music was made and cut! Having listened to streamed music for the last decade, i'm only realizing how much richness, depth and clarity i have been missing out on! Set up took me sometime only because I was afraid of messing it up but it was straight forward and successful on first trial. My powered AMP is not even that great but makes the music sound exquisite. That will be my next upgrade. I love my RT83W!!!!!

Jason April 28, 2021

Beautifully made I have the walnut finish and it's amazing looking and seems well built loving mine so far.

Chris K. April 28, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Pennsylvania, United States

I am not an audiophile, more of an enthusiast. Assembly and installment was relatively easy, the instructions were very straight forward. When I put on the first album, the sound quality absolutely blew me away. I LOVE my new Fluance turntable!

Steve April 24, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Wisconsin, United States

This player sounds fantastic! I am hearing nuances from my albums that I have not heard before and the clarity is phenomenal. It pairs well with my Denon receiver through the phono input and Klipsch speakers. Also love listening through headphones as well.

The set-up was easy (highly recommend watching the videos on YouTube in addition to using the manual.) Had a small issue with the hinges creaking when opening the lid, but contacted customer service and they sent me new hinges immediately! Really responsive and the problem is solved!

Added bonus, it looks really nice in our family room and my wife said yesterday, “I am really liking having this here. I love listening to albums way more than I thought I would.” It has been like rediscovering music. I should mention that I am a musician by trade and my entire work life has been in the music industry, so to say “rediscovering musicl is not just some catchy phrase. It really is like something new after years in music.

Terry W April 23, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Alberta, Canada

This turntable was every bit as good as all the reviews I've read and watched on youtube. And that's high praise indeed. The setup was flawless and the sound is marvellous. I highly recommend it! The only improvement for me would have been if the signal cable was just a little bit longer ... it does reach in my setup, but just.

MV April 6, 2021

Not only did this product perform beyond expectations, but looks just take it to the next level, completely satisfied. Great job Fluance!

NLQO April 3, 2021

Horrible customer service. Keep that box. First the platter was dented so after 2 weeks of writing them literally sending them a message every day only getting one back 3 days at a time only to received a scratched up replacement that is justvas bad then it completely brakes the needle in half kn my cartridge and even though they say there is a 2 year warrantee apparently this didn't qualify even though in writing they admitted the second platter was also warped and asked me to use a peice of equipment I don't even have to measure the arm which has no relevance to the platter? This place is a joke. It is all made in China they make you seem like it's Canadian made. Save your self some money.

Louis p March 6, 2021

Très bonne table à très bon prix, look très classe. J’ai ajouté le plateau en acrylique.

Pelkey February 23, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Washington, United States

Amazing turntable!

Melissa S February 11, 2021

Depending on the album im listening to, there is a huge difference. I'll be recommending this to every one. If you watch the video that I attached to this review you can get a good idea of how well the music reproduction is.

Todd J. December 21, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Kentucky, United States

Excellent value for the money. Quality item. My only issue was the ability to change out the cartridge. Don't get me wrong the 2m Red is a very good cartridge, but I also have a few AT that I would have liked to use to compare the sound. Those are not compatible with the RT 83.

Corina G December 19, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

Great record player! Very stylish looking!

Stephane, D December 6, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years New Brunswick, Canada

I really love my RT83 turntable. It's built solid, easy to assemble and love the adjustable legs that reduce vibrations and helps to make the player level.

Tony R December 5, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

I up graded from a standard $100.00 Sony record player to the RT83 and wow what difference in quality, and much more important the quality of sound.

JK November 16, 2020

Well made, looks beautiful and the sound is rich and warm.

Annie H November 13, 2020

Very easy to install. Well packaged and reproduces the music excellent.

Mike C November 11, 2020

Good turntable very well made and great sound excellent

Kevin B November 10, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Great performance of this table has gotten me back into vinyl. Beautiful construction. Dead quiet. Constant speed. Only the thing I could add is if your are intending to upgrade the platter and stylus go for the RT 85 right from the start...great value! Happy Listening.

Amazon Customer November 4, 2020

I love love love this turntable! And if all you care about is getting a great deal, you could hardly do better. However, I ended up spending a lot more money because once I had the RT83, I realized that I really wanted the acrylic platter that comes with the RT85 as well as the more expensive phono cartridge that also comes with the RT85. NOW if you buy the 85 to begin with you'll pay $150 more than for the RT83. BUT you get about $350 worth of good stuff for your extra expenditure. So you know yourself and I don't know you. If you will be content with the RT83 then it's great deal. But if like me you will find yourself wishing you had bought the top of the line, you will save money if you buy it to begin with.

Jesse C November 1, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

the set up on this is tough....Still have not got it calibrated not sound dragged....First player in a long time, very disappointed. And yes, I've balanced and calibrated it twice.

Richard C October 30, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years California, United States

After research on YouTube from various video blogs reviewing Fluance turntable, I couldn’t be anymore happier with buying a Fluance for myself. So happy I made this investment for myself!

Sammy N October 22, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Louisiana, United States

It plays beautifully. The sleek look fits perfectly. It took a while to put it together but when it was finished it was pretty. When it arrived it with a cracked dusk cover but the customer service was great as sending a new one.

Clinton H October 20, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

The reference turntables are elegant and pleasing to the eyes. The unit has good weight and solid construction as well. The unit has an S-shaped tone arm which allows versatility in upgrading outside of the recommended selection of cartridges. This is very important. The automatic stop is an excellent feature and is difficult to find in other tables. The 30 seconds automatic stop time would work better at 5 seconds in my opinion. I had several questions concerning the turntable and Julie in customer service did very well in either answering or finding the answers for me, thank you.

Replaced an old turntable with this beautiful RT83 and couldn't be happier. Sound is more defined and it brings out the best in my old vinyl records. Thanks

I purchased the RT83 after considering the different Fluance models as well as other brands. I first considered the RT82 based on the list of features: great sounds, no built in pre-amp, ease of set up, ease of upgrade. I then decided that the Ortofon 2M Red was worth the immediate upgrade, so I sprang for the RT83. The set up went smoothly as expected, and the sound quality is top notch. I expect to upgrade to the acrylic platter down the line, but for now the RT83 works wonderfully right out of the box.

Gordon M. September 14, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Brunswick, Canada

I did a lot of research in my quest to find a new turntable, and I finally chose the RT83. I honestly could not be more pleased with my purchase. The build quality is impressive, the sound is amazing and it looks fantastic. Thank you Fluance for providing me with another high quality product that I plan to enjoy for years to come.

Word S September 14, 2020

I bought the RT-83 about 8 months ago. The first unit I received had what I would consider excessive platter wobble. After going back and forth with their customer service department about the issue, they sent me a new unit at no extra cost. The platter wobble is far less noticeable on the replacement unit, so there's obviously some variance in the tolerance at the factory where they are built. This is my first turntable purchase and so I have a limited perspective regarding how it sounds compared to other units of similar cost. What I will say is that it has worked flawlessly since I bought it and sounds good to my ears through my Yamaha Aventage series integrated amp. I think a lot of the credit for that goes to the Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. Though not the best cartridge you can buy, it delivers accurate sound with good low, mid, and high end frequency reproduction. Depending on the pressing, you get a room-filling sense of space and volume that's missing from the more compressed sound inherent in MP3's and digital streaming services like Spotify. It has made me a believer in the superiority of vinyl, but again: that's highly dependent on the quality of the pressing.Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and it's nice to know that I can upgrade the platter and cartridge if I so choose to in the future. The only thing that I would improve on is the tone arm assembly. Though the arm itself is metal, the assembly is made of plastic and feels a bit cheap. Still, I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to get into vinyl without breaking the bank. Note: make sure you buy a decent gauge to dial in the downforce of the stylus. Makes all the difference when set right and will save unnecessary wear on your records.

I've quickly become a big fan of Fluance products. The quality of the RT83 table rivals those of $400-500 tables I've seen elsewhere. It looks and sounds absolutely beautiful, and I've already received multiple compliments from friends who are talking about purchasing this table for themselves.

Will G September 11, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Connecticut, United States

As an old audio lover, I have had a number of tables back in the 70's and 80's but not had a table since. Did a lot of research before deciding on this model and I am blown away by the quality and value.

Amazon Customer September 9, 2020

I brought this to replace my Audio Technica LP120x which wasn't a bad turntable but as soon as I saw the Fluance I knew it was the one to have long term. I went for the RT83 but if I could have stretched to the RT85 I would. If you can do it as it makes financial sense as the Ortofon blue cartridge is £185 and the acrylic platter is another £100. The RT85 is £150 more that the RT83......no brainer

Jeff T September 9, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Ontario, Canada

I started my turntable journey about six weeks ago. I started with a very popular introductory model and was not very impressed with it for many reasons including skipping and lack of adjustments.
I returned it for a more advanced model of the same brand and was initially impressed with it's performance, but for the price I wasn't impressed with the build quality and attention to detail on it.
I found out about Fluance and realized for about the same price I could have a much nicer piece of equipment! A real work of art. A center piece in my audio experience.
I chose the RT83 as the best point of entry in the reference turntable lineup. It had a nice stylus/cartridge in the Ortofon Red and still fit within my budget!
I was very impressed with how fast it shipped out and the level of attention of the packaging it arrived in, the white gloves were a nice touch!
I am blown away on just how good this turntable sounds! Maybe it's the real wood plinth or the needle? either way it's very impressive for the money! Highly recommend Fluance to anyone looking for a new turntable!

Roger September 5, 2020

bought this to replace a dual 506, for the price I dont think you can beat it, every component seems to be high quality, super easy to operate and sound is excellent

Freddy D. September 1, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Illinois, United States

This unit has everything you want, speed is right on the money and the cartridge supplied is awesome. And if the great sound wasn’t enough, it’s a very handsome looking turntable. The walnut plinth matches the rest of my gear nicely. Don’t fall for those other guys, after weighing all the options, and doing extensive research - there is no question, Fluance rules!

Bill N September 1, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Oregon, United States

What a great turntable. I bought the RT 83 to replace a broken Technics SL-BD22 which was a real workhorse of a turntable.
I'm almost embarrassed to say that I am happy the the Technics broke, because I would have never known what I was missing. The sound quality and workmanship of the RT83 are excellent. Actually I was a bit skeptical about all the great reviews on your website but I am now a believer. I'm playing all my old records and having the same experience that I had 50 years ago when they were new.

Jose A August 31, 2020

Growing up in the 70's and early 80's, the living room's record player was my favorite toy, the hours spent and the listening experiences formed my Love for Music.I was looking to replicate this sound experience and invested on this beautiful turntable after carefully comparing the Fluance models and reading buyer's reviews. There are cheaper and pricier models and other brands offer the same or even better experience. This model should be everything you need while considerately paying less than other super high fidelity models. The turntable's design is extremely sharp and its solid weight is indicative of its quality, the glossy black surface is beautiful to see. Each step in the assembly to include the proper leveling and calibrating of the turntable is detailed with images and easy to follow.I bought a mini pre-amp for less than $25 and connected the turntable to my Yamaha receiver. The sound experience was a success return to the good old days; this record player is Amazing and you don't need to spend $400 or more, I'm certain Fluance's lesser models deliver the sound indicated and most reviews are very positive. Get One!

I replaced my vintage turntable with the RT-83 after long consideration. I prefer vintage equipment but got tired of the issues that come along with it. So after looking at this table for over a year I decided to take the plunge and Boy am I glad I did!! I went for the walnut cuz it looks like vintage and matches the look of my old one, Except is the RT Is much prettier! I’ve had mine for about 3 weeks and I’ve played almost all my records on it so far. The RT sounds Amazing!! Astonishing! It handles All genres of music Perfectly! I use an acrylic platter and record weight as well. I’m sure it sounds fine without these but it only makes the bass tighter and reduces vibration on old records. The Ortifon Red cart, is absolutely fantastic! I was concerned it would amplify the imperfections of my old records but NO! It makes them sound better! I originally thought that no auto return would be an issue but I actually Love this feature! It just stops after about 30 seconds and stays put. My old one would Rip the needle off the record on my 180 gram records, so the auto return feature was hurting my records on the old table. So I don’t have to worry about that anymore. I am having So much fun throwing on my collection record after record and hearing them sounding better than Ever! Keeping it simple, the RT-83 is such a solid well built turntable! I’m in love!

I was looking for a new turntable for a while. I decided I should give the Fluance a try and I'm really happy about how good it is. I thought I would change the cartridge as I has a Ortofon Red on another table and did not like it that much. To my suprise, the pairing of the Red with the Fluance table is absolutly great, so I'm not thinking about changing it anymore. Maybe I will upgrade for the Blue one day.

After years of delaying only to be followed by two weeks of staring at my boxed Fluance, I finally resolved the logistical challenges and set out to unbox and turn on the turntable. It is paired to a Sony STR-DH190 which won me over because of the phono input, the price and the reviews.

I chose Fluance because it is gorgeous, it's nothing but positive reviews, the price and it’s Canadian.

Delivery was super rapid after a late evening online order.

Setting it up had me nervously watching videos and I experienced a bit of a challenge balancing the tonearm. This was resolved once I set the tracking to zero as recommended in a user manual tip.

It is wonderful to sit back and listen to my long-forgotten vinyl!

Shawn C August 11, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years North Carolina, United States

I am absolutely in love with my RT83 turntable. It has all of the beauty of the older turntables and the features of a turntable 2 or 3 times the price. It is as beautiful as it is warm, crisp, and genuine in sound and sonics.

Brian T August 11, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Upgrade from Sony Direct Drive due to not much choices in P-mount cartridges.

Set up is straight forward, but I use a digital stylus scale to set the tracking weight accurately.

Noticed the rotation is not consistent. I recorded the same album twice with Audacity, and the duration can differ up to 2 seconds for each side. However it is not noticeable aurally. Using an RPM app shows the wow-flutter up to 0.4% (!). Recording with Sony direct-drive (with Quartz lock) do not have this speed drift problem.

The output level of 2M red is also a bit high compared with my old Grado Black. It drives my Hagerman Bugle-2 phono preamp to clipping at 40dB gain. Have to re-configure via resistor change to 38dB gain.

This higher level output may be why many people find the turntable/cartridge dynamic sounding. It is also a bit on the bright side and sounded dry with classical music. Surface noise is also quite high at around -50dB, worse than Grado cartridge. Quite noticeable with headphone at louder volume. But you have to put your ear near to speaker to hear it.

That's probably the reason Fluance PA10 preamp is set at 38dB gain. However 2M red may have problem with other preamps in the similar price range such as Pro-ject phono box MM (40dB).

Overall, it is value for money and good for listening to rock genre music with deep bass via speaker.

After having not owned a turntable for over 20 years I was told about Fluance from a friend and boy am I glad they directed me here!

The turntable is very well built and there is obvious evidence to the attention to detail that they put into their products. The sound quality is superb and the build quality is solid.

Having come back to vinyl after all these years is truly amazing and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a well built, great sounding, and quality turntable at an affordable price!

Jim G. August 7, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

Very pleased with the performance and sound. It just brings a smile when listening. Something that has to be experienced listening through a quality turntable and stylus. Fluance has hit it out of the park.

ok but for a small bit more a rega or orbit , or pro ject is a better value. also if you have any problems they wont help you if you buy item from amazon. not a great experience. wish i would of bought something else. on the other hand the thing is built like a tank and was very easy to set up. aveerage value.

Tl:dr - I highly recommend the Fluance RT-83. The sound quality and design make this truly worth the investment. Anyone upgrading from a basic player will be sure to find the improved audio they were searching for.I started a record collection about 2 years before purchasing the record player I'm reviewing (Fluance RT-83). My goal was to bring a little more ceremony into my music listening and I felt like vinyl would do the trick. I had a decent pair of speakers and a nice receiver but was using a clunky base model Sony record player. I don't remember the model but paid about 90$ at Best Buy for it.Upon researching multiple models and looking into what made a record player good (FYI a big part of it, is the needle), I chose the fluance rt-83. It was about 100$ more than I was planning to spend but ended up being worth the upgrade. The most influential review I read had stated that this model was the first player that you would truly notice a difference in sound quality. Why? Because of the needle. The ortofon 2m red cartridge costs more than my previous player as a whole. It is an elliptical needle tipped with diamond. This promises a durable but dynamic needle that is capable of hitting higher frequencies than less expensive conical tipped needles. The sound produced by this needle and player is warm and brought a new level appreciation to this older technology. The other notable feature of this player is the adjustable counterweight for the tone arm. It may not seem like a huge feature, but it can save records over the long term. Lower end record player's needles lay on the record, dragging the needle along the surface of the vinyl. The RT-83 and alike have needles that are suspended and do not apply pressure to the record and preserve the quality. The adjustable legs, the drive motor, the wooden finish... all of these features really make this player a joy to experience visually and audibly. My final note: watch Fluance's set up video. It will be faster and easier than following the written directions.

I originally bought this as a novelty but I find myself listening to it more and more. In fact I wish I had spent the extra money and got the 85. A buddy has the 85 and I think it sounds a bit better. Either way this turntable is perfect for the casual listener. I will be upgrading it with the Blue cartridge soon.

Lovely piano black finish to match a new Sony ES Receiver and other components, including new Definitive piano black surround system speakers also recently purchased. All was as advertised in appearance, set up, and use. Just a very quiet and sturdy turntable that steps aside so you can hear all that is on the vinyl through the 2M Red cartridge mounted on the articulate S shaped tonearm. I'm down with the entire design of this turntable in the price range I was looking to invest. This turntable effortlessly punches well above it's weight. It was part of a new system upgrade as I have just gone into retirement and am beginning to enjoy, again, the things I've always loved most and have been passionate about; music and the many, many fine artists out there sharing their talents with the world. I don't listen to albums as background, I listen purposely and critically and let the music take me where it wants to go. The RT83 was the perfect complement to this recent system upgrade, leaving room to upgrade further to a 2M Blue stylus if I so choose. I'm a very happy camper.

Jeff W. July 8, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Arizona, United States

50+ years old and I wonder what took me so long to get back into vinyl. I've had my RT-83 for a couple weeks and absolutely love it. It looks and sounds fantastic. Glad to be back in the saddle. After years of listening to lesser quality but 'easier to access' music, I find myself looking forward to actually hearing the music again. Well worth the investment.

Had my rt83 for about a month now and I haven't enjoyed my jazz collection so much in years .so if you are in the market for a great turntable I reccomend the fluance rt83.

Jim V July 8, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

I cannot say enough great things about this company and the turntable I bought from them!

Back in the 80's I was an audio engineer in NYC and unfortunately traded most of my record collection in for CD's (ughh...-) as everyone was so excited about digital coming of age....

Well, flash-forward to now and I was desperate to actually hear again that same vibration that came from that vocal or instrument and not a "sample" of it so I started researching turntables and came across Fluance from a co-worker.

The turntable is solid, well made, affordable, and sounds absolution fantastic through my old Proton amp.

I would recommend this turntable to anyone looking to recapture (or discover!) what real analog audio can sound like!

Sam S July 8, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Maryland, United States

Great turntable! I was recommended this one and I am thrilled with it. The build quality is fantastic and the features you get for the price are great. Setup was very straightforward and very easy along with the youtube setup guide. Plays great and no problems with any of my records. Would definitely recommend!

Larry Z July 7, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

Beautiful turntable that is simple to set up, works great and even though I tried, I was unable to detect any hum whatsoever. This is an excellent unit at a terrific price. The RT85 with the M Blue Ortofon and the ceramic platter was tempting, but this former audiophile is completely satisfied with the RT83.

Luke July 7, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 12 Years Ontario, Canada

Customer Service was amazing. I purchased the RT82 in Walnut. The next day I got a call saying it was out of stock. Instead of leaving it there and forcing me to get the black version they gave me an upgrade to the RT83 at no extra cost. LOVE the turntable. It was easy to set up and it sounded beautiful.

David G July 5, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

I have, to date, purchased 5 turntables from Fluance. It's a long story....don't ask. The RT83 is my latest purchase. All I can say is, with all of my Fluance turntable purchases for family and friends, they have all been beautiful turntables that sounded fabulous! The RT83 is no exception to the rule. I bought the glossy piano black model and it's a stunning beauty and sounds even better. It has all been said by others so I'll stop here. All I'll say is if you're looking for the most value for the money you're about to spend......and I mean a beautiful looking turntable with magnificent sound at a reasonable price.....don't look any further than Fluance. And no, I don't work for the company.

Larry Z July 5, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

I am extremely happy with my RT83. It is a beautiful piece of equipment that works great and as hard as I have tried, I have not been able to detect any hum whatsoever. The RT 85 may be the better bang for the buck with the M Blue cartridge and the ceramic platter, but the RT 83 completely satisfies me.

Pure joy to be listening to my vinyl again. Very easy to set up, instructions were clear. The sound is terrific, warm quality. Nothing short of a time machine that transported me back to the 60’s. From Liverpool to Woodstock, just great to be listening to my vinyl again.

william L June 26, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Alberta, Canada

So much to say about this table. The RT 83 competes in a crowed 500 dollar market but offers so much more value. The motor is dead quite, and 0 hum. The plinth has some weight to it an with the legs very stable. The assembly instruction very complete, and the styli's was pre mounted and spot dead on. So a lot of this is available else where, so moving on to the adjustable anti skating feature, replaceable head shell, the ability to chose a cartage and of course the gloves to keep finger prints down make this the best value in a turn table out there. i can honestly say that for the money this purchase has exceeded my expectations to the point of purchasing a second turn table for another room. Job well done FLUANCE will be talking to you soon. Almost forgot the sound is increadable.

Colin W June 25, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Brunswick, Canada

I have had the Walnut RT-83 for a few weeks now and I love it more every time I use it! The turntable looks fantastic and sounds even better. The Walnut finish is very attractive and the overall table is great. I was impressed by the care taken with the packaging and overall presentation of the turntable. Setup was a breeze and took about 20 mins just because I was being very cautious especially balancing the tonearm.
I am using it with an Art DJ Pre II Phono preamp and the combination sounds great. The turntable speed is consistent and the Ortofon Red cartridge sounds really good. I have about 40 hours of listening on the deck so far and it is consistently sounding good.
I am super happy with my decision to go with a Fluance turntable and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one or recommend it to others! Looking forward to enjoying this with my vinyl collection for many years.

Jim R June 24, 2020 Washington, United States

I am a really old guy who is picky, beyond belief when it comes to High End Audio. I have been collecting Marantz, McIntosh, Thorens and other high end equipment since 1972.
After numerous disappointments with various new turntables, specifically Denon, I believed that everything today was simply sub standard. My new Fluance RT-83 with its Ortofon Blue cartridge exceed all expectations.
My friends, great turntables at stunningly low prices are manufactured in 2020 by Fluance. I plan to now purchase a RT-85 to enhance my second audio system.

Rod June 21, 2020

The RT-83 is the absolute best value for an audiophile-level turntable. In my opinion, it is the sweet spot in the Fluance turntable line, having the servo motor and Ortofon red. It is same as the more expensive RT-85 which upgrades to Ortofon blue and acrylic platter. It is lightweight, lovely to look at, easy to set up and a true bargain in the world of high-end audio. Okay, the white gloves are a bit much (not needed or used). I would rather Fluance included a paper or plastic alignment protractor with a pre-punched hole for checking the stylus. Of course, if you like the Ortofon red cartridge that comes with the turntable, it is pre-aligned and ready to play, so that's not really an issue for most folks. I kept looking for the belt in the packaging, but was unable to find it. Then I read the clear and simple assembly instructions and found it already mounted on the edge of the platter. Ingenius! Other belt-drive turntables make you reach through a hole in the platter and use a toothpick to stretch the belt over the idler arm in the belly of the housing. I was surprised again to find a miniature level in the package to help with the set up. Did Fluance think of everything? Not quite. There is no indentation or anything to signify placement of the 45rpm adapter, so I just set it on the corner of the turntable behind the tonearm. Of course, there is no automatic return of the tonearm. There is a feature that is supposed to turn off the turntable after 30 seconds or so of the stylus hitting the end of the record. I always lift the stylus off the record with the cue lever long before that feature kicks in, so I cannot verify that it works. It is nice to know it's there, however, lest I should fall asleep while listening. Once you manually return the tonearm to its plastic resting place, the platter stops rotating. To restart rotation, you have to manually move the tonearm over the beginning grooves of the record and lower it onto the record with the very nicely damped cue lever. This is old school true manual turntable, so It means up and down off the sofa during listening sessions. At my age, I count this as exercise. So I don't know if this is the best turntable for beginners who may prefer pushing a button and have automatic tonearm placement to start and auto return and shut off. The Ortofon red is a good tracking, nice-sounding cartridge which retails for around $100, which makes this package a steal. I prefer the sound of my old AT 440 MLa, so I purchased an extra headshell and now have the Ortofon as a back up all mounted and pre-aligned. To say I am pleased with this turntable would be an understatement. I highly recommend it. It makes me wonder if Fluance loudspeakers are as good for the price.

I wanted to see what type of audiophile system one could build with the existing offered products on Amazon. I'm a 65 year old collector of vintage audio equipment and have amassed some very nice high end audio. Very happy with this purchase. Had long planned on a Pro-Ject Debut or entry level Rega and didn't know much about Fluance as a brand. I currently own a Thorens TD-185 from around 2003 - which is also a decent turntable. Upon opening the RT83 I found the plinth (base) significantly heavier than my Thorens - awesome! Assembly by instructions was easy for me (15 min) but may be harder for those not accustomed to working on gear. Comes with gloves so you dont muck anything up! All parts and connections felt secure and high-quality. The first plays were also impressive. Ortofon red is slightly crisper than the older 10m on my other TT and continues to provide enough detail to satisfy my modest audiophile needs. The auto-stop is a GREAT feature for a non-automatic TT and to my knowledge not very common among other products at similar price. All in all, I saved $50 compared to the Pro-Ject and feel I got a very slightly better TT (mainly due to auto-stop). I've only done about 30 hours listening in just over a week and will update if issues arise. For newbs, note the RT83 has no internal preamp so you need a receiver with one (phono input). Also, auto-stop works 98% of the time but not 100% because all records don't have the same runout grooves. It's not a flaw, just common sense.

Received this as a gift for my 30th birthday. This is the best record player I've ever owned! The sound is phenomenal! The directions for setup were very easy to follow. After taking time to get setup with my wife we sat in our office and enjoyed our record collection the way it should be. I couldn't be any happier, and highly recommend this to any audiophile.

Great turntable. I’m new to vinyl collecting and opted for the RT83. It comes well packaged and is a breeze to set up. I see that the walnut color is popular but I opted for the piano black and it is beautiful. I’m already planning to upgrade the stylus and platter but the RT83 is awesome out of the box. Especially like the auto stop because I have fallen asleep and don’t have to worry. Highly recommend this turntable as either your first or as an upgrade. It’s an awesome performer.

A.J.A. May 30, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Florida, United States

My new RT83, in black piano finish, worked perfectly from the start and the smoothness of its operation was a delightful surprise. The 3 adjustable feet is a really good design choice for reducing contact transmission of vibrations and ease of leveling the whole setup. Including a spirit level was a nice touch.

The turntable assembled in minutes with tone arm calibration being a little fussy only because of the grey-on-black markings on the counterweight and anti-skate knob. Using a small LED flashlight solved that minor issue.

I've ordered extra headshells for easier cartridge changing of my other vintage cartridges. All in all I think I'm in for many years of happy listening.

By the way, the RT83 arrived in perfect condition in spite of the shipper's efforts at destruction of the box so kudos to whoever designed the packaging.

I’ve been listening to records since I was a kid and used to dj when I was younger I’m 41 now and have been collecting records heavily I started to learn about audiophiles and wondered could it be true can you really hear subtle nuances is it really like hearing the records for the first time well it is I love my R83 I listened to records for hours once I got it set up and set up was easy can’t believe how great this sounds I’ve been to a lot of concerts and worked construction so my hearing is not great but with my R83 it’s true you can hear the difference

I love thus turntable. Owned a technics table for years and decided to upgrade. Did a lot of research and this is the model I chose. Easy to set up and play great . I'm hearing my music I never heard from my albums .The stereo separation is great. Would recommend this turntable to anyone.

Billy S May 18, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Maryland, United States

As a teenager, I fell in love with my father's record collection. He had a vintage turntable with a platter that waved as it rotated, a cheap cartridge, and a heap of old records. It wasn't a perfect setup, but it gave me a platform to enjoy music and take it to the next level. Ten years, later, I wanted to step up my game and relive the magic that made me fall in love with music, and so after much deliberation, I settled on the RT83. At first, I was a little unsure as I wanted to go with the more high-end RT85, but any doubts I had about the turntable faded as I played a record for the first time. Fluance turntables are excellent value for money, providing you with everything you need to get started; detailed instructions for setting up the tonearm and attaching the cartridge, a bubble level to minimize any distortion caused by a wonky base, and even white gloves for handling records and the player! The turntable itself is extremely sturdy and sounds fantastic. It doesn't come with a preamp, so make sure that you buy one or that your receiver has a dedicated phono input. I would also recommend buying Fluance's antistatic carbon and velvet brush set to keep your records and needle free of gunk. All in all, I am extremely happy with my RT83, and would recommend Fluance to anyone getting into hifi, or looking to step up their game.

The sound is exactly what I was looking for in a turntable. The natural wood finish is stunning. All around fantastic turntable. A huge upgrade from my double decker gpx

Surprisingly straightforward setup and great sound.

Jacob V May 16, 2020 Novice Listener - 2 Years Michigan, United States

Prior to ordering the rt83, I owned an automatic Sony turntable. So it was most certainly a HUGE jump in quality and clarity. After doing research online I decided I needed to find the right turntable for me. I came across the Fluance Reference line and found that it could be the best value. The product shipped really quickly, I received it in less than 3 days of when I ordered the item which was great. The walnut finish looks so fresh. Currently I have it hooked up to a Behringer pp400 pre amp, that may just be the only thing I need to upgrade. As stated earlier it sounded amazing and exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for an upgrade to last you a long time; potentially forever, the rt83 is one of the best options out there,

Jerome Y. May 14, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Illinois, United States

The RT-83 is just awesome! Set up is a breeze with the supplied directions from Fluance. Packaged for shipping was great as well and fast too. My turntable sounds great! Would definitely recommend Fluance and its amazing lineup of turntables!

Dan W. May 12, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Illinois, United States

Looks great, sounds great, easy to put together, was exactly what I was looking for. Only reason I didn't give it a 5, was some records don't stop when done playing, even though I flipped the Auto Stop switch on in back.

John V May 12, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Georgia, United States

Such a beautiful machine that really adds a quality sound to my vintage equipment. I compared three turntables, the Fluance R83, U-turn orbit and the ProJect Carbon. The U-Turn looked cheap and flimsy. The Project cost more but was very pretty. However the Fluance had the S tone arm I am accustomed to and one feature that the others did not. This feature was the auto shut off. I have always been fond of semi or fully automatic tables and this feature gave me the critical feature I needed. As a more seasoned individual, I fall asleep when listening to music.. Now I can rest without worrying that I am damaging my stylus when i zone out. By the way the hardest part of my decision was choosing wood over piano black

Ryan M. May 11, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years Oklahoma, United States

I have been nothing but impressed with the quality, sound and ease of setup of this turntable! Very happy with my decision going with a Fluance Turntable!

Glen, H May 8, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Saskatchewan, Canada

Getting back to quality audio and this was the the last piece of the puzzle. Regretted sellling our old turntable years ago, (during the misguided mp3 days) but with this Fluance RT83, I'm rediscovering my old vinyl and some of my parent's records have never sounded better. Trippy. So proud to buy from a Canadian company! Go Hosers!

John A May 8, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

Great turntable

K. Z May 7, 2020

I have a 40 years collection of albums which needed an upgrade in quality of turntable /player. This turntable was fairly easy to set up and works like a charm. I had been shopping to buy direct - but had concern if I had to send it back - and Amazon has local Kohl's returns. I avoided the risk of the direct buy to give me return ability. I did not need to return it. It arrived in fine shape. Take your time unloading the pieces and place the pieces on your counter top to walk thru their set up directions.

Great Turntable, love it!

Christopher M. April 18, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Indiana, United States

After replacing the cartridge several times on my previous JVC turntable I bought in 1982 with my paper route money, my vinyl collection was crying out for better treatment. I consulted friends and did my homework and this Fluance turntable has quite literally blown me away, breathed new life into old vinyl (and lots of new), and earned me the love of my wax stacks once again. Could not be happier.

Mike G April 16, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Michigan, United States

I recently upgraded from my old worn out circa 1970s Kenwood TT to the RT83.

From the minute I opened the box, I new I was receiving a quality product and made/packaged with thought and care.

Everything was (pretty much) plug and play. Care was taken to have everything dialed in from the factory. The small bump in price from the RT82 to the RT83 gives you so much more: Ortofon 2M Red Stylus and better quality cables.

My a couple negatives:
1) The ground cable is separate from the RCA cables, looks a bit messy

2) The included 45 adapter; why include one if there is no place to hold it?

Waltr L April 11, 2020 Novice Listener - 20+ Years Pennsylvania, United States

Easy set up, quality is the best, sounds great.

douglas g April 8, 2020

Great turntable for the price. Setup was relatively easy. Hardest part is balancing the tone arm if you've never done it before. However the instructions are easy to follow.

David W. March 24, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Colorado, United States

After years of digital listening I decided to reacquaint myself with vinyl. I wasn't sure I wanted to invest too much into it, mainly because any LP purchases I made would replicate what I already had in hi rez digital format (8000 LPs in mostly 24/96 flac files ). Much research led me to Fluance. I immediately decided upon the RT85, but it was sold out, as was the RT84. I waited impatiently for over 2 months, then finally bought the RT83, figuring that I would be able to return it within 30 days to upgrade when the RT85 would surely become available. As luck would have it, the RT 85 didn't come back on the market for approximately 45 days after I received my 83, so I was stuck with it. The only difference between the two models is RT83-metal platter, rubber mat and 2M Red cartridge. RT85-Acrylic platter and 2M Blue cartridge. Everything else is exactly the same. Price is $150 difference. Fluance says "No problem, upgrade the RT83". OK, do the math. A 2M Blue cart runs about $236, and the platter is $119. Total upgrade cost is $355, or $6 more than what I paid for the whole RT83 in the first place. I have read that the cart bodies of the Blue and Red are similar, but not exact (more windings in the Blue?), so just buying the stylus replacement isn't quite the same, and at $204 still gets you really close to the original RT83 price (also buying the acrylic platter). All this being said, I do believe you get a good deal with great sound from the RT83, But for $150 greater outlay you get $355 worth of better stuff. If you can afford it, go with the RT85!

Tony N. March 24, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years New Jersey, United States

Absolutely a solid performing turntable. I have it hooked up to my recently purchased ancient Yamaha RX V1 AVR and it is such a joy to hear my old albums again. Love it!!

jfriel March 2, 2020

very good table. easy to set up and looks great. I like that it has detachable headshell so you use anycartridge. The Ortofon Red is very good that is supplied. The table tracks well and the antiskate works well.I would use a digital stylus gauge to set pressure as recommended by the cartridge maker. I must saythe sound is very nice and I am glad I bought it. I also have a AT-lp120usb table and this is a better table in myopinion. glad I bought it. I must say every different cartridge I plugged in to this table sounds a little differentSo you do not have to stick with the Ortofon 2m red.

so far, I am very pleased with the RT83... I was struggling between this and the RT85.

Jason C. February 23, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

Amazing turntable. The looks and performance is light years ahead of my previous turntables. I had a few issues with setup (attributed to my lack of experience in setting up higher end unit). I highly recommend this turntable.

DONALD February 22, 2020 Intermediate Listener New Jersey, United States

I posted a very favorable review when i received turntable.
Two updates:
1. I upgradeed to acrylic platter and see improvement
2. I accidently ordered the black. Should have returned it and got the wood. Rhe black is beautiful but shows every bit of dust, fingerprints and microscratches.
Unless you really want black...go for the wood.

Alex K February 15, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

I missed the sale on the RT 84 by just one day so I stepped down to the RT 83. I was hoping to get the 2M blue cartridge but so far the RT 83 has been fine.

Andrew February 3, 2020

The finish on this unit is flawless with the deep gloss woodgrain surface, it's also available in gloss black. I love the simplistic look with only one knob for power and speed selection between 33 and 45. The cartridge is pre installed and is lined up as it should be (always worth double checking). The tone arm is not assembled with counter weight so read the instructions carefully as placement is truly critical, it is explained and can also be found on the most popular video website. I chose the RT83 model but have since considered the stylus upgrade as well as the acrylic platter which come standard on the RT85. I've just installed the Ortofon Blue stylus and will soon purchase the platter. The RT85 would have been a more economical choice as the upgrades will total more than it's purchase price. If you love vinyl this is a great choice and a beautiful piece. The only thing I would have liked would be a vertical adjustment for the tonearm, this does limit the mat style options. But with the acrylic platter you don't need a mat.

Jeff B February 1, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Really happy with my purchase. Was looking for a quality TT that wouldn’t break my budget. Didn’t need a bunch of bells and whistles at the expense of great sound, and the RT83 fit the bill perfectly. It’s beautiful, well built, and my vinyl sounds amazing. Set up was a breeze.

Beautiful sound with a sleek look

Alexander F January 21, 2020

After a ton of research I went with fluance for the value for the money. The turntable itself is very nice and super shiny.. good quality and great sound in my vintage receiver/speakers. I got the rt83 on sale, otherwise I would have probably gone with the 82.The platter feels pretty light and I'll be upgrading to the acrylic platter soon

David G January 7, 2020

Everything I could hope for in an entry level, audiophile grade turntable!New vinyl sounds absolutely stellar...My old vinyl can sound a bit tired on this precision instrument tho', which means the records are worn a bit. They weren't played on a real nice turntable with a quality cartridge/stylus.Fortunately my collection is not very large and I look forward to replacing old favorites in my record crate and adding new ones. The WOW moment for me is when I put on a new copy of Disraeli Gears in Mono, after that i was completely sold on the Fluance RT83 with the PA10 pre-amp

Soraya C. January 6, 2020 Novice Listener - 3 Years Indiana, United States

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend, and I definitely knocked it out of the park if I do say so myself. The set up was super duper easy for him, even though he hasn't owned this high-quality of a turntable before. It was a little frustrating having such short wires for the cord and grounding wire, etc. but he also has quite a big speaker setup as well. Hearing Queen's Night at the Opera album through his Klipsch setup was amazing. I'd totally recommend this turntable to anyone who had a semi-entry level budget ($200-400). The quality of the product is fantastic, as well as, the sleek design.

Dan F January 5, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

The RT-83 has a very solid, substantial feel, and looks great with the highly polished walnut veneer finish. Fluance even includes a pair of white gloves in the box to keep fingerprints off of the finish during setup.

Setup was a breeze following the well written and easily understood instructions in the user manual. The music from the Ortofon 2M Red cartridge sounds very good.

I am very pleased with the Fluance RT-83 turntable.

Jason H November 12, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

After doing extensive research on a new turntable for around the $500 mark, I decided on the RT83 and I made the best decision possible. Elegant design and superior sound quality brings my vinyl collection to life like never before. Amazing turntable Fluance!

I got the rt83 figuring i could always upgrade it latter on. It the first turn table i have owned in years. It is very nice and would recommend to anyone. I looked at several other brands trying to decide but always came back to fluance because it had all the features i wanted.

I purchased my RT-83 about 6 months ago, and I've had a chance to evaluate it thoroughly. I wrote a review of this turntable shortly after it arrived. I am still amazed by how quiet this turntable sounds when idling. I've used the Ortofon 2M, and it is a very good cartridge. I've also had a chance to mount my Shure V15-IV cartridge. It tracks very well with the RT-83 tonearm.

So far, I have no complaints or regrets. Great job Fluance!

Walter C September 26, 2019 Advanced Listener - 13 Years Virginia, United States

A beautiful turntable that has gotten me back into playing vinyl. The speed is consistent throughout every vinyl I play. Convenient to change headshells/cartridges. Amazing overall quality at a great price!

Mark M September 25, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Saskatchewan, Canada

The product was excellent, although I wish they have put an option with a built in preamp. I would have chosen the rt 81 with that feature, but I also like the upgraded feature and upgrade path (I can't get an acrylic platter with the rt 81?, or i would need a different counter weight if i would go with a ortofon cartridge?) of the reference line series turntables.

I’ve had the RT83 for about a month and I absolutely love this turntable. Easy to set up and I’ve been impressed with the sound quality, it has brought some older albums back to life for sure. The overall value based on other turntables in the price range is outstanding. The cartridge and motor are what you’d expect from more expensive turntables and the wood plinth looks great!

I am really glad that I could afford to buy this turntable. It is not a very affordable one and when I finally had the money to buy it, I had to wait because it was out of stock. But it was worth the wait!!!
I like its nice vintage design and the sound quality too. It's a very smooth turntable, well-balanced and noiseless.

Eric H September 15, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years Washington, United States

So far a brilliant turntable. Sound is clear and build quality feels solid. All my records have worked with the auto stop function. The tinted cover looks great. I chose the gloss black so it does attract fingerprints and dust, but that is to be expected. If I had to complain about one thing it would be the feet. They are nice and adjustable, but I found that due to the spring mechanism it is a little wobbly/unstable. This is only an issue if you bump the table or close the cover too hard as this can cause the arm to jump and the record to skip. Not a major issue, just be gentle.
Well worth the money. I plan to upgrade the platter to acrylic when it is available.

Mike M August 30, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Washington, United States

The product was well packaged and went assembled easily. I only have a couple of records to try, but so far it sounds good. I just wish the included cable was a bit longer so i don't have to stack it on the amp. It is cool that they did include a cable though as i didnt have a grounding cable handy.

Neil B. August 30, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Pennsylvania, United States

Beautiful turntable with easy set up. I'm decent with equipment but not particularly handy and had never set up a real turntable (one with tracking force adjustment, arm balance, etc.) before. I was able to have it up and running in twenty minutes (total, from the time I started to open the box till the time I was playing a record). Love the auto-stop feature which works very well, and the styling won't disappoint. As for the sound...I don't think you'll be disappointed. I can't compare this to high-end Regas and Music Halls because I don't have the cash to shell out for those, and of course, vintage turntables are a whole other beast. But it's been a great upgrade from an Ion usb turntable I'd been using while searching for something better, and it matches well with my Klipsch Capitol The Three speaker. I would buy again...but I don't think I'm going to have to because it feels solidly built and it appears thought went into its production.

Great turntable. Fast shipping. Easy setup.

Alex L August 29, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years British Columbia, Canada

Good quality, good sound!!
The packages were fantastic for the protection of the products during delivery. Unpacking and putting them together was straightforward, just follow the instructions. It was well arranged and easy to follow. The outcome of the sound from the Rt83 turntable, PA10 preamp connecting with the Ai60 speakers is excellent. The sound is clear, and with proper depth from the bass makes the music listening so much enjoyable. Great!!
One thing though, the Ai60 does not come with the 2RCA to 2RCA cable for connection with the PA10. The cable included a RCA audio vedio cable. Didn't notice that untill the very last step to the system connection. It turned out I had to buy the right cable myself. Why didn't Fluance have the right cable for connecting their preamp instead? So be aware!

Great value. I also added the acrylic platter. Sounds great, looks great. If I had to take issue with anything I'd say the tone arm doesn't seem of the same caliber as the rest of the build ( I find it feels and looks cheap/unrefined) and the tracking force system leaves room for inaccuracy due to it's slide and twist nature. That said a scale and 5 mins of research or a good ear/eye and you're good to go, so not a big deal. More of a concern for buyers who are new to turntables. I'm very happy with my purchase and maintain it's the best table I could source currently for under $600 CAD. Thanks Fluance. Replaced my Technics SL Q-D2 that I have had for a very long time. It was like night and day.

Mike M August 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 10 Years Nova Scotia, Canada

Great turntable, huge upgrade on sound quality from my last turntable. Very high quality construction and design. It feels like a turntable that will last decades. Very solid feel and the 2M Red cartridge is a perfect fit for this turntable. Highly recommend Fluance for their quality, design, and customer service.

Victor N. August 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Hampshire, United States

I like Fluance RT83 a lot, because of its high quality. Few hours of listening is enough to understand, that it has everything a vinyl collector needs in a very attractive package. I collect LP for 30+ years, and have three other turntables, totl from Sony, and Dual. Fluance RT83 turntable holds the ground against them perfectly. So the company made a very good move with the development of the reference line of turntables, including RT83, which I recommend to all music lovers.

Amazing Turntable. Best value there is right now

Charles C. August 29, 2019 Advanced Listener New Hampshire, United States

Great turntable. Seems well constructed. Sounds great with ortofon red cartridge and 1.8 tracking weight. Anti skating and cue lever works perfectly. Love the auto stop function even if it takes @ 30 seconds to stop. Would like better if there was no delay and it lifted off record. Was frustrated that sale price was not honored for out of stock products, of which there were many. Overall, best turntable I've seen for the money.

Great buy ! A well designed turntable with super performance. Nice to look at too. Was set up spot on right out of the box. Love the sound. Thanks

Matt S. August 28, 2019 Illinois, United States

I purchased this as an upgrade from my Audio-Technica LP60. I am extremely happy with the RT83. It is very simple to operate and well designed. The wood grain looks amazing and the cartridge plays everything I have thrown at it; even records that have had skips in the past.

Nick G August 28, 2019 Novice Listener - 2 Years Florida, United States

I’ve only had this turntable for a couple of weeks but it sounds great and looks fantastic. It was an easy set up and everything was packed really well in the box. I can’t speak to it’s longevity but everything seems really solid and good quality.

Quality beautifully made product.

Alex, S. August 28, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years Washington, United States

The rt83 looks and sounds fantastic. The unpackaging and initial setup was very easy. Have about 5 hours of listening so far and have had no problems. A few nitpicky things I noticed. The RCA and ground cable provided are very short and wouldn't work with my setup. The plinth had a few very small lite scratches in the clear coating. Finally, would rather have 4 rubber feet instead of 3 too make leveling the table easier. All in all a very good turntable and would recommend.

Parnell Martin August 20, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Brunswick, Canada

Love my RT83. Awesome sound and build quality.

Ben August 16, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Delaware, United States

I’ve been searching for the perfect record player since the Summer of 2018 and finally landed it with the RT83. I have literally tried every top and bottom player for each brand out there and could never find a player that met the sound and aesthetic pleasure as the Fluance model would. I’ve been using this for a mere 4-5 hrs and have been blown away! I wanted to just pass feedback along to your team for being amazing and providing a product that is groundbreaking and true to what music is all about. Who would have thought in 2019 a record player like this would have rejuvenated even the most cynical musical snob in me?! Thank you Fluance!

The TI-83 is a very nice, well built turntable with quality components. Well packaged and shipped without incident. Initial set up is straightforward and well described.

Playback is very clean. All in all this is a nice piece of audio equipment. It can be easily upgraded to TI-85 when the stylus wears out, so why wait. Just listen and enjoy.

John S July 23, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Best value in the turntable market. Shipping was extra fast and everything was better than I had imagined.

Barry Kiefaber July 17, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Georgia, United States

I love this turntable. It is everything I hoped it would be with one exception. That exception is I would like to see the next generation of Fluance Turtables feature a semi-automatic feature. (Reject at end of record and return the arm back to the arm rest) Everything else is Great ! The turntable is so quiet I can't hear any noise at all. The Wow & Flutter is undetectable. The Ortophon Cart (2M Red) is very clear and gives an all most live sound. The turntable itself is beautiful. I have the piano Black. I am very happy I decided to buy this turntable. Well Designed and well built and The Fluance Customer Service Team is first rate. Very Professional. Barry Kiefaber

Robert F. July 17, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Michigan, United States

The product was undoubtedly fantastic. It was returned due to some communication and shipping issues.

Tom G. July 14, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Ontario, Canada

I got myself a wood vainer RT83. I really like the looks of this turntable. I own the unit for over 4 months now. Sometimes I feel I should have gotten RT-84, but I highly doubt I'd notice any sound differences. (its just me) I'm new and old to vinyl. Back in the old days that is all I had. Now I decided to get back to vinyl.
The finish on this turn table is great. My minor negative comment is that the bottom, base cover (under the player), seems like a pressed cardboard. You only see it when the player is lifted.... hence never :) The other very minor negative comment is that there is not holder for the 45 adapter. This is very very minor.
I am not a audiophile, but I think this player sounds very good. This is based on my memory with my old turntables from the 80s.

Would I recommend the unit? yes, or else I would not have gotten it. Three leg support is very simple to level the unit. The legs have very good dampening system. I am impressed.

Brian G July 12, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Texas, United States

I am delighted with the RT83! The packaging for shipping was great, and set up was simple. The unit looks even better in person than in the photos, and it opertates smoothly and effortlessly. I wish I had upgraded sooner. My vinyl collection sounds better than ever!

Andrew B July 10, 2019 Novice Listener - 1 Year Massachusetts, United States

This player came highly recommended and I can see why. It’s been fantastic. It came well packed and shipping was very fast. It sounds great and I look forward to more time with it. Oh and it looks absolutely sick.

Amy S July 5, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 9 Years Georgia, United States

Great player! I bought this for my fiance's birthday this year. I wanted to buy the 85, but both the 84 & 85 were sold out, so I went with the 83. Everyone said that it was the same player, just didn't have the ceramic plate and the upgraded cartridge. But a good friend was already giving us a high end cartridge, so worked out anyway. We can definitely hear a major difference in the quality and my fiance is crazy for this player! My only complaint, which isn't about the player really, is that I thought it would eliminate the records from skipping when we walk by it, but I live in a old house and I am sure every step makes the whole house vibrate, so I don't think any balancing or cushioning would fix that.

John Schultz July 5, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

I had a problem that we couldn’t figure out. The tech said return the turntable and we will gladly refund your your money. I did exactly that and my account was reimbursed. NOT ONE PROBLEM. It was unfortunate but the service was great. I’m ordering a RT 85 as soon as they arrive.

Justin S July 2, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 15 Years Maine, United States

Very impressed with this turntable. Right from unboxing it becomes clear that a lot of care and thought was put into the design of this turntable. Assembly was very straight-forward and instructions were super easy to follow but thorough. Build quality of this unit seems to be very strong. All the parts feel very thoughtfully designed and purposeful. Aesthetics of the Walnut finish are pretty impressive, very glossy finish and great colors. In operation is where this device really shines though. Sound floor is dead quiet, speed is ultra consistent and platter is spins super flat. Sound quality is excellent. Very happy with my decision to purchase this!

Zach P June 30, 2019 Advanced Listener - 15 Years Illinois, United States

Fantastic build quality plus an Ortifon 2m red! Can't beat it for price. I had been researching TTs in this price range for a while but wanted to avoid the others that seemingly cut corners. The rt83 is all quality - fully adjustable tone arm, solid wood plinthe, and servo motor set it apart. I also purchased the fluance PA10 preamp and am very happy with the combination. Customer service is great as well! Great experience. Will buy their products again.

Armin C June 28, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years New Hampshire, United States

The build is solid. Setup is very easy and the best part. The sound quality is awesome. I have this hooked up in my Onkyo 7.1 Surround Sound Amplifier in my basement. I have never enjoyed listening to Vinyl this much before!!!

Somnath Choudhuri June 25, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Delaware, United States

The Fluance RT-83 is a superb turntable in every respect - looks, build and sound. Sean from Customer Service was an absolute delight - a great company with great products and fantastic people. Thanks Fluance!

Rob C June 24, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

The RT83 is a great TT. The build and quality is the best there is at this price point. The RT84 & 85 were out of stock so I decided on the RT83. I am waiting for the acrylic platter to be sold separately so I can upgrade. I upgraded to the Ortofon blue and it was a big upgrade over the red. The blue is an incredibly precise cartridge, maybe even a little too precise, almost CD like quality. I have since upgraded to the Nagaoka MP-150 which is very precise as well with the perfect amount of warmth.. The only reason for 4 stars is because when I contacted Fluance for the correct overhang and they told me to contact Nagaoka. This measurement should certainly come from the manufacturer of the TT and not the cartridge. Still waiting to hear back from them.

Jim T June 22, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Florida, United States

I don't know what else you could ask for. It's quiet with aluminum platter and rubber mat. I would have bought the RT85 if it would have been in stock. But the 2m red is great. only thing I really want is the upgraded platter and really only for appearance. it would look so good on that piano black finish.

Michael L June 10, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years North Carolina, United States

Best bang for your buck under $500. I researched for months and months before pulling the trigger. Love the Ortofon 2M red and look forward to upgrading to the acrylic platter one day. Excellent sound paired with Fluance's PA10 pre-amp.

Steve S June 10, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Minnesota, United States

Love the turntable, sounds great looks great and the price is reasonable. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the design of the product for the market they are trying to serve. For an audiophile on a budget, not having a phono preamp was key and the upgrade path. Unlike pure audiophile products out there I like having the auto stop, electronic speed change and detachable head-shell. I would also point out that I purchased a mmf 2.3 and the Glumack sounds better to my ears. Anyway if you are on the fence on this turntable, for the price you cannot do better in my opinion.

Jeremy June 6, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 8 Years Michigan, United States

Looks great while producing a great sound. I am very impressed overall and love the auto stop feature for when kids take my attention away from the music.

Michael, L June 5, 2019 Advanced Listener - 2 Years North Carolina, United States

I believe not only the RT83, but all reference series turntables by Fluance (RT82-85) to be the best money can buy within this price range, or even slightly higher. I'm very interested in the acrylic platter upgrade once they come back in stock. The attention to detail and build quality is amazing. Sound quality also excellent. I'm pairing with Fluance's PA10 external pre-amp and it sounds great. I'm honestly thinking now my speaker setup is my weak link. I recommend the reference series to anyone who wants a new turntable. If $300-$500 is out of your budget, save your money, until it is in your budget. I wouldn't spend a dime on anything under $500 other than one of these reference series turntables.

Dan F May 31, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years North Dakota, United States

Love my RT83! Looks great and sounds great as well. I upgraded from a AT-LP60 and the sound quality and solid construction of the RT83 is far superior to the entry level AT. Hoping to upgrade the platter in the future. My signal chain RT83 -> Phono Box Preamp -> Fluance Ai40 and it sounds great! One complaint - the clip for locking the tonearm is leaving a mark. Other than that - Love it!

Mario S May 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

First of all my RT83 is a great turntable and easily compare to my Thorens TD166. It is a fantastic product and you get more than you pay for. Second, in my 70 years I have never experienced customer
service as great as that which I have received from Fluance. Thanks for a wonderful turntable and great service. Sean in customer service
Is great and a credit to the brand.

Kevin V May 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

This is a review for the XL7F speakers and the RT83 turntable. I wanted the RT85 turntable, but they were on back order so I got the RT83 with the intention of upgrading the platter and cart later. The RT83 with the Ortofon 2m red cart is crystal clear compared to what I've used before. The bang for your buck is amazing on the RT83 and the quality of craftsmanship is far beyond the price point.
The XL7F speakers are unbelievable for the price. With the down firing 8" subs you get plenty of bass for small to medium sized rooms. Pull these speakers away from the wall when listening and you will get clear bass and amazing mids and highs. I listen to everything from the clash & Iron Maiden to Miles Davis and Shpongle. These speakers play everything well. You will not be disappointed for the price. You would have to spend over $1000 on speakers to get the same range and sound out of other speaker brands.

Jacob L May 28, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Washington, United States

This is my first ever turntable, and it was everything I could have asked for. I was originally going to get the 85 but since it's still out of stock, I eventually decided to settle, and I'm very happy with it!

Robert Langenhahn May 26, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Wisconsin, United States

Beautiful lines, solid construction and beautiful sound. Setup was easy with the adjustable 3-point system. The light tone arm with the perfect balance achieved by the counterweight allows the needle to drop so gently that on a really clean record you don’t even hear it, even at mid-volume levels. I couldn’t be happier with the product.

Leonard L May 23, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Kansas, United States

At 71 years old when I buy something, I tend to get the best I can afford because I figure it will likely outlive me. I could have afforded a R-T85 but got tired of waiting and ordered the RT-83 instead. Well, I just saved myself $150 because this is all the turntable I will ever need. I just can't believe the difference between the Fluance and my 35 year old BSR that it replaced. The sound is so clear and transparent I don't think I will ever be happy with streamed audio again. If there is a better turntable available I don't want to hear it.

Chuck W. May 23, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Pennsylvania, United States

I replaced my Marantz belt driven turntable (circa 1976) with the RT83. My old Marantz turntable certainly didn't owe me anything, but it finally bit the dust. I looked at many different tt's from several companies and decided on the Fluance Reference series. I originally wanted the RT85, but got tired of waiting. So I setteled for the RT83. I don't regret the choice It can be upgraded to the features of the RT85. The RT83 plays all my LP's fantastically and that goes for my old 43+ year old LP's and newly purchased LP's. I would definitely recommend this TT to anyone wanting to upgrade their old TT or anyone just getting into vinyl. No problems so far. No hum. It is very quiet and beautiful looking. Just take the time to set it up and you will be amazed.

Albert C. May 22, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years Tennessee, United States

After too much research reading countless reviews, Reddit postings, blogs and watching a number of YouTube videos, I decided on the RT 83. Assembly was easy (love the gloves) and from the first record...I knew I had made the right decision. The Ortofon 2M Red sounds wonderful, and the high gloss walnut color of the turntable looks fantastic on my office bookshelf. Looking forward to using it for many years to come...

Axl V May 21, 2019 Advanced Listener - 2 Years Texas, United States

The RT83 is a very good turntable! Playback is quiet, unit seems good quality. Two drawback is that the finish has light scratches and the clip that holds the tonearm in place scratches it when un-clipping . Changed the mat for a music hall cork decoupling cork mat which improved the experience. Overall very pleased with purchase!

DaveK May 17, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Oregon, United States

Wow! I had forgotten just how good vinyl could sound!

From many years ago, I had a modest collection of (mostly) gently-played vinyl, and then inherited a somewhat larger collection. I decided to take the plunge back into vinyl, and had to find a suitable turntable (my old rather decent Pioneer was sold 20 years ago due to a move overseas). After lots of searching, reading reviews, and comparing prices, I settled on the Fluance RT83 as a compromise between performance and cost. It turns out that I chose well.

The turntable arrived and I was very impressed with the packaging. Although it arrived in excellent condition, it could have been dropped and kicked around, but would have likely survived due to the excellent packing.

Anyway, setup was straightforward, took about 30 minutes, but could easily have been done in less than 10 minutes after doing it once. The only hiccup was that when I first started the motor spinning, there was an awful sound!!! Yikes!!! It turned out to be my own fault with a slight misalignment of the motor pulley cap, and with that fix, all was well.

In the end, the sound of my old vinyl is simply awesome! I'm sure some of that is due to the quality of the cartridge and stylus, but they sound better than I remember from 20+ years ago.

Needless to say, I'll be happy to recommend this turntable to any of my friends who want to jump back into vinyl. On the other hand, I'd be happy to take their gently used disks off their hands!

Beth Hanlon May 16, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Alberta, Canada

Has been excellent so far, paired it with my Shiit preamp and the old speaker I was using, can't wait to pair it with my new speakers that are arriving soon. Really solid construction and just very beautiful to look at. Setup was also easy and the instructions were clear. Look forward to adding a acrylic platter to it down the line over the aluminum.

Excellent product with very solid construction and everything just screams quality. Got the RT83 with the hope to upgrade the platter down the line if I really like the player. Waiting to get some improved speakers to really let this player shine, already running through my Shiit Audio phono preamp.

My RT83 turntable arrived well packaged with the easiest of instructions for assembly. I had it up and running within minutes and was able to immediately enjoy my record collection. The table is incredible both visually and audibly . The Orftofon 2M red that comes stock with the table has such amazing clarity you just cant go wrong with making the purchase. There is so much bang for the buck here!

Zack A. May 3, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

My RT83 arrived well packaged with easy instructions to follow. Setup was super simple and I was plugged in listening to my records within minutes. The quality of this turntable both visually and audibly is immaculate. The Reference series is straight up the best bang for your buck. From the Ortofon 2M Red cartridge that comes stock with the turntable to that beautiful natural walnut finish plinth, you simply can't go wrong with this choice.

Mike Cameron May 2, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Upgraded from a very old Thorens 165C with an MP-11 cartridge. Couldn't be happier. The RT83 sounds fantastic! Simple to order. Delivered promptly. Easy as 1-2-3 to set up. Thanks, Fluance!

Ned E. April 30, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

I almost considered buying a U-**** turntable until I discovered Fluance. A good turntable should include a cue lever, adjustable anti-skate, and a decent phono cartridge. I purchased an R-83 and have been very happy with it. No regrets.

John R April 29, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Kentucky, United States

I am very happy with my purchase of the RT83. I am glad the new turntables came out around the time I was going to be buying one. Originally I was going to get the RT85 but when it was out of stock I ordered the RT83. It plays great, looks great, and sounds great. I will upgrade to the blue needle at some point but the red sounds pretty good. I don't think I will upgrade the platter though. The acrylic sounds nice but I really like the looks of the black platter. My only complaint would be that the auto stop usually takes at least 10 revolutions to stop, but since most high quality players do not even have an auto stop, I cannot complain too much. But overall, I highly recommend this player. It sounds great and treats the records gently!

John A. April 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Colorado, United States

Great value on good equipment. It has tracked My forty year old album collection virtually flawlessly.

J.m. April 27, 2019 Novice Listener - 1 Year Colorado, United States

A great looking and performing record player. I had to get a preamp to get my speaker to work so I had to wait a few extra days to enjoy it but I am very pleased with this purchase.

Dan Bigeault April 26, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Quebec, Canada

Very nice design, nice sound and ease of use

Jason B April 25, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Wisconsin, United States

Awesome turntable! I am coming from an Audio Technica AT-LP120 and I can say there is a HUGE difference! The sound quality is night and day. I'm sure part of that is the stylus, but I think it's also that there isn't a built in pre-amp.

The build quality of this turntable is solid as a rock. Unboxing and setup was very easy thanks to the included manual. I was up and running in no time. After letting it run for 24 hours as recommended, it was good to go. I didn't notice any difference going from a direct drive to a belt drive. The sound was amazing through the entire spectrum. Crisp highs, nice thumpy lows, and good mid-range.

Overall I am VERY happy with my purchase and would recommend this turntable to anyone looking to buy one in this price range. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Michael April 17, 2019 Advanced Listener - 12 Years Florida, United States

The RT83 is a fantastic addition to my Sound System. Love the Steady built Base, and really admire the High Gloss finished Walnut Veneer. This looks and feels very luxurious and is easy to keep Clean. Setting up the Table was also very easy with the clean installation Manual. Adjustment of the Tonearm took me about 5 Minutes until everything was aligned properly. Really enjoy the Ortofon Red Cartridge that delivers clean and crisp sound. I can recommend this Record Player to anyone who is in need of great quality and longlasting and upgradable Workhorse.

My turntable arrived with what appeared to be a defective motor because it made a clicking sound. Sent it back and got a replacement which worked fine but it has several faint scratches on it. Too much trouble to return another one. Customer support was excellent but quality control is not very good. Music sounds good.

Great so far and beautiful too. I bought the R83 after a Fluance representative told me that the acrylic platter could be purchased separately (keeping fingers crossed). Thank you!

I wanted something brand new (with warranty) to take over for my vintage Linear Tracking Turntable. After much searching, I found the turntable I was looking for!!!! I chose the RT83 as an entry point for the Reference Turntables that had the Ortofon 2M cartridges already installed. After five days of waiting for it to arrive, delivery was delayed not 1 but 2 business days due to bad weather along the way. I finally received it yesterday. I had been looking at unboxings of this and similar models over and over, so I knew pretty much not only what was in the box, but the assembly steps as well. Assembly took just under an hour. The surprise came when I fired it up....and wow!!!! Just beautiful!!! The wait was definitely worth it. I am not ditching my LT Turntable as it is going to be the turntable (with preamp) that will play vinyl on my computer. The RT83 is now my new main go-to turntable for enjoying Vinyl the way it was meant to be heard. The sounds pop out and everything is so clear, it sounds like you're right there in the studio. I'm using this turntable through a Marantz SR-4023, Bose 901 Series IV Equalizer (restored) and output to a pair of Bose 901 Series IV speakers (also restored). The result? My whole living room is totally bathed in sound so rich that I am instantly taken away to another world. :) I cannot believe how beautiful it looks and build quality? Very solid!!! I am definitely pleased with my choice as I believe I have made a solid investment in my vinyl playing future!

Got the RT83, didn’t get ship notice but arrived 1 week after order in good shape, great packaging to protect TT. TT is great, easy setup and sounds great!! Ortofon red sounds great as well!!

Excellent product, Excellent Price, Excellent packaging Easy setup. The only issue I have had and keeping me from giving a 5 star rating is that I was missing the bubble level, even after contacting support twice problem was not remedied which will prohibit me from further purchases as I cannot count on support for something small like this I certainly doubt they would support me with a real problem. Otherwise exceptional product.

I really like the finish of the turntable. The white gloves are a nice touch. I am not a vinyl fanatic, but I like quality equipment that is simple and performs well. This table fits it although I do have second thoughts about not getting RT-84, for the vinyl platter. Not so much for sound quality and heavier weight but simply the looks :) My vinyl collection sounds awesome on my headphones. I need better speakers now. Fluance?

My only negative comment, although very minor, is that the base cover, which you cannot see, almost feels like a compressed cardboard you find on a back of cheap book cases.

Scott S March 28, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years British Columbia, Canada

I bought the RT83 Reference based on a few things:

1) Fluance is a Canadian company so I wanted to give a little love to my home country.
2) It seemed like a great value.
3) Steve Guttenberg of The Audiophiliac raved about this series.

I'm impressed by the quality of the turntable and by the customer service team at Fluance. I had a concern about the cueing lever and they contacted me within 12 hours and got it all sorted out (FYI, there was no issue, just me being unfamiliar with how high it should lift).

I'm extremely happy with my decision and plan to pick up a pair of their powered speakers in the near future.

Like a lot of people from the vinyl era I have been searching for a decent tutntable that doesn’t drain the bank account. Very good initial quality build & you get a lot for your money. Unlike the competition it also has an auto shut off, which is a feature that comes in handy if your not hanging over your table at just the right time......This was a Good find !

I recently purchased an RT83 to replace a really old Thorens that had fallen into disrepair. The turntable arrived quickly, was a breeze to set up, and works superbly. Looks great, too. I confess, I would have gone for the 84 to get the acrylic platter but it was unavailable at the time of purchase and I was unwilling to wait. That said, I am thrilled with the performance of the RT 83 and recommend it highly.

Darren G March 25, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Thank you Fluance team,
I'm listening to a direct metal mastering of an album on the RT83 turntable and the sound is totally gratifying.  This TT has breathed new life into my integrated amplifier.  The RT83 was worth the wait.

Alberto, C March 25, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New Jersey, United States

Beautiful turntable and for the features you get an unbeatable value.
I paired it up with Schiit phono preamp and I was in audio bliss.
Customer service is very responsive with any questions.

Robert Langenhahn March 24, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Wisconsin, United States

I’m certainly not an audiophile, but even my untrained ear can easily hear the difference between this and my old turntable.

The setup was very simple and the build quality is outstanding. The needle drop is so soft it’s often difficult to detect when it reaches the album. The cartridge is fantastic as well, and eliminates many of the pops and noises I had become accustomed to.

I could not be happier with my purchase.

Lewis Paddock March 21, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Washington, United States

I hearing instruments on my records that I did not hear before. This turntable is beautiful and quiet. I feel I received way more than what I paid for.

Steve March 20, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

Just spent my first full day with my new RT83 and have been more than impressed. The build quality and attention to detail on the turntable are fantastic. I have a small but carefully curated selection of vinyl, both new and from the 70's and 80's. Listening to various LPs from multiple genres has been an absolute pleasure thus far. I am running the RT83 (with Fluance cork platter mat) through a Rolls preamp in to Fluance Ai40 speakers. The Ortofon 2M Red is fantastic. The soundstage on all my vinyl is spacious, and I'm picking up even further detail and nuance from songs I've heard dozens or even hundreds of times, both digitally and on vinyl.

Setup was a breeze, instructions were clear and concise. I was a bit hesitant to configure the counterweight and tracking force without a scale, but after watching the video Fluance provides on their website and using some care and attention I was able to get it dialled in no problem.

I would not hesitate to recommend this turntable. Full points Fluance!

Love this turntable! Upgraded from a AT-LP60 so this is a huge upgrade for me. I decided to get the RT83 based on the upgraded Ortofon Red stylus, but not the acrylic platter. Hoping that the acrylic platter will be available later to upgrade. Instructions to set up the turntable were clear as well.

Lui B March 20, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

I purchased the RT83, to replace my 30 yrs old Dual turntable, & I am very pleased with this turntable. Having the speed control was important to me & this TT delivers, the competition charges big for this feature.

Bob G March 20, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Pennsylvania, United States

Product arrived on time, packed very tight no damage. Instructions to assembly spot on and for me who lacks that ability, no problem. The turntable is so good I now have to upgrade the speakers. I am reviewing the Ai 60 which has optical to plug into CD player. Excellent company which appears to stand behind it products from all the reviews I have read.

Lui B March 19, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

I purchased the RT83 Turntable & liked the sound & build quality, I found the power supply to be cheap. Would like to see a better power supply in future.

Hedley D March 15, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Arkansas, United States

I wanted to add to my previous review. After a week I can truly say this turntable is amazing. The sound quality is awesome. If you are thinking of purchasing one, do it.

Luc M March 11, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Quebec, Canada

L'esthétique de la table tournante Fluance RT83, son fonctionnement silencieux, la qualité sonore de la cartouche Ortofon, en font un achat plus que recommandé pour les mélomanes.
The aesthetics of the Fluance RT83 turntable, its quiet operation, the sound quality of the Ortofon cartridge make it a more than recommended purchase for music lovers.

Don F March 11, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Jersey, United States

This is impressive. I upgraded from two vintage Technics and Dual turntables and was astounded at the sounds coming out of my vintage records. I listen mostly to opera that were recorded in the 50's and 60's and this turntable has really opened up the sound. The base is much clearer and the separation among instruments and voices is great. It is beautifully made, set up in just a few minutes and quite attractive ( the piano black finish).
Only warning, the dust cover scratches very easily, seems placing a box set of an opera on it scratched it.

Josh March 10, 2019 Advanced Listener - 8 Years Nebraska, United States

I was initially hesitant since I hadn't seen many reviews on these at the time of my researching, but I am glad I took the risk. These are very well made and have a great sound. I'm glad I took a chance on Fluance over the more expensive turntables out there!

Helder J March 10, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New Jersey, United States

After reading the review on CNET I purchased the RT 83, when I got the turntable home I was very impressed. The quality of the build was excellent. As was packaging. The shiny wood plith is beautiful and the sound that comes really shines. After playing some of my old records I remembered why Albums sounded so good. Honestly for the price the turntable is an excellent purchase.

James, G March 10, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

The unit was packaged well. Set-up was a breeze. It's so beautiful and sounds great. I like the speed knob as opposed to a switch. It's a solid, attractive, well built turntable at a good price.

Don F March 9, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New Jersey, United States

Beautifully made and good looking. Most importantly, it drew sounds out of my vintage records I didn't know we're there. Especially good with bass and separating the instruments. Only problem, and I almost dropped down to 4 stars, the dust covered scratches very easily. Don't even put a dust jacket on it.

Hedley D March 5, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Arkansas, United States

Beautiful looking turntable. Easy setup and great sound. This replaced a 24 year old Technics which developed a bad motor.

Kenneth March 2, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

I researched turntables in the $200-$500 range and decided on the RT83. Fluances'Quality workmanship, sound, and looks far surpassed my expectations! Now I am trying to figure out with Fluance product to buy next!

Robert C February 28, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Oklahoma, United States

Qapla'! A work of art. Simple, functional, elegant. The three feet leveling is spot on, no pun intended. Recommendation: Change the end of record auto-stop to end of record, auto lift and stop.

Russell C February 27, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Iowa, United States

I had pined about purchasing the RT81 for over a year. When the reference series was announced with the new motor and cartridge/upgrade options.... take my money. Went with the RT83 and couldn't be happier. Exponentially better than the old Technics it replaced. Plus, I can still upgrade the platter, ect down the road if desired. Beautiful looks, and more importantly, beautiful sound.

Kevin Rhodes February 27, 2019 Novice Listener - 20+ Years Indiana, United States

I have had a Technics SL-J33 since I bought it in the 80’s. It was nice, but I think it was more gimmicky than quality. I got an RT83. The different is amazing!! The setup was easy and it looks fantastic!! I hope in the future Fluance offers the acrylic platter as an upgrade.

Roald Van Antwerpen February 16, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

Great build quality.
Totally silent running.
Great sound quality.
Beautiful to look at.
Sound elimination feet work very well.

Ram C February 14, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Illinois, United States

I grew up with a turntable being the only source of entertainment and I forgot all about it. I recently saw a turntable at a hotel and felt all nostalgic. Did some research and read a lot about Fluance. It had great reviews from audiophiles and regular folk like myself. I wanted RT84 but that was out of stock, so ordered RT-83. I had high expectations and when I opened the box and set it up, I was super impressed. I paired with the new Fluance Ai 60 bookshelf speakers (Which are great for the price BTW). Of course, this needs a preamp and I hooked it to Schiit Mani, which is nice and compact. The build quality is exceptional. It looks great and sounds as good as it looks. The set up was actually pretty easy. I have had it now for few days and it plays beautifully.

Curtis Swan W. February 13, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Arkansas, United States

The turntable was well packaged, easy to assemble and sounds great. I am very happy with the RT83 Reference turntable, meets all you expectations,

Carl S. February 12, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

I originally purchased in RT80 but it had severe speed issues. Returned the RT80 for a refund and purchased the RT83. I could not be happier with RT83. No issues. Excellent in every way.

Bigeault D February 9, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Quebec, Canada

I love my rt83, but i was more looking for an rt85 out of stock, so i was no patient to wait for the rt85, but my choice was more an acrylic platter including Ortofon 2m blue, but does not regret my current purchase.

Curtis February 6, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Arkansas, United States

Very satisfied customer!

Alex G January 31, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years Florida, United States

Do not hesitate. I initially purchased the RT-81 for my son and I was immidiately impressed with build and sound. A couple of days later other models became available. Purchased the RT-83(only because the 84 was sold out) Amazing tables! Go for it!

Ted S January 30, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Arizona, United States

I purchased the RT 83 to replace a 40 year old Empire 698. So far I am pleased and really like the pairing with the Ortofon Red. I am only a week into this, but this is looking like a great purchase.

Brian P. January 30, 2019 Advanced Listener - 5 Years California, United States

100% satisfied. My RT-83 turntable sounds incredible and looks stunning! Setup was very smooth as it arrived with easy-to-follow instructions and all components and equipment were included. The quality is obvious as well. I researched a number of turntables prior to purchasing a Fluance and I am certain I made the best choice.

Matt W January 26, 2019 Novice Listener - 1 Year Connecticut, United States

LeRoy K January 24, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Pennsylvania, United States

every thing from the way belt drive is set up ,outstanding specs ,table legs that are adjustable and minimal contact drive motor isolated

Chris C. January 22, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Beautiful turntable! Well designed and packaged. A fair price for the quality.

Steve January 21, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

I love this turntable. I have it hooked to my Onkyo amp using ART DJPRE II Phono Preamp and a sheilded cable and there is no noise. I am enjoying listening to mine and also my fathers old vinyl. Look forward to trading and buying many more. I also like the setting where the turntable stops rotating at the end of the record.

Tony G January 19, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years California, United States

The unit is beautiful, seems to be well built, and the sound is of high quality. I am very happy with this turntable. Although, I might go with the RT85 if I had to do it over again to get the upgraded stylus and platter.

Greg January 16, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

Had this for about 3 days so not a long term test ( will update this after a month or so) but it certainly does everything right so far. The speed control is spot on, the Ortofon red cartridge is perfectly matched at this price range and i love the fact you can upgrade when/if you choose. I certainly think that the acrylic platter and the Ortofon Blue are worthy upgrades but the RT-83 setup is no slouch as it is. I like the fact that they truly thought about what was important to the users and added the platter speed control, a more solid cuing lever, a heavier tone arm weight for a wider range of cartridge choices, better isolation for the motor and the table, and kept the auto-stop feature. The loss of the pre-amp (from the RT-81) might be a deal breaker for some but it was the right move for most to have a cleaner signal path and a choice of pre-amps. I easily set up my old Shure V15 type 4 cartridge and paired it with my older Yamaha amp with phono inputs and WOW it really performed! Hard to choose - the new Ortofon or the old Shure...one thing is certain however, they have a winner with this new Reference series, great job!

Corey A January 11, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 6 Years Louisiana, United States

Customer service was amazing to deal with. Shipping was very quick. it was packaged very well. The setup was a breeze and it sounds amazing!

Vincent January 10, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Connecticut, United States

I absolutely LOVE the new line of Reference Turntables. I purchased the RT 83, was delighted with it, but decided that I wanted to take advantage of the cost savings by getting the RT85, so I'm upgrading!
