I bought this for the love of my life who has an extensive record collection but a subpar player. She’s a music connoisseur while I’m an audiophile with a love for good production value that brings the artists’ full intentions to life. She has been overjoyed at its performance and honestly so have I.

I previously had a Gemini turntable with Audio Technica cartridge and nude elliptical stylus. The Fluance RT82 arrived today and wow, what a difference! It is very quiet and smooth operating, and the ortofon OM10 cartridge tracks excellent. So much more of the music is now present, and I'm hearing things things that I didn't notice before. The bass is strong with a punch yet still well balanced with trebles amd mids. An all around fantastic listening experience compared to my old turntable. Assembly was easy and the instructions were extremely clear and helpful, and the turntable is a high quality build. . I am extremely pleased with this turntable!

Marc-Andre January 6, 2023 Novice Listener - 1 Year Quebec, Canada

Super simple to assemble and set up, this is my first experience with a turntable, I'm glad I spend the money for this great product. I compared it with the stir it up turn table and it's day and night!! The cartridge sounds amazing, I paired the turntable with Kanto YU6 and SUB8, great combo.

Chris H. December 30, 2022 Novice Listener - 1 Year Texas, United States

I bought the Rt 82 for my wifes first unit. Overall set-up was fairly easy and it sounds great.

Ronen_ed December 29, 2022

The Fluenc turntable is a very impressive package with good sound and great built the pickup haed is good although lakes little beet on the bass and output is little lowHad to balance with my yamaha audio level trim so not so problematic on my set upThe automatic stop at the end of the album side is a great plus.Anyway it is great to explore back my old vinyl colection and some new ones. All in all I would definitely recommend the product

anthoy p December 27, 2022

Counterweight Indicator ring is difficult for me (66) when balancing to see. Other than that I love it.Auto shut off is very convenient. Great table

Nick C December 21, 2022 Advanced Listener - 10 Years New Brunswick, Canada

I love my new RT82 turntable, and I had to reach out to customer service and they were some of the best I have had to deal with anywhere.
Definitely will purchase more from this company.

Jonathon J December 17, 2022

This TT is amazing. Easy to setup had it running in 20 minutes. Packaging was a-1 and looks awesome. Sounds great on my Yamaha RX-A2080 and klipsch setup. You won't be disappointed with this turntable. Do it push the buy button!

Staci K December 4, 2022

HUGE upgrade over the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT I purchased after deciding to flirt with vinyl again. Don't get me wrong... it was that turntable that convinced me to dive back in. Perfectly fine starter BUT it's biggest limitation is you can't change or upgrade the cartridge as you can with Fluance. And it's super easy to do with the removable head shell (LP60 is fixed). You can just buy a premounted cartridge and do nothing more than change the head shell and set the tracking force and anti-skate (easy). In hindsight, RT82 would have been a better choice. Superior in every way, the Ortofon OM 10 cart is a vast sound quality improvement with it's elliptical shape. The sound is much more defined. The isolation feet make it easy to have turntable and speakers on same surface with no fear of cranking up the volume. Balancing the tonearm was a snap. Personally, I like the auto-stop function just fine, but it's not an automatic return. The LP60XBT is fully automatic which I appreciate getting back into it.The RT82 does not have a preamp so you do need to have one or buy an RT81/80 that have an installed preamp. Another option is my set up. I have Klipsch The Fives speakers that are also preamp, amp, BT and more. I didn't love those speakers at first but Klipsch now has an app that allows you to tweak the sound AND I paired with a Klipsch sub... with that... chef's kiss!HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Fluance RT82 to beginners and those on more of a budget. I bought a "used" one on Amazon but ships directly from Fluance... it seemed all perfectly new, but saved me enough to buy "The Stranglers: Peaches". The turntable is the exact same as the 83/84 except the cartridge. If you have the clams, you might just buy the RT85 with the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge or the Nagaoka MP-110.

This is awesome. Love it. Can't recommend it more. All you need to have a great listening experience.

Tom C November 23, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Massachusetts, United States

All the positive reviews are right - this is a great turntable for $300.

In addition to what others have said, here are a few things that I like that I didn't necessarily expect:

- The ground works! I've had a problem with hum with a number of other turntables and thought it was something I just had to live with because of the old wiring in my house, but the RT82 is almost dead quiet once grounded to my amplifier.

- It came with higher quality connection cables than is usual - no need to upgrade.

- The feet have very fine threads - this makes leveling very easy and precise.

- Auto-stop is great. It does take about 30 seconds to kick in but that's much better than the alternative if you wander off.

- The flip side of auto-stop is that it is also auto-start. The motor starts spinning once you move the tonearm to the left. This doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere but I like it.

Overall no regrets about getting this and I can't imagine a better turntable at the price. It's definitely superior to the slightly more expensive one that it's replacing as well as a number of others I've had in the past.

Bob K November 22, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Massachusetts, United States

From top to bottom, I couldn't be happier. The RT82 is what I was looking for, great looks, function and the sound from the OM 10 Cartridge is a pleasant surprise. Customer Service couldn't haven't been better. From pre-sale to making good on a return, changed the color, they were GREAT.

TXRosie50 November 20, 2022

Be aware that this is a manual turntable. Plays beautifully and was easy to put together. Replaced my 45 y.o. turntable that had more features, but for the price, I am very happy with this baby. Got the walnut base and it's very pretty. Would definitely recommend!

Tone Deaf Plus November 11, 2022 Novice Listener - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

First off prior to a few weeks ago I never heard the word audiophile. I am not taking up the hobby.
I had a stereo system in school in the late 60's / early 70's and somewhere along the line it got
lost in the shuffle but I did keep my records. I am currently studying various record cleaning options
and this summer decided to get a new setup and it came down to Fluance vs U-Turn so I chose the
RT82 upgrade path. I already bought the acrylic platter and someday may upgrade the cartridge to Ortofon Blue
but a lot of my records are mono so I got a mono cartridge elsewhere otherwise I will just use the one that
came with it.

The turntable shipped from the Redmond Washington area to Ohio which worried me a bit but it arrived
very well packaged and looks beautiful. Everything that is supposed to be in the box was.
I was suprised the platter came from Buffalo and was here a day after I ordered it. It is VERY heavy
compared to the metal one that comes with the RT82. It is really cool looking, I am glad I got it.
It adds a lot of quality to the setup.

I am going to use a receiver with phono jacks. I don't really care to go the ampilfier/powered speaker route.
I can not tell you what it sounds like yet because it is still in box. I am not a sophisticated listener but I
like the reference concept after studying it. I just want to crank some tunes and party.
I did read all the the reviews and watched every online video I could find and the feedback is overwhelmingly
positive so it should sound ok for my purposes.

Andrew F November 11, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Nova Scotia, Canada

My RT-82 arrived very quickly after I ordered it and it's absolutely beautiful. The white gloves for putting it together was a nice touch! The performance is better than expected and It's brought new life to my vinyl collection and I couldn't be happier.

Amazon Customer November 10, 2022

I like it. Sound good, easy to use, looks pretty.

doug c November 6, 2022

Good looking product, easy set-up, sounds great although I don't have much basis to compare to other turntables

Tim K November 5, 2022 Audiophile - 20+ Years Alberta, Canada

I'm a dj but wanted a turntable for just enjoying music so I went with Fluance. Reviews were great, I liked what I saw and it's a Canadian company! So far it's been great. Just make sure you set it up correctly and you're good to go. I may upgrade in the future... But I kind of doubt it. It sounds great and it's only my beat up records that are the problem

Brittanie K October 28, 2022

I bought the RT82 because my vintage Dual 502 turntable developed a hum that would increase with volume. I couldn't track it down and had been looking into Fluance for months. I finally bit the bullet. It's excellent all around. No complaints. Easy setup, even if you're a beginner, so long as you follow the YouTube video. Excellent sound quality paired with my Sansui 881 and KEF 103/4's. Get one; you won't be disappointed.

Gotbeers October 24, 2022

Coming from an old $100 turntable, I was surprised at the sound in a great way. Clean looking, easy installation with patience. The box arrived a bit worse for wear but everything looked good inside. I ran through the instructions to setup the needle, counter balance and vibration resistant feet. One key thing you will need a preamp if your Reciever doesn't have one.

Johnny V. October 19, 2022 Audiophile - 20+ Years Minnesota, United States

Purchased this as a second table for a smaller system. It was easy to assemble. However the queuing lever was lifting the arm way to high and the arm would sit on the que arm-rest and NOT track at more than .9 g. I had to learn how to adjust the set-screw and fiddle with the arm rest to get the table to track at 2 g. Seems to work well now even with a different cartridge and head-shell.

Paul G October 16, 2022

Coming from a more basic turntable, it took me a while to figure out how to get the tonearm balanced. It wasn't until I found Fluance's video on the subject (Amazon won't let me provide the link but its on Youtube) that I finally got this setup without the tonearm skating. The turntable sounds great with the stock cartridge/needle, and looks great with it's shiny white finish. Love the auto-off feature as well - the fact that the arm does not return to the starting position is no big deal for me.

Matt W October 16, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

I am in love with this turn table, amp and speakers i purchased from Fluance. Could not be happier.

John T. October 13, 2022 Audiophile - 20+ Years Michigan, United States

The Fluance turntable is an outstanding audiophile product. It is very well made and a beautiful turntable to listen to as well as look at. I chose the RT82 I order to use my own cartridge and it has never sounded better.

Johny October 12, 2022

The sound is great. But it doesn't auto stop. Sometimes goes past the vinyl to album info. Killing the needle. Trying to fix but will be returning if I can't.

Jesse G October 7, 2022

Started on this table and have loved it! The finish is excellent and the sound is crisp and clean. Relatively easy to set up but there are guides on YouTube in case you need it. Highly recommend it!

ReversedLogic October 5, 2022

I have a pro-ject evo already but wanted a second turntable for another room and decided to give this one a try. I'm really impressed, I did a back to back and while I admit my ears aren't the best this one sounded every bit as good. I love the auto-stop feature as well so if I walk away I'm not worried about about wearing out the needle. It's a great little turntable for the money.

Josh October 3, 2022

I was hoping for a decent sounding turntable and expecting that the quality to feel a little cheap with the MDF base and price point but I was very wrong to think that! The tone arm and plate are very solid and even the base has some weight and feels sturdy, nothing about it feels fragile at all and the sound is wonderful. Vinyl is so open and clean sounding compared to mp3s and pairing this with the Fluance preamp really unlocks that openness. Paired with a decent pair of powered monitors and my albums come to life. Highly recommended!

Amazon Customer September 30, 2022

I will probably be ordering a replacement, but this first experience was not the greatest. Got it quicker than expected which was nice. Open it up and it was missing the gloves and instructions. Right there I should have known. Got it all setup and read all the instructions on the Company's website and it kept skipping my records. I did everything. I have an older record player that had no issues at all with any of my records. I talked with customer support and after a few days back and forth they couldn't figure out what the issue was. I have since sent it back and might upgrade to the rt83 from the RT82. You might want to buy direct on their website.

Doyle R September 26, 2022

Well built, gorgeous piece of equipment. Hardest part was setting up tonearm/cartridge. But, once that was done it was time to sit back and enjoy the music.

Richelle L September 25, 2022

I am fairly new when it comes to collecting and playing vinyl, so the Fluance turntable was a big upgrade for me. Once I had the turntable set up it was time to see how well it performed... I was blown away by how much better the sound was! It was incredible! It was like listening to my records again for the first time. The turntable has an excellent build quality and was fairly easy to set up. I loved the RT82 so much I have now ordered the RT85! Bravo Fluance!

JDC September 24, 2022

I chose this model as the turntable appeared to be more accurate at 45 RPM than some competing ones at similar price points.- The unit is heavy but feels solid and gives off a nice, polished look- Turntable has rubber mat which I think combats resonance better than other materials- I have connected the Record Player to my home theater. I noticed this turntable is less susceptible to picking up low frequency vibrations when placed closed to the woofer, compared to another make that I checked. I think this is to do with the overall build/stabling and the tone arm material. You don't want these vibrations to be picked up or else they can be audible in the sound output- The motor spindle and belt drive are exposed. I don't like this because you have to keep the record player clear of nearby objects or wires, to keep the spindle or belt from catching stuff- Initial setup is quite a few steps which mainly are to do with tone arm setup. The manual is quite helpful and steps are not hard to follow, but be prepared to spend a few minutes on initial setup. This is a good thing because a proper vinyl setup demands simple checks and balances- I didn't find any skipping (old or new records) once the tone arm weight and anti skid were adjusted according to the manual- The auto stop function works. Turntable starts automatically on tone arm hovering over the record. The placement of the stylus on the record can be controlled by a lever, which helps protect against stylus damage if dropped randomly. However, in non auto stop mode, the turntable starts as soon as you flick the RPM dial on, even with the tone arm docked. I would have loved the turntable to start and stop on swing of the tone arm in non auto-stop mode- Sound quality: It reproduced the stereo sound stage of my 40 year old records nicely, and sibilance also seemed controlled- Only in auto stop mode, some of my 45 RPM EPs will wobble once as the tonearm nears the end of the track. According to Fluance's online help, this can happen with some EPs that are not cut to standard track lengths. This problem can be avoided by playing these EPs in non auto-stop mode- Requires an external pre-amp but I feel an extra few bucks spent on the pre-amplifier is justifiable

Matt B September 23, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

Works perfectly. Easy to setup and solid sound. Quality turntable. Thank you!

David M September 21, 2022

I have the RT85. I bought this one for my adult daughter.

Matt B September 11, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

Easy setup, great sound and nice design. Upgradable so can be made even better.

Alfredo P September 9, 2022

Bought the bamboo/natural wood grain version, two of them. Then upgraded to the acrylic platter. Here is where my trouble began. To make a long story short....if you upgrade to an Audio Technica 520/530/540 cartridge you will need an additional mat. I used an acrylic mat on top of the acrylic platter. Everything worked like it should. Sounded great. What I found out was that the Ortofon OM Cartridge has more depth in reaching the platter. When I used the Audio Technica it would not reach all the way down to the album. Hence the additional acrylic mat. So I replaced the Orotofon OM10 that comes with the turntable with an OM20 stylus and it was well worth the money. It actually sounds better than the Audio Technica VM540 cartridge and stylus. I also got rid of the additional acrylic mat. This is really a sweet sounding turntable with the OM20 upgrade.

John A August 27, 2022

Love it

Joel C August 10, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Brunswick, Canada

Very happy with the turntable! I love absolutely everything about it. Setup was very easy.

D. R August 7, 2022

Quality components, smooth speed control. Might upgrade the needle to the OM-30 some day, but sounds pretty good with the stock needle.

Adam H August 6, 2022

I purchased this for my son and he is astatic about the sound, quality and craftsmanship of the turntable. He's a fanatic music buff and researched what would give him the old turntable sound, not digitally created. Thumbs up!!

James H August 6, 2022

Big upgrade for my 1979 Sony PS-T1. Accurate and reliable and sonically superior to the Sony. It was fun putting the Fluance together upon arrival. Gained a deeper understanding of how the turntable functions.

Skup July 27, 2022

Overall top notch especially for the money. Replaceable headshell was a must, really hard to find. Change the character of it's sound in a few minutes with a headshell/cartridge swap.

Mark J. July 27, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Wisconsin, United States

It was my granddaughter who got me back into vinyl. I gifted her my old Marantz turntable, then decided to try something new. The Fluance RT82 fit my budget, and sounds better than any vinyl spinner I have ever listened to. Depth and detail shine on every track.

Jim July 23, 2022

I purchased the RT82 because of the price and the fact i can upgrade it over time to an RT85 or better. It sounds great as is, so may leave as is. I got the bamboo color as I think the black and walnut (although beautiful) would be fingerprint and dust magnets. Highly recommend this turntable!

Andrés O July 22, 2022 Audiophile - 8 Years New York, United States

The turntable was easy to assemble & it worked like charm with no distortion, no hums with the proper connections, even with the default RCA cables (sounded better with Audioquest Forest RCA between the turntable and the preamp)

Bob W July 15, 2022 Novice Listener - 1 Year California, United States

I'm a beginner vinyl hobbyist, so there's not much weight to my thoughts here. But I will say the assembly of the RT82 was simple and straightforward thanks to the helpful videos. I know the sound quality is also as good as the lowest-quality piece of equipment in your setup, and my preamp and amplifier are not exactly what I'd call top of the line. My speakers, while the most expensive speakers I've ever owned, are still considered entry-level. However, I have never had music sound so good as I do now. I feel like I can hear what material the instruments are made of.

The turntable itself has a premium feel in its operation. I love how it looks in my setup. Even my kids are using it competently like little audiophiles. Very happy overall with the purchase and would highly recommend for anyone entering into the hobby.

Pedro July 14, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Illinois, United States

Great table overall. Had a small issue with a crooked head shell that was quickly solved. Brent from customer support was super helpful and quick to send me a new one.

Gary July 12, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Wisconsin, United States

As can happen with electronic equipment, the first turntable I ordered had a speed control problem. I called Fluance Customer Service and worked with Brent. After 15 minutes of failed troubleshooting attempts, Brent offered to process and return and refund so I could order a replacement unit. I can't overstate how excellent Fluance's Customer Service is. The replacement turntable works perfectly. The Lucky Bamboo finish is sophisticated elegance. I don't think there is a better $300 turntable out there. I have upgraded the cartridge to a Nagaoka MP200 to extract the best performance for my classical record collection. I think the RT82 is an ideal starting point for a vinyl record hobbyist. You're starting with an excellent unit which can be easily upgraded as your passion for the hobby grows.

kabitzin495 July 11, 2022

Excellent sound quality. If you're new to vinyl collecting just note there is some assembly required but the instructions are pretty clear. Also note that this does not have a built-in preamp so you will need to hook this up to a sound system that has one, such as one with a Phono input. If you don't have one you'll need to buy the PA10 Preamp from Fluance's website, it's about $100.

Gary July 11, 2022

I purchased my RT82 directly from Fluance because I wanted to be sure I was a registered buyer with Fluance in case there was a problem. Turned out to be a good idea. The first unit I received had a motor speed problem. I called Fluance, spent about 5 minutes on hold, and then talked to Brent. He spent about 15 minutes with me trying to troubleshoot the problem, and when nothing corrected the problem, he offered to process an immediate return and refund. He suggested this would be the fastest route, and then gave me a discount code to use when ordering a replacement unit. So, my experience with Fluance Customer Service was excellent. My first unit was piano black, and it indeed was a fingerprint and dust magnet. Consequently, when I ordered the replacement, I chose the Lucky Bamboo -- a much better choice for me. The new turntable works perfectly. The included Ortofon OM10 Cartridge performs well in terms of channel separation and provides decent quality sound. I did feel it lacked dynamics in the higher frequencies and lacked the bass punch I wanted for my classical music addiction. I upgraded the cartridge to the Nagaoka MP200, with stunning results. As equipped, the RT 82 provides very good performance and sound for a $300 turntable. The Nagaoka MP200 cartridge at $450, is more expensive than the turntable, but combined with the RT82, the sound dynamics, stereo separation, and the ability to reproduce complex music is simply outstanding. Clearly, another alternative would have been to order the RT85N with its acrylic platter and the included Nagaoka MP110 cartridge. However, the MP110 has a bonded stylus with an aluminum cantilever, while the MP200 has a nude stylus with a boron cantilever for truly superior sound performance. If your budget is $300, the RT82 is an excellent choice. If you can swing $500, the RT85N is a very worthy upgrade. But for me, at $750, the combination of the RT82 with the MP200 cartridge makes the perfect package. A couple technical notes to be aware of: the RT82 does not have an internal preamp like the RT80 and RT81. The automatic stop function at the end of a vinyl record does not lift and return the arm to its rest position; it simply stops the rotation leaving the stylus on the record. For many people, automatic turntables are tempting, but my 50+ years of turntable ownership experience have taught me that the automatic functions add noise and complexity and eventually always fail. There is a reason that uber-expensive turntables are always manual, and not automatic. I highly recommend the RT82 and Fluance. For $300, you can't do better. If your budget can accommodate a bit more, put the money in the cartridge.

Enrique G July 10, 2022

This is my first turntable and I'm highly impressed by the sound.

Eric O. July 8, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

Aesthetically, this turntable is worthy of a centerpiece position in any room. And it sounds and operates great, too.

F July 6, 2022

Upgraded from an AudioTechnica and it has been the best. It looks amazing and it sounds great. The needle is fantastic and with the platter I bought from them, it just makes it all so worth it. Definitely recommend.

Bob D July 5, 2022

The beautiful design and high quality parts make this the perfect HiFi addition to an entry level system.

Mitan July 5, 2022

Love it! Not a beginner turntable though. Not much so that it's advanced, but wouldn't recommend it for beginners. Other than that great turntable!

PeopleCanFly July 4, 2022

After diving deep into the world of vinyl, I settled on the Fluance RT82 and couldn't be happier! Sounds great through my setup and looks great too!

Excellent turntable great value. Easy set up and it sounds and looks great.

GEORGE C June 24, 2022 Audiophile - 20+ Years Illinois, United States

M. H June 23, 2022

I read the marketing. I understood the idea of "reference" in the context of turntables. I had never experienced the difference. It is a delight playing old and new vinyl through my grandfather's 1960s Fisher hi-fi.

Miracle W June 22, 2022

The ease of setup is a huge advantage. The adjustment of the tone arm and needle force is a bit tricky but not a major issue. It is a heavy solid turntable very stable. The 3 feet are very easy to adjust for accurate balancing and the soft material holds the turntable firmly in place. The piano black finish is beautiful..I like the fact it has few frills to break down.If you don't mind getting off your Kester to return the tonearm to rest and position it for lowering to record, this is a fantastic opportunity for a very high end product at affordable price.

Christopher H June 16, 2022

Turntable is great, shipping speed from Fluance leaves a lot to be desired. I think they ship using a stagecoach, took 7 days to receive this. Other than that good purchase.

Robert H June 15, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 15 Years Minnesota, United States

I'm very happy with the 82. My sibling has an 85 and highly recommend your tables. Very high quality for the price.

Danny W June 13, 2022

This is my first new turntable in perhaps 50 years. Back then most were record changers (Garrard, Dual, etc.) or the first of the consumer belt drive tables (Sansui, Technics, etc.). After the complexity of those units it is amazing just how very simple this manual table really is. Basically just a platter, motor, and tone arm as separate items on a wood base to hold them all together. The simplicity almost seems like a toy but it does the job intended and sounds great in the process. I bought the RT82 model for the electronic speed control and am not disappointed. If you are new to vinyl or just rediscovering like me this is a great table for you.

Chris F June 10, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Oregon, United States

For a turntable that's so reasonably-priced, the build quality and features are impressive. After some simple setup, it plays like a dream and because of the way these turntables are made, at this price point, it's basically a foundational platform that can easily turn into an RT85 down the road. Overall, a really solid turntable for general enthusiasts or someone new to vinyl looking to start things off right.

Sean F June 10, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Kentucky, United States

My 1979 Technics Q3 finally went bad on me and I needed a good turntable while I worked on it.
I wanted a removable headshell as I have many different cartridges I like to use. After researching for weeks I opted for the Fluance RT82, it had the functionality I wanted and the satin bamboo finish was all I could think about.
I could not be happier! The tone rivals and even surpasses that of my old Technics... that was unexpected. The first thing I noticed is how quiet it is between songs and at lulls in the music... never noticed the rumble of my direct drive until it wasn't there.
So, the Fluance went from a place holder to my main turntable. Right now I am running one of my 1978 Audio Technica LS 500 carts on it and the sound is simply phenomenal. Not to mention how nice the satin bamboo finish with black tonearm look with my set up.

Howells C June 8, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Manitoba, Canada

Good tunetable, I am satiafied with the build quality and sound.

RonRon June 7, 2022

A turntable needs to be simple, good looking, and accurate. Well... welcome to vinyl perfection everyone old and new to the industry! My setup includes an Ortofon 2M Blue, along with an Ortofon headshell... Acrylic platter. I'm also using a Pro-Ject phono box MM which is grounded, and my output is through a pair of Edifier R2000DB's. I only use quality cables...I've just migrated from a Denon DP-300F. In my setup, the Fluance runs circles around the Denon in every category and its not even close. It makes any of my old turntables look like toys. The workmanship, precision build, weight, look, sound, performance, and price...are all amazing when compared to anything else. The ONLY better quality turntables for the curious listener might be when we are getting into the expensive Rega or McIntosh turntable ranges...and those cost thousands more! I'm an experienced listener and tech savvy adult who has been around music, I also play music so I know quality from bullshit and I know turntables... and Fluance is one of the best brands I've owned so far. This thing is so quiet and the acrylic is so perfect that I can't even tell it's spinning unless I look closely. This actually exceeded my expectations because all other brands have some sort of issue or they are all known for something. I can't name 1 thing I don't like about my Fluance turntable... that says a lot in this day and age. BTW, the first LP I listened to on this turntable... Dark Side of the Moon. Money never sounded better. Soundstage, phasing, etc... all candy to my ears.

I have a lot of high hopes for this turntable based on reviews in various trade magazines. After some trouble getting it up and running, I think I will enjoy this item. I must say that when I reported a problem with the initial setup, I received prompt attention from customer service to help resolve my issue. Rebecca, one of the customer support personnel, reached out to me with suggestions and tips on how to get through the setup process. I believe that Fluance is ready to help with any issue I may encounter with the turntable in the future, which, hopefully will be few.

Beautiful turntable. We bought the piano black color. The unit was well packed. Instructions were good. The turntable is used at least three times weekly. Would buy again from Fluance

Billy S May 17, 2022 Novice Listener - 20+ Years Georgia, United States

Seeing that the purchase of the RT82 was my second it was as pleasant as my first experience. What a great product and company, I would like it if you would please share my thoughts with the employees who made these products. After all they are the heart and soul that are producing such great products. From me to all of you, thank you and I now have a record player at both my houses.

David L May 16, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Hampshire, United States

After buying another brand and returning it after 2 weeks I bought a Fluance RT82 and love it. Awesome sound, I will say Records are sounding so much better than my CD's

Christopher May 8, 2022

Just a great quality turn table.

Derek D May 1, 2022

Sounds amazing, very fair price and looks lovely as part of your setup. Comes in a lot of pieces in a box, but comes with easy to follow step-by-step instructions that I feel anyone could follow. Customer service was very helpful as well, can recommend all around.

Julia A April 29, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years British Columbia, Canada

Impressed with the speed of delivery, quality of packaging, and of course my turntable. The perfect upgrade for me. Truly worth it. Also great to support a Canadian company.

Ward H April 27, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Virginia, United States

I love it! It's a major upgrade for me and I'm really enjoying it. It's made me a more active listener of vinyl and taught me a few things along the way. I really dig having something worthy of the records I've been buying, too. Easy to put together, too! Great experience.

Amazon Customer April 26, 2022

I love my new Fluance Turntable! It looks and sounds gorgeous!

Rick V April 21, 2022 Advanced Listener - 14 Years Ontario, Canada

Incredible looking and sounding turntable for the value. Is my first entry into higher end sound for turntables and happy I went with Fluance. I noticed an immediate improvement in sound quality and the act of playing records is fun again. I went with the RT82 for budgetary reasons so I am looking forward to upgrading it with new components over time, likely with a new cartridge first.

AliceAlice April 20, 2022

It was either this or the 400$ ATH LP120X and I gotta say, not only is it a hundred bucks cheaper, the build quality and componentry are also so much better. Comes with an inuitive system for weighing the tone arm and levelling the table, and the sound quality is superb. Sounds as good as it looks.

Jeffrey C April 20, 2022

Easy setup and great sound.

Could not be happier with this turntable delivered when promised packed extremely well not difficult to set up sounds amazing great value

Greg H April 18, 2022

Love the sound quality and the controls. A little time consuming on the set up but their website has helpful videos. Paired it with a nice preamp and loving it so far.

Radioage April 16, 2022

One of the best TT I've ever owned. I hope to use it to get back into vinyl listening.

B. P April 15, 2022

I replaced a Philips 777 using an Ortofon 15XE MK2 with this turntable. I am using an ART DJ Pre 2, an Alesis RA 300, a DBX 1231 EQ, a Mackie DFX 12 mixer and Klipsch studio monitors. I was concerned that the OM 10 would not perform as well as my previous cartridge. This was not the case, as the OM10 blew my away with its performance. Balancing the tone arm is a little tricky but I have done this before so it was not too bad. Read the manual !! The other thing that I had to a little searching for was the input capacitance. This cartridge is 100pf and you need to set your pre-amp for this. If you don't, it adversely affects the sound. This is a great turntable and cartridge and was well worth the money. It is fully manual with no automatic features.

Steven D April 13, 2022 Novice Listener - 2 Years Maryland, United States

Great turntable. Huge upgrade from my beginner turntable.

Rick K April 12, 2022

Quick and accurate setup. Noticed an immediate improvement in sound and very affordable upgrade to the system. Great price for those who want to step up their quality without breaking the bank. Gotta save some cash for those new vinyls!

Jim R. April 11, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

I love my RT82. I'm an engineer and I am very impressed with the quality and build of this turntable. The shipping was faster than I expected. Only regret I have is not going with the RT83 with it's 2M Red cartridge after having done a bit more research since I purchased.

Scott F April 11, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Tennessee, United States

1st unit was was faulty out of the Box. Fluence was quick to send a return label and shipped a new one out very quickly . Replacement turntable works flawlessly and I am thoroughly enjoying having a turntable again. Workmanship of turntable is outstanding. I would definitely buy again.

Eser S April 11, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 7 Years Pennsylvania, United States

I got my RT82 in piano black so I wouldn't have two different wood colors when it was on my dark brown turntable stand. The included instructions to setup were perfect and easy to follow. The sound quality of my collection is surprising on this turntable, I'm not sure I would benefit from upgrading the stylus. I have this setup on my first floor with a basement underneath and the room is notorious for a bounce when people are walking heavy footed. I have almost zero skips from it. I did buy a stylus force scale to help set the counterweight optimally and I did find the ticks on the counterweigh were a little off from the scale, as expected so my recommendation is invest in a cheap one. Overall, this is a fantastic turntable!

Craig L April 7, 2022 Novice Listener - 1 Year Alaska, United States

Fast shipping, turntable looks and sounds great, solid packaging, setup instructions were clear and easy to follow for a beginner, no complaints. Thanks Fluance!

Sean S April 6, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Ontario, Canada

Love this TT. Looks bad ass and sounds awesome. Very well built, isolating feet are a nice touch and is a welcome edition to my setup.

Art April 2, 2022

I haven't had a turntable in thirty years, this is well worth the money for under 300.00. Great sound easy setup.

Craig H. April 1, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 15 Years California, United States

Loving my new RT-82. The wife harassed me at first asking me how much use it would actually see but say it’s been used every day since I got it over three weeks ago. Have already purchased at least $400 of vinyl. I’m addicted. Quality turntable. Deeply impressed and am loving it.

Don s March 30, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

Just as advertised sounds great

therommy March 29, 2022

It's a very solid performer. This is a good starting or intermediate turntable and beyond. The thing that is great about this model is that it's perfect just the way it is and should last you a very long time. However, if you are the type that likes to upgrade like I am you can choose another cartridge and even an acrylic platter and upgrade it. You won't be disappointed with this turntable that's for sure. I've been listening to vinyl since I was a kid in the early 70's and I have had a few turntables through the ages and this one I would buy again.

Edward R March 27, 2022

Love the RT-82. Solid build quality, great sound, and a huge upgrade over my starter table.

Ray March 24, 2022 Novice Listener - 8 Years Pennsylvania, United States

You won't find a better turntable at these price points. Great turntable, fantastics service and fast delivery. I ended up buying two to have one on each floor of my home.

Sophie B March 22, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 6 Years Colorado, United States

I’ve bought 2-3 record players before (all within the >$400 range) and this RT83 is by far the best quality one in terms of sound, sturdiness, look, and performance. When paired with a good set of speakers, the sound is very noticeably better than others.

Chris H March 20, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Bought the rt 82. It came within 5 days to me. Easy setup,. Packed amazingly. So happy with it can't wait to start upgrading it.

Amazon Customer March 18, 2022

I highly recommend this turntable to anyone looking for for a quality new turntable in the 300.00 price range. Be sure to purchase a digital scale for setting the tonearm weight, a vinyl cleaning kit, and a preamp if your receiver/powered speakers don't have phono inputs. Don't forget to read the instructions carefully. Don't panic when you turn it on and the platter doesn't move. The table ships with auto stop turned on. The platter won't start until the tone arm is over the record.

Matt G March 17, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Really great turntable. Quality construction and it’s modular so you can add to it. Revived my passion for classic vinyl.

Absolutely love this turntable. Sounds great even at the entry level and provides a solid upgrade path

Amazon Customer March 7, 2022

This Fluance RT82 turntable has a very nice clear sound. I'm not an audio file but it sounds as good as more expensive turntables. It looks very good, nice quality and easy set up.

Richard March 5, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years Ohio, United States

Loving the RT82. Great turntable with awesome sound.

Cascott March 4, 2022

Excellent sound. Easy to use. Need separate preamp.

Terry H March 4, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Missouri, United States

I bought this turntable about a year ago and have spent many hours listening to it. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy a turntable as I remember the scratchy sounds of records when I was a kid, so the RT82 was good place to start because I could try it without spending a lot of money and upgrade later if I wanted. Also, the lower cost saved some money so I could start building my record collection.

I have compared a couple of albums that I have on both CD and LP and the two sound comparable, but the CDs sound a little more sterile than the richer sound of the LPs.

The auto stop is a nice feature for when I doze off listening to an album or step out of the room as it comes to the end of the record.

If you are sure you want to get into vinyl, I would buy an RT85; however, if you are uncertain or want to save a little money upfront, then this is a great place to begin. I recently upgraded to an acrylic platter when they went on sale and will be looking to upgrade the cartridge. Hopefully, they will go on sale soon.

shofacemakesshofacemakes March 3, 2022

The ease of setup and overall build quality is fantastic. The sound quality blew be away. I did upgrade from the lenco L85 and the difference is night and day. Brings my music to life. Highly recommend.

Brandon February 28, 2022

Amazon Customer February 26, 2022

After researching various turntable models, I went with the RT-82. With the purchase of a pre-amp and set of speakers playing vinyl is truly enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Bob February 26, 2022

My second fluance turntable

Jake N February 25, 2022

Being inside more, I longed for music that feels more like an experience and more tactile than just skipping through playlists. I have a few records that I bought because I loved the albums, but just had them on display. It was time to hear if they sounded differently than their digital counterparts. So I did some research and decided on the Fluance RT82 turntable, the Suca Audio preamplifier (about $50) since the turntable doesn't come with a preamp, and the Edifier S1000MKIII powered bookshelf speakers which work with the turntable but also can take other inputs and can stream my playlists over bluetooth. Listening to Spotify sounds great on the speakers, but listening to John Coltrane, The Feelies, and Neutral Milk Hotel on vinyl really perked up my ears. Even my wife and kids noticed the difference. My 12 year-old wanted to put on the next record and now my 14 year-old wants her own vinyl copy of Olivia Rodrigo's Sour. The biggest difference my ears can perceive is the space between the notes; a record like Crazy Rhythms takes its time to unwind. I started to recognize how compressed mp3s sound in that there's so little silence. Whereas listening to the vinyl, I can really picture the musicians playing those notes--the drumstick being pulled back before crashing again upon the high hat. Back to the tactile part of the turntable--there's a little lever that lifts the arm. When I first moved the cartridge into place, flicked the lever back down, and watched how slowly and smoothly the needle dropped toward the spinning vinyl all through the perfect balance of the counterweight, I knew I made the right purchase.

I love my new RT82 reference turntable! Beautiful sound and stunning finish. So happy I waited for the Bamboo version, it is stunning and modern looking.

Well made , hi end finishing , excellent sound .

JFDT February 11, 2022

The Fluance RT 82 came with the OM 10 cartridge, which I was looking for too. I own a couple of cartridges; Ortofon Concorde MK2, OM Pro S, and Audio-Technica AT-VM95E. My favorite is the OM Pro S, and it has great bass and amazing sound quality (the other two are great too). I bought the RT 82 as an upgrade for my vintage Technics SL 235, and I thought the OM 10 cartridge was a win-win for me. It has a cool design and looks. However, I am disappointed with the T 82 sound and the OM cartridge (probably I got a crappy one). The sound quality of the bass is not match to my SL 235. I switched cartridges (and switched the pre-amps and used different pre-amps), and the sound quality of the RT 82 improved, but the sound of my SL 235 was still better. You will get a good sound with the RT-82 if you get a decent cartridge (OM Pro S, MK3, or better), and I still recommend the RT 82 if you need a good turntable.

Jeff T February 9, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Kentucky, United States

Yep…love it. My old Thorens had died and it had been some time since I researched tables. All that praise on your site was solid. Easy assembly, clear instructions and stellar sound. A great value!

Akil G February 9, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 4 Years Alberta, Canada

Turntable delivers as promised. It is of excellent quality and can be upgraded, which is really convenient if just starting starting with vinyl and uncertain how much you will use it. Records play extremely well and the packaging, delivery, and customer service was excellent. Would definitely order from them again.

Bud H February 8, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

I purchased the RT82 because I already had an Ortofon 2MRed cartridge purchased for my old JVC L-F210 TT. By my mistake it did not fit accurately so it sat unused for a long time. I ordered the extra headshell for the 2MRed and the acrylic platter as an upgrade. I listen mostly to classical rock, Moody Blues and such and acoustic guitar, Jim Croce, Steven Stills etc. Also enjoy female singers in country and soft rock. This TT, cartridge and platter combo puts up a quality of sound that surprised me. Guitars are so clear as are the singers voices. I gave the "whole purchase package" a 5 star rating because of quality of build, ease of set up, and of course quality of sound. Also I don't think you can beat the price fir what you are getting, bar none. Take your time, do your research I think you will agree.

Chad R. February 6, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year West Virginia, United States

Very nice turn table. It plays very nice. This is the first turn table I have owned since I was about 10; I’m kinda new to the world of quality record players. I could not ask for a better unit than the RT82.

Chuong D February 5, 2022

This is my first record player and I couldn't be happier with the sound and how beautiful it looks. Highly recommend this as your first player.

Matt M February 3, 2022 New Jersey, United States

I bought the Walnut version of this record player and absolutely love it. It's gorgeous and sounds great. I was a little worried about setting this thing up as I've never actually done it before, but it was really quite simple.

John A February 3, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Jersey, United States

The rt82 is a Great turntable. If anything the level to lift the tone arm needs to be a little of both larger and sturdier. Still very happy with the turntable

George T February 1, 2022

Really pleased with my purchase of the RT82 turntable. First it is beautiful (walnut), then simple to setup and use. Had one issue setting it up. It would not spin the record with the black motor cap on. Called and talked to Julie. Sweet and helpful. She instructed me to remove the motor cap and try it. Works perfectly! So I am enjoying playing my old vinyl records. Wow they sound good. Using an Ifi Zen preamp. Love the Fluance turntable and the Ifi Zen. Fluance people are really nice and helpful. They are busy so you have to be patient when you call. Sign of their success.

J D February 1, 2022

I loved this turntable at first. It was easy for a novice to set-up and the sound was quite good. I, like many other reviewers, am annoyed that the arm doesn't automatically return after the album is finished. But, the belt is slipping after listening to no more than 5 brand new albums. My more than 200 vinyl collection was stolen and I'm gragually (and expensively) replacing it. It was a major disappointment when I heard the stylus dragging over one of my new Pink Floyd replacements. I knew it was a stretched belt and I knew my settings were correct.

Jerry C February 1, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

High quality, refinement. Support Canadian manufacturers.

Rocker January 31, 2022

I was skeptical about getting a turntable without a strobe and an adjustable speed control, but my ears are pretty good, and so far it sounds right on the money! Stylus seems to be of good quality, wood looks beautiful, it tracks precisely and Sounds great! I'm impressed!

monk January 31, 2022

This turntable is perfect for me. It is dead silent when plugged into the phono inputs on my 1978 Luxman Receiver. I like everything about it. I found it very simple to set up. I have had it for about 2 weeks. So far wonderful.

Keith M January 27, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Illinois, United States

Looks good. Sounds good. I wanted something I could upgrade, if my ears could actually tell the difference. The RT82 in the entry to the Reference line and starts with good compliments. Realistically, it's all I'll ever likely need. Recommended.

TJO January 27, 2022 Oregon, United States

High quality turntable for a great plus. This product was everything I was looking for and more!

Jonathan N January 26, 2022 Novice Listener - 10 Years New York, United States

Product is great if it works, mine did not. If you are unlucky enough to get a defective cartridge or stylus, your damned. Customer support is IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. emails no reply for a week +. Call the phone number, sit on hold for 45minues, nobody ever picked up. Send subsequent email, no reply. (eventual reply says they are overwhelmed). They tell me to send back my stylus, but will only send out a replacement when they receive the original back. They send a shipping label, but it takes 2 days for it to be emailed out. So i sit here without a stylus. Eventually i just paid for a new one myself, as they are such a pain to deal with. Good Luck to you. Plenty of other options out there if you

R G I January 25, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Virginia, United States

Excellent turntable. For the price I would have expected an automatic start/placement. Easy to set-up and install. I like that the turntable is modular so I can upgrade to a higher quality stylus if needed. The only issue I have is with stylus bouncing due to our bouncy floors, you can't walk too close to the turntable when playing without the head jumping.

Ted R January 25, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Michigan, United States

I love this turntable. It arrived packaged perfectly. Set up was easy and explained very well in the instructions.
My vinyl collection is happy and so am I.

I love this turntable...it's pretty...got great sound...and so easy to set up and play

Luc B January 19, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

After two weeks of spinning records I love the RT82 and its rekindled my love of vinyls. Well packaged and was easy and fun to set-up. I ceramic coated the plinth to keep it very shiny for years to come and resist scratches. Nice craftmanship for the assembly and components, and heavy duty weight. The adjustable legs are a must have. Outputting to the Project Series USB Phone Plus pre-amp to later record my collection.
Listening with the Fluance Ai60 and everything sounds great with good channel separation, clarity and bass production. Mixture of Jazz, Rock and Metal in my collection, with mostly all original disks I purchased and abused in the 80's on. Performed a well known torture test with Metallica's Black Album 180 gram that's a notorious skipper on lesser turntables, and passed without a pop or a skip. Well done Fluance and demonstrates that their settings for the head weight and anti-skip are bang-on for this OM10 cartridge!

Later with wear, will upgrade to the 2M blue and acrylic platter, but honestly not sure how this could get better sounding, preferences aside. Great product and all you need to properly enjoy your records!

Lorin January 17, 2022

I put the ortofon blue on and WOW it sounds great.

AR January 15, 2022

Very easy to set up nice looking and sounds very good through my 43 year old Pioneer receiver. on the nit picky side a place for the 45 adapter would have been nice as I have misplaced it already.

Alan January 12, 2022

Made in canada to last.

aieden p January 11, 2022

Got a totally unplayable unit. End up returning it. I wasted a ton of time in the assembly, troubleshooting in the internet, and with their support not able to resolve. Ugh. So frustrating.

Blaster69 January 7, 2022

On Amazon it states that you need a phono preamp but when I opened the box and read the manual it stated that a preamp is NOT required. So I now have to return the preamp

Amazon Customer January 7, 2022

Just bought this as my first turn table. I was going to go with the RT81 but the wood color was sold out and the other colors were the same price as this one. It was easy to setup, it's easy to use, and it sounds great. Don't forget that this DOESN'T have a built in phono preamp so make sure you buy one.

Kevin L. January 6, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Ontario, Canada

This turntable is absolutely fantastic. The sound quality is wonderful and the build of the turntable is great as well. Love the fact that the table can be further upgraded later on if I choose to. Best bang for your buck in this price range without question. I did tons of research and am happy to have chosen the RT82.

Robert W January 5, 2022

Very good quality it sounds great. Beautiful finish. Only con is that the tone arm lift is a little too close to the tone arm rest. I would definitely recommend this turntable. Very pleased with product. I am somewhat of an audiophile. I have owned several turntables over the years and this one is by far the best ever. I listen to mostly classic rock prog rock and jazz. I have about 200 albums that range in condition from perfect to really bad. I'm using a pioneer receiver from the early 90's complimented with a technics EQ, a set of small ohm speakers and a sub sat set of infinity speakers. this turntable sounds awesome! I went with the RT82 so I could get the better motor and upgrade options. the separation is incredible I feel like I am hearing some of these albums for the first time. The highs are crisp and clear I had to adjust the EQ a little to soften them a little. Mids are good not too harsh. Had to increase the bass a little it's there but just needed a little boost nice and tight not muddy or distorted. Keep in mind I am talking classic/hard rock. the OM10 is very balanced for this table. Speed is spot on. No hum. Heavy and solid. Originally I intended to possibly upgrade the cartridge but now I'm not sure. It sounds great as is! This table is gorgeous. Classic styling. solid, quality construction. I usually don't bother to review products I purchase but in this case I am so impressed I felt compelled to give Fluance a thumbs up for offering a great product at a fare price that stands up to what it claims to be. Good for you Canada!

Glenn G January 5, 2022 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Michigan, United States

Excellent sounding turntable!. I wish there was a light to see tracks at night.. I like the OM10 soon will upgrade to the 2m red.

Frederick D January 4, 2022

Dislike scratches on table and dust cover also did not receive a pair of gloves. Other than that yeah sounds good but I also noticed that the auto - stop does not work, yes it's set on onn mode.

Amazon Customer January 4, 2022

I was originally going to return since I had to upgrade and get a dedicated preamp. I unboxed it instead very much ready to return if it was all hype. Got the upgrades. Now I simply have warm rich sound. Love it. Great product guys. Thank you.

Mark H. January 4, 2022 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Wisconsin, United States

I returned to listening to vinyl. My old turntable failed. Did a lot of online searching and found Fluance. I settled on the RT82 and I’m so pleased I did. Love how good it looks and how well it sounds. Set up was easy. Ok I must have watched way too many videos on how to set it up but there were no surprises. Everything was there and it all went as expected. I also did a fair amount of comparing on cartridges and I love the sound of the cartridge that came on this turntable.

Bigbill January 2, 2022

Great quality for the money. I added a ortofon red. Just buy the 83

Sam M January 1, 2022

As my first record player after a day of having a Crosley portable record player this one seems like a dream. As someone new to collecting records the overall setup was more costly than I'd hoped but I managed to save here and there with the speakers and receiver which made for very good sound at less than 600. Aside from having to make a decision between powered or passive speakers and a receiver or external pre amp it was a pretty easy set up too.

RAYMOND C December 31, 2021

Just a great value for the money. So glad I purchased this.

Lillian December 31, 2021

My husband and I have had a Technics turntable from the 70's and loved it until recently when it just didn't play records correctly. I wanted to play our albums more than my husband so I decided to give myself a Christmas present and proceeded to search on Amazon for a turntable. I don't really know anything about turntables but asked my husband a lot of questions and read many reviews. With luck I came across the Fluance brand with great reviews and several styles to chose from. I narrowed it down by what I was willing to pay and my expectations for sound quality. RT 82 was my choice. I love the ease of using the turntable and sound quality is better than the reviews. My husband is also impressed by the quality and sound of the turntable. Fluance did not skimp on packaging. Every item in the box was securely wrapped so as not to be disturbed in shipping. I am thoroughly happy with my selection and have a new appreciation for vinyl records.

Great value and quality, especially for the money. This is my second Fluance turntable, having previously owned the RT81. My only complaint would be that they do not offer the option (with any turntable) to purchase something without the cartridge, as I already own much better carts than anything they offer. Otherwise I highly recommend.

Upgrade from a vintage table. Immediately the quality is evident and I love the upgrade path thag Fluance offers. No other manufacturer can compete with the value in Fluance.

Easy to assemble and calibrate and excellent sound!

Kelly G December 15, 2021 Audiophile - 15 Years Illinois, United States

We may have to return the system as the tonearm does not adjust properly. I have tried contacting customer service but all they tell me via email is the same information that's in the manual. The tonearm doesn't lower so at this point the record player doesn't work.

Mark L December 15, 2021 Novice Listener - 1 Year New York, United States

I wanted my first turntable as something that wasn't too large of an investment, in caseI decided I didn't like it, but at the same time, one that was upgradeable so I could expand years down the road. I picked up the RT82 as the best of both worlds. First time setting it up, I had no idea what I was doing, but Fluance videos were a great help and made it very easy. Within minutes, I was listening to my first vinyl record and enjoyed the experience. Now I'm looking to build up my catalog.

Sheldon C November 27, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Everything that was promised and more. It truly is audiophile quality at a mid grade price. Great performance and beautiful piece to just look at.
It even came with white gloves and level to balance it. Very pleased and impressed. Thank you for taking the time and care to do it right.

Eric P November 16, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Nevada, United States

I bought my RT82 as a TT for my second system in my family room. After using it, I may try a A/B comparison against my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO in my main system. I'm very impressed so far.

R. A November 11, 2021

The turntable works great and has produces excellent sound on both new and well-used records. One item in the set-up process (which was otherwise straightforward) which is VERY important is the ground wire to the amplifier. The 3 foot long wire enclosed did not reach my amplifier and I tried to play it without connecting the ground. Very loud static feedback and a loud hum was the result. A home made wire eliminated that completely. The troubleshooting guide also mentions that speakers should not be on the same shelf near the turntable which is where mine were), that the amp should not be too close to it and that using an extension cord or power strip may also cause feedback or a hum. Since I am using permanent built-in shelving, the distance from the turntable to the amp and to the nearest outlet were not reachable with either the supplied ground wire or power cord. Fortunately, using a power strip extension seems to work fine. Also, I was able to relocate the speakers away from the turntable. It would seem that some engineering could be done to eliminate or minimize the feedback and supplying a longer ground wire would enable users to keep the amp at a distance and still reach it without fabricating a longer one.

JimR November 11, 2021

Excellent turntable for the money. Well built and excellent sound. Only thing I might do, in the future, is upgrade to the red cartridge but the stock one is very good.

Amazon Customer November 10, 2021

Rob, R. October 26, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 15 Years Colorado, United States

I purchased the RT82 to install it into an antique Victrola console i restored. Unfortunately, this will be given as a gift to by father. I say unfortunately because in my testing of all the components, I really enjoyed everything about the RT82. It looks amazing, sounds great, it just really delivered on my hopes. And setup was a breeze!
If there was one "improvement", would love an auto return on the arm, as part of the auto-off function, where the arm would return to its cradle after finishing the record. But that is a minor wish when I consider what the RT82 delivers on.
Would recommend this turntable to anyone will to spend a little bit more than an entry level turntable (but nowhere close to the expensive higher-level audiophile options). This can deliver great sound with a great look, and at a reasonable price.

First timer here and I think I make the right pick. Easy to setup, easy to use, sounds amazing. My ONE issue is the metal cap that covers the motor doesn't fit properly, if it's installed the motor doesn't spin. I just left it off for now and it works like a charm (haven't had time to call in yet)

Peter September 28, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Nova Scotia, Canada

Love that turntable! The only thing I would do different is that I would buy the RT 84 or 85, because of the Ortofon 2M Blue. It costs a bit more to upgrade after and then it needs adjusting. Not a big deal so.

Besides loving the turntable, I am also amazed with the fantastic service I got from Julie. I had the occasional buzzing sound showing up. She helped me trying to figure out what it is. I narrowed it down to the RCA cable and she promptly send me a replacement. It's rare these days to get such great service.

Thank you Fluance for great products and service!!!

Once I discover it needed a amplifier it was easy, my speakers had a amplifier in them but are not strong enough to give sound to deck, i bought the amplifier from Amazon it was only 17.99 and very small, now set up it has a great sound, stereo was easy to set up.

pavel September 18, 2021

my favourite turntable now

Andrew H September 17, 2021

Although I've been very into achieving great sound quality, I've only recently been getting into the world of vinyl. I had always used simple, cheap turntables where you move the needle and go. This one comes with excellent instructions on how to adjust the counter weight, make sure the table is level and a lot of other information on how to achieve the best sound. My albums have never sounded better and I recommend this turntable for anyone else who wants superb audio quality without completely breaking the bank.

Ken J September 16, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Kentucky, United States

I wanted to love the RT 82, but I have since returned the unit. The good—quality build, easy setup, nice visual presentation. The bad—-the Ortofon OM 10 is just not a very good cartridge and Fluance needs to up their game on this choice. The deal breaker was the auto stop feature. Sometimes it worked and other times not. When it did work, I felt like it took too long to function. The manual states that it may take 30 seconds or longer to activate and that’s too long IMO. I probably would have been much happier with a semi-automatic which Fluance did not offer.

A. S September 10, 2021

I am shocked and appalled at how loud and terrible the motor is. Out of the box there was an issue with this turntable. A very audible and loud noise came from the motor, and the speed is all over the place. I will be returning this turntable, and buying another brand. I should have not gambled and listened to the other review honestly.

R. G September 10, 2021

Great audio from my vinyls. Price is a bit high but worth it.

Graeme W September 9, 2021

Dead easy to set up and the quality is exceptional for the price. I had an Ortofon Red kicking about and it took the sound to the next level. Highly recommend TT with easy upgrade if you want to improve your listening.Buy It

OUTSTANDING deck. Stunning finish, "weight" , build. Does everything I want it to, no more, no less. And does it elegantly. Sound is fantastic out-of-box, and getting progressively better throughout break-in period. Can't believe they pack so much performance / style into this price point. LOVE. Looking forward to exploring more of the Fluance product line.

Amazing product! After doing some extensive research, I decided the RT82 is the perfect first turntable for me. Not only is this turntable a beauty, but the quality is amazing. I've been enjoying each record I play on this. I've had one tiny defect but Julie from customer service helped me out with my issue. Customer service is one of the best I've ever seen. Glad I chose Fluance and I know I'll be sticking around for a long time because of their A+ customer service. Thank you Fluance for the quality product and thank you Julie for all the help!

I don't claim to be an audiophile. But I am an experienced listener of quality music and have mixed music professionally in the past. I had an old Technics turntable for decades and kept my vinyl collection in good condition. Once I setup the Fluance RT82, I was impressed with the richness of tunes that I had not experienced from my previous setup. The setup takes patience and attention to detail. But not too difficult to follow. It does require a preamp (But most quality turntables do). I didn't experience any need to "burn in" the sound (as other reviewers mention) as it has sounded great since the first album played! If you can appreciate good audio and you are meticulous about caring for your collection and your gear, you will like this product.

MJS August 4, 2021

I picked this up looking for a quality platform that was good as is, and also would be good for future upgrades. The beauty of this table is in how much it can be further upgraded with almost no hassle. The body is very sturdy and weighty, and does not shift around at all. The platter is belt driven, so it gets little physical vibration from the motor. The cartridge is pre-aligned from the factory, so you don't have to worry about alignments as a beginner. It comes with a cue lever, so if you're the type to be nervous about dropping the arm too hard, you don't have to worry. Overall it's a great purchase.

Copy of review for the 81 comparing both tables:I got this one for my bedroom and the 82 for my living room which is much bigger. I mainly got this one for the walnut color which was sold out in the 82 and I figured I'd compare them this way. Slightly different rigs. This one has a Sony amp with old Pioneer 3 way speakers vs an onkyo with polk towers downstairs. Both rigs are excellent but slight advantage downstairs and I'd say the om10 is a slightly better cart vs the at95 but all in all these turntables are amazing. I played the first 2 sides of deloused in the comatorium on both tables. Sounds are Bouncing around the room. Om10 slightly prettier at95 slightly livelier. Both of these tables are amazing. One of my favorite albums really coming to life right out of the box. I've heard the at95 needs burn in time too so this really is a great cart. Both are beautiful tables and solid af. The walnut is definitely my favorite but the black is very classic and looks great. I'm switching from project rpm and technics which were also nice tables but I honestly think these are the best sounding tables I've ever had. Also upgraded both to acrylic mats. You will not be disappointed. I'd say go with the om10 but really both sound amazing

After fiddling with a Pro-Ject Essential III for a few months and being not too happy, I saw this Fluance RT82 as a New - Open Box special. It was exactly as described, really brand new. (Both had Ortofon OM 10 Cartridges installed.) I was shocked how it beat the Pro-Ject hands down. The Pro-Ject was very sensitive to outside vibration and noise, and no matter how I tweaked it there was a constant motor noise transmitted through the tone arm and cartridge. The motor operation was actually audible a few feet away with the volume turned down. The Fluance is dead quiet, well isolated from motor and other noises and vibrations, and not too prone to skipping from footsteps near it. Overall it seems to be an entire grade of quality above the Pro-Ject. Tracking, speed and stability are amazing for the price. Paired with a Yamaha A-S501BL Amplifier and JBL 4312G monitors it is a pleasure to listen to without constant fiddling.

It's been decades since I last spun a vinyl. The rt82 IS the perfect table to rekindle an old passion. Beautiful table & super simple to put together. Will I need to upgrade from this model??? Perhaps, but not for a looooooooong time. Thank you guys for a fantastic piece of audio porn

TC O July 20, 2021

Did alot of research - been playing records for years, owned a restaurant that spun vinyl 12 hours a day. This is the real deal - the best value & performance you're going to find. Just do it! It's worth every penny.

Marcia S July 17, 2021

I didn't realize all of the assembly necessary, I've never bought a turntable new before. But, with a bit of frustration, once I rechecked everything, including the gear cap for the belt, and put that in properly, the turntable worked silently like a charm! Cute little button level to precisely level the turntable for optimum sound. Wonderful for that pure analogue vinyl sound! Very happy with this purchase!

Curtis P July 16, 2021

Everything about this turntable...looks, sound, quality build and size. I know I don't sound like an "audiophile " , but size actually matters. I needed something that would work well with the dimensional limitations that exist with my entertainment stand and this turned out to be an excellent fit! Having the speaker stands cutom built for the speakers (which have incredible bass for bookshelf speakes) to finish off the ensemble. Only complaint is that Fluance did not have the needed preamp available, so I purchased an inferior brand to get my turntable operational. Still sounds great, just wanted to stay with all Fluance components.

Sarah S July 8, 2021 Novice Listener - 1 Year California, United States

I got this as my first serious turntable and am super happy with it so far! The setup took some time but was fairly painless as the manual did a great job of explaining what to do. I think it sounds fantastic (although I don't have another point of reference)! I'm very happy and would recommend!

R. A June 24, 2021

Haven't had it for long but, so far so good....Easy to setup and calibrate!

kaylin June 19, 2021

Love the sound quality. I finally decided to throw money at a nicer sound system for my records after using audio technica for years. The set up was a little hard to understand but I eventually got the hang of it. Looks amazing in my space and the sound is immaculate!

Amazon Customer June 17, 2021

I was looking for a reasonably priced turntable with good sound quality. I wanted no preamp and the RT-82 was a great fit. This table is also upgradeable to a RT-83 to a RT-85. The sound quality is very good with the Ortofon OM-10, a good to go and dependable cartridge. One of the deciding factors for me was this is a Canadian based company. Thanks Fluance for a great product at a reachable price.

Michael M June 15, 2021

This does a lot of things great. Great instructions, comprehensive packaging, sounds great in the best case scenario. However, they went cheap on the stylus. Once u get to the last one or two songs on the record, it struggles mightily on tracking - including new records. The stylus is cleaned regularly and routinely underperforms on the last couple songs resulting in heavy distortion. This would be a 5 star product if they instead included the OM20.You’re better off getting a $100 turntable with a $200 stylus.

Bradley R. June 10, 2021 Advanced Listener - 5 Years Alberta, Canada

Really good looking, great performing turntable. That said, I don't have a large, high-quality receiver, nor do I have a surround sound setup. I'm operating, at the moment, on two mid-tier bookshelf speakers. The turntable looks excellent, the setup was relatively straightforward, and the playback is superb. Very, very little flutter or wow experienced so far.

I could not be happier for the price paid. This is a very high-quality belt-drive turntable that really delivers on aesthetics and performance. After having used various other belt-drives and direct-drives, I'm happy to have this as my end-game.

Alexander P. June 10, 2021 Novice Listener - 1 Year other

This turn table is fantastic! Both in looks and sound and it is a very good price.

Amazon Customer June 9, 2021

An honest to goodness quality turntable. Sounds great and has been reliable without issue. I upgraded the platter to the high density acrylic platter and can upgrade the cartridge anytime although the Ortofon OM-10 it comes with is great. I was stuck between this and the debut carbon evo. I can't say anything about the evo buy I can say I have no regrets choosing this turntable. This may not be the highest end turntable but the quality for the money is right on point.

Stuart W June 8, 2021

This is the best sounding turntable I have ever used and it is beautiful set up is easy and upgrading is super easy I purchased the vinyl platter and a spare belt from fluance and put a ortofon qbert that I already had and it sounds amazing. The auto stop takes about 5 to 8 revolutions before it stops. I shoped for weeks before I pulled the trigger on my flaunce turntable and I'm very happy I did its will last me for years to come...

James P June 8, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Arizona, United States

I love the turntable but the cartridge is awful. I've played it around 40 hours so far and the cartridge sounds like something from one of those old 60s record players we had at school. I guess I'll have to try and find a good Sumiko cartridge for it.

Very safely packed, easy to put together. The gloves and bubble level were a nice touch and the 3 x feet design makes it really easy to get it level too.
I considered quite a few turntables at this price and the Fluance came out as best value for money and also gives me some upgrade options if I feel the need.

Beautiful turntable (Bamboo finish is amazing) that sounds as great as it looks. This turntable makes my Technics SL-D1 sound like something from Crosley.Full, warm sound that sparkles with high end.Listening to albums is so awesome. There is no equal for enjoying music. Plus listening to a complete album for which they were made is so nice in a world that barely plays a song before the artist isn’t even heard of again.Hendrix, Bowie, Beatles, Burning Spear, Hank Williams, Stravinsky.....what’s next?

All the good reviews were dead on. I am extremely pleased with my new RT-82 turntable. It looks great and sounds even better. My only complaint is with the packaging. Although everything was intact, plastic, styrofoam and tape is not a good mixture. Product is highly recommended. Cheers

Andrew W April 13, 2021 Novice Listener - 1 Year Washington, United States

Right off the bat, this is my first turntable and I really don't have a point of comparison, but of you're looking for a beautiful table with amazing sound the RT82 is a great starting point that can be upgraded over time to match the RT85.

If you're new to vinyl and looking for something at a mid range price point or even if you've been listening for a couple and ready to upgrade from a budget table, the RT82 is an excellent table for the price.

Carmine C April 9, 2021

It was easy to assemble and good sound

James S April 4, 2021

I've tried turntables for under $200 and they simply not that great. While the bulk of these are Audio Technica or have the same mechanics as AT, they continuously have issues with skips on records that never have and muddier sound as the album progresses. You can't get a good automatic / semi-automatic that works well anymore (I miss my Technics turntable). So I sucked it up and got the Fluance. I will say as an actual record player, the sound is really good and it plows through problematic records that the AT couldn't handle. Setting it up was fairly easy especially if you follow the video the company posted on YouTube which takes about 5-10 minutes from unboxing to playing. It's a reasonably inexpensive turntable that's meant to work like a pricier audiophile one. I'm also pleased that the speeds on the turntable were pretty accurate right out of the box. That said, I find it odd that Fluance couldn't add a few more features. It's advertised as a 'semi-automatic' turntable, but that's being extremely generous. The only feature that's semi-automatic is the turntable will stop when the needle gets to the end after 20 seconds. That's it. There's no power shut off, no auto return, nothing. You have to drop the needle and return the tone arm manually, and even after that, the power dial also has to be turned off. I don't know if anything bad would happen by leaving it on, but for 21st century equipment, this seems way behind the times. I guess one of the manual benefits is you don't accidentally have it set for an LP when you mean to play a 45 and have the needle automatically miss the record and damage the needle. Given how replacement needles for this are fairly expensive, I could see why one would want to me more cautious but they do provide better sound than cheaper ones and perform better like I said before. In summery. it's a turntable that performs and sounds well, but it takes a bit more effort on your part.

I would like to see a retaining post or recess for the 45 RPM adaptor. I also wish it had the capacity to spin 78 RPM records. Other than those two suggestions, the item is as advertised as performs beautifully for me.

Ray i March 28, 2021

Easy to setup and sounds great right out of the box, great value for the money. Auto stop feature is not exactly what I thought. I could also not figure out how to get the leveling feet to work yet but turntable is level so it doesn't really matter and the stabilizing feet pads also work great. I read some reviews on the OM 10 needing a break in period, not sure about that, because it sounds just fine on the first play.

First impressions are very good. I purchased the rt82 after lots of research and let me just say that every positive thing I've heard about it was true. It's absolutely beautiful, has great sound quality, is easy to setup and just plain works great. The only down side I found was that it came with a few scuff marks under the platter area but it's not a big deal.

Brett S March 9, 2021

Having had a Crosley from UrbanOutfitters from about five years, which as a starter record player was great, built in speaker, no need for an amp, this was a welcome upgrade. It looks amazing, which is awesome, and it really does feel like the next level of a record player. The sound quality is more crisp. The set up was easy with the video Fluance provides. One thing to remember, I had read this somewhere before purchasing, when you first play it, it is not at its best. I think it was something like ten hours in does it kind of warm up and get the sound you are looking for. My first couple records I played I thought something may had been wrong, but the more I used it, the better it got.

Bruski March 9, 2021 Advanced Listener - 8 Years Massachusetts, United States

Easy to set up, comes with everything necessary besides the pre amp (I got a schiit for it recently), and puts out a wonderful range of sound. A major step up from my old crosley and p mount technics turntables. No gripes whatsoever so far.

So far, I am very impressed with the RT-82. It arrived nicely boxed and set up was simple and quick. My first test was a half-speed master disc of the original Boston. The sound was nice and clear with no distortion nor feedback. The sound of pure music from vinyl reminds of what music should sound like with no compression or enhancements.

After winding up with my late Mother-In-Laws LP collection, I decided to purchase the RT-82. It was easy to set-up and it has been quite rewarding reliving my wife's families past experiences with vinyl records. My wife and I have begun to add our own records to the collection and very much enjoy the entire experience.

Wanted to upgrade to a nicer unit as I grew more serious about my collection and I’m so glad I did! Everything about the unit came pristine, including white gloves for the set up process. Set up took about 30 minutes and was simple as long as you follow along with the directions. They also have a YouTube version of instructions if you’re more of a visual person.

Sound quality, overall appearance, satisfaction all 10/10. It seems durable I like the heavier feel of the wooden base. It looks sleek and classy. I am loving this new addition.

Beautiful, well thought out turntable. Hooked it up to a small phone preamp and connected it to my Google Home speakers. Sounds great?

Chris E March 4, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years South Carolina, United States

Fantastic product. Looks and performs wonderfully

Ryan H March 4, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

Very happy with my purchase. I considered the RT85, just for the acrylic platter. I have several ortofon om20 stylus so I wanted the om10 cartridge. Also, the RT82 has a tonearm with a significantly lower effective mass. I feel that the RT82 with upgraded acrylic platter is a better setup and $100 cheaper. I just wish they gave the option to swap out the old platter for a small discount, because now I have an aluminum platter I have no use for. My only gripe about the turntable is the dustcover, it's definitely on the cheap side, but not a big deal overall.

Joe W. March 4, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New Jersey, United States

I've been looking to upgrade my turntable as my collection of MOFI vinyl has increased and i really wanted to experience the best sound i could afford. This is a great quality product for less than $300 and the sound from my Klipsch system is amazing. I will be adding the PA 10 preamp to my system for additional power to turn up the volume....

Nicolas t. March 3, 2021 Audiophile - 20+ Years Quebec, Canada

Great product ! I will recommand it all the way.

Love it! Best purchase I could’ve made. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow as well.

Alexandra D February 23, 2021

I waited a month for this to come in and it was worth every second of it. I had read reviews and researched a lot of other turntables and even returned (the pro-ject) one to get the Fluance. The sound is crisp and you wouldn't even know there is a motor in it if it was possible. I did purchase an acrylic platter and it was 100% worth the upgrade. Would 10/10 recommend this to anyone in the market for their first turntable or even if you're in the market for a new one. I almost went with another pro-ject turntable and I'm happy I didn't. You certainly can not beat it for the price (I purchased mine at 299, I'm not sure what it's at now). The only thing I would have liked to see is the option to purchase a Grado cartridge but I can always do that in the future anyway. Still, the Ortofon OM10 cartridge is an all-around great cartridge and I can see why they would offer these with their product.

This turntable is amazing! I love my RT82 paired with my receiver and my klipsch speakers. The setup sounds amazing!

Jose B. January 26, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years Florida, United States

Great turntable. Played well, and it is gorgeous. However, this is the third review I have sent to Fluance, and so far no notice about the advertised 25% off.
Get the turntable, and enjoy it, but be aware that Fluance's customer service experience is not as great as the turntable itself.

Michael T January 25, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Virginia, United States

This turntable is in a word, "terrific". I love its look and the way it works so easily. My wife say's it's "beautiful" too. I agree. It's as pretty as it is functional. She agrees it look great out in the open.

Blown away with my older DGG and Phillips, such clean sound. Saint Saens Organ Concerto WOW, installation was easy and straight forward

Alexander M. January 20, 2021 Novice Listener - 1 Year California, United States

I did constant research before making my purchase for the RT82 versus other competitors. So far, I am enjoying my first turntable! I am content with the packaging, quality and company as of now.

Bernardo C January 15, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Florida, United States

As someone a bit new to vinyl, I had listened to my records on a new -but cheap- turntable, or on a good -but old (and worn)- turntable. To be able to finally do this on a new-good turntable is quite the pleasure. Sounds amazing!
(And looks amazing too).

Martin S January 14, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years Ontario, Canada

Great turntable

Katy T. January 12, 2021 Novice Listener - 1 Year California, United States

After researching for quite some time, I settled on choosing the RT-82 as my first turntable. Super happy with my purchase! Fluance did a great job packaging the turntable for shipping. Set up was very straightforward. Listening to albums on this brings such a better experience over listening to music digitally. No regrets!

Callum, M January 12, 2021 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years District of Columbia, United States

I can't speak highly enough of the RT82. I was skeptical about the benefits of upgrading from my older AT-LP60, but the difference in audio quality is night and day. Set-up was a breeze, with the entire process taking about fifteen minutes from opening the box to playing my first record. I can't recommend this highly enough!

Alexander January 12, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Washington, United States

Easy to set up, great cables, turntable feet, level, lid, etc. Looks beautiful, sounds great. Couldn't be happier and I am super appreciative that the R82 has the same foundation as the R83-R85 and that the loss of the phono amp brings the price of the R82 down to reach. Very considerate in-between model.

Robert B January 10, 2021 Novice Listener - 1 Year British Columbia, Canada

The instructions to set everything up was very detailed. Quality and sound is amazing. I am very happy with my purchase of the RT82.

HUGH P January 9, 2021 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Wisconsin, United States

Wow! I started with purchasing two RT81s for my Daughters. I liked the look and description. When they arrived I was amazed at the build quality and sound. In the market for a new TT I opted for the RT82 for it "upgradability" It is amazing. The plinth is solid and the components are high end. It sounds amazing. The attention to detail is something found on turntables costing hundreds more.

Austin A January 8, 2021 Novice Listener - 2 Years Georgia, United States

I am very new to the audiophile experience but I will say I am extremely happy with my purchase. Fluance was suggested to my by my brother who said that this Canadian company has continually beat competition with their product. Their turntables are easy to upgrade, they look beautiful and sound amazing. My turntable was packaged perfectly and came in pristine shape. The system was easy to install and if you get stuck along the way the website has a link to their YouTube video to help you out. I’ll recommend this brand for years to come.

Tiina F December 28, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years Ontario, Canada

Bought as a Christmas gift for my fiancé. It shipped right on time, safe packaging. Once he opened I was so excited that it looks even better than in the photos. Very easy set up, now we are looking to update our speakers to test it out!

Gerry A December 27, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Connecticut, United States

Bought as a christmas gift for my wife ... shipping was fast and thanks to great directions I was able to set it up and test it so she could use it immediately on Christmas morning. Went with the 82 as it was completely upgradable if we choose to update our other equipment like speakers and amp. The cartridge sounds amazing on our current system and I am very impressed with the overall quality of the entire piece. Auto stop is a great function for those not used to needing to stop the table after a record side plays - if you're used to CDs etc, then you'll actually be surprised at how quickly the end of a record side comes! But it works great as well.
Overall it sounds fantastic, its easy to use, and a gorgeous piece of equipment! We haven't listened to vinyl in almost 30 years .. so great to be able to revisit all our favorites and start adding to the collection.

Solid table with great sound. Excellent value as well.

Len R. December 24, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Manitoba, Canada

Good value at this price point. I purchased the Fluance RT82 for the following reasons:
1. precision servo controlled belt drive motor
2. auto shut off when record ends
3. speed control knob ( no need to physically move the belt when
changing speeds) I really like this feature.
4. attractive, solid wooden plinth
5. detachable RCA cables to connect to a pre-amp
6. can be upgraded
7. sounds very good for a turntable and cartridge at this price point

Max C. December 18, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years New York, United States

Could not be happier with my purchase. The table was easy to set up, looks beautiful, and, most importantly, sounds fantastic. I did a ton of research on comparable products in the price range and even ordered a few competitors to see how the Fluance stacked up. It was far and away the best of the bunch. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality turntable at this price point.

Edward S. December 17, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Georgia, United States

I bought this as a Christmas present (and have yet to unwrap it), however I did open the box when I received it - everything looks great, well packed and protected or shipping. I received the turntable a day or two earlier than what was estimated!

Love that it’s customizable for future upgrades, and very happy to support a Canadian company, especially during Covid.

Can’t wait to put everything together and take it for a spin!!

Frank J December 16, 2020 Advanced Listener - 5 Years Wisconsin, United States

This is the best turntable you can buy under 300.00. I researched them all and glad I made this choice.

Andy B. December 15, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Texas, United States

You have to evaluate a product at it's price point, and at $300 the RT82 is hard to beat, as far I can tell. This is my first turntable, but did a fair amount of research before purchasing. You can read through the RT82's spec sheet for yourself, but what separates this tt from the competition is it's good looks. For a pleasure purchase, function is not enough -- the thing has to look good too, and the high gloss walnut veneer is handsome indeed. Barring the usual disclaimers that taste is subjective, I can say that the fit and finish is as sharp in person as it is online. My only real criticism is the plastic tonearm lock and plastic tonearm circular base(?); something metal would be appreciated. As far as upgrades, I'll probably end up buying Fluance's frosted acrylic platter, not to better anything sonically (I'm happy with the sound), but to make the RT82 that much more attractive. I wouldn't have a problem recommending this to others.

Anjan S December 14, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Massachusetts, United States

Josh G December 12, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years Florida, United States

After working out the kinks in my set up and adjusting some bad habits I developed from using a lil Jensen, I can say that I'm extremely satisfied with my Fluance experience. Everything was packaged well and the manual was easy to understand. Once set up was complete I ran through my current collection and it felt like I was hearing some of it for the first time. It's good to know that I can upgrade certain parts later on, but for now I'm going to be putting plenty of hours on this table.

I recieved My Fluance RT82 yesterday, less than 24 hours ago. I am so impressed with the quality of this turntable. It's beautiful! I was such an amazing turntable that I decided to call Fluance and share my thoughts about how great this product was. I have purchased numerous audio and video components over the last 35 years and this RT 82 Turntable really impressed me. I'm so happy with my purchase. I look forward to purchasing more products.

And a special thanks to Shalamar, the Fluance representative that I spoke with over the phone. She was extremely nice and informative.

Thank you Fluance

David November 21, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 4 Years New York, United States

I researched many turntables in this price range and based on professional and customer reviews purchased the RT 82. I am completely satisfied. Sound is beautiful and set up was easy and painless. I have been listening to vinyl for several years and this is the next level TT and first where I had to balance a tonearm. I highly recommend to newbies like me and anyone looking for a an upgrade that looks great, sounds even better, and is simple to set up.

Derek, Y November 20, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year California, United States

This my first turntable and I couldn’t be happier. It’s beauty, solid performance and phenomenal sound quality (after upgrading stylus) make is really a budget steal. I would highly recommend!

Terry November 18, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

Firstly, the turntable is beautiful. It sounds great and operates smoothly. I was nervous to setup the turntable initially, but it turned out to be much easier than I thought. Levelling the turntable wasn't the easiest, as one of the legs didn't turn very well. The leg issue might have had to do with the shipping.

The free ground shipping from UPS was absolutely terrible. The corners of the box were dented on all sides. All of the packing tape holding the flaps down the the body of the box had broken. Only the tape holding the flaps to each other was intact. I'm seriously surprised nothing fell out of the box. The packing tape needs to be much stronger and the shipper (UPS) needs to take more care with their packages. Why this box wasn't labelled fragile is beyond me.

I rated down one star because of my shipping experience. I wanted to rate it down further, but I'm pretty happy with the turntable.

Holly R November 16, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Arizona, United States

This turntable sounds incredible. My vinyl sounds better than it did the day I bought it! I'm reliving growing up, one LP at a time.

Philip November 14, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Mississippi, United States

This is a Great Turntable. I own a Rega Planar 3 with outboard power supply for 33/45 rpm and this thing does not miss a beat compared to it! The design is very Rega-like with the 3 shock absorbing feet and the very smooth action dust cover (smoother than Rega). I bought this for my daughter and she will not be disappointed.

David J November 14, 2020

Simple to assemble. Great sound

Zach O November 14, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year North Carolina, United States

I wanted to get into vinyl for years, but decided to finally take the plunge over this covid-19 period. My turntable options came down to the AT-LP60X, AT-LP120X, AT-LP3, the various U-Turn Orbits, DP-300F, and RT82. When thinking about the features, the choice became clear. The speed monitoring motor on the RT82 isn’t found on any other turntable listed in this review. The only other turntable in the list that either monitors speed for you, or allows you to easily monitor/correct the speed (without tinkering with screwdrivers), is the AT-LP120X, but that table doesn't have Auto-Stop like the RT82. Having a record spin for hours without Auto-Stop can damage the record and degrade the stylus, so this feature is crucial for a turntable. I can fall asleep to a record and not have to worry about the damage done when I wake up.

I haven't tried the RPM app yet for speed accuracy, but I haven't felt that it was needed. Other reviews here report a perfect reading of 33.3. The Auto-Stop has worked with every record I've tried so far. The bamboo finish is stunning to look at, and I prefer its' more "modern" look. The most important aspect: it sounds great.

If you're looking for a great beginner turntable, this is it. If you're looking for an upgrade to your turntable, this is it.

Henry M. November 13, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Kentucky, United States

Growing up in the analog era, high fidelity to me was defined by a finely recorded and pressed vinyl LP played back with vacuum tube amplification through quality loudspeakers. I never got the same enjoyment from CDs and solid state amplifiers, and I drifted away from enjoying music. I decided it was time to remedy that situation and purchased the RT82. It is absolutely stunning! I have never enjoyed my record collection as much as I do now with this marvelous turntable. It exudes class and style with exceptional build quality. It was easy to assemble and set up, and when I played the first record I couldn't believe it. It's just so musical and pleasant to listen to. I have absolutely no complaints or nits to mention. It's everything I would have wanted in a turntable. What an amazing value!

Lee T November 10, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Kansas, United States

After my 1970's Phillips turntable was getting tired, I decided to upgrade. I spend many hours researching turntables in this price range. I decided on the RT-82 for a number of reasons. First, it looks great. It is a classy mix between new and old school. Since I have mounted it on top of a 1960's console I have converted to hi-fi, this is important. Next the features and specs. I love the warm and rich sound of the Ortofon cartridge. Definitely an upgrade from the AT cartridge I had before. The auto-stop feature is nice. Using the RPM app, it spins true to 33.3. I'm very impressed with it not skipping when you walk by on my 100 year old floors. Fluance shipped it quickly and it was packaged well. I am very pleased with the RT-82 and hope to enjoy it for many years.

Mitchell B November 8, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

This turntable was a replacement for my old Technics SL-B2 whose speed control finally gave out. The performance of this table matches its physical beauty. The bass response of the RT82 was instantly noticeable and the overall sound was vibrant, clear, resonant...every positive adjective one can think of. I read many positive reviews before buying this table and could only hope my experience would be the same when it arrived. I'm exceedingly happy with it.

Job November 5, 2020

This turntable is, according to almost everyone and everything, one of the safest bets in middle-high class turntables. The sounds is really nice, easy to set up and it is a good looking piece as well!

Christian T November 3, 2020 Audiophile - 8 Years Minnesota, United States

As for my first vinyl player I was very hesitant finding the perfect fit for our guys vinyl nights. After calculated research I jumped the gun on RT82 and I have not had any regrets! The sound is superb and far exceeded my expectations. Definitely would recommend Fluance to my friends and family who are looking for quality craftsmanship.

Nathaniel B November 3, 2020 Audiophile - 10 Years Michigan, United States

I've had this turntable for a couple weeks now and so far, I'm impressed. Not only was it easy to set up but it also sounds wonderful. My previous turntable was an entry level Audio Technica, so this was quite a drastic improvement. I immediately noticed more details in my records.

Rob G October 30, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years North Carolina, United States

Impressed with all facets of the purchase with Fluance, speedy ship time, first class packaging of the R-82 turntable, beautiful product overall!

Eric D. October 30, 2020 Audiophile - 12 Years Iowa, United States

Any of the Fluance Reference series TT's are an excellent choice to make for somebody who is just getting into vinyl records, or the seasoned collector on a budget. I chose the RT82 myself and replaced the OM 10 cartridge with a Sumiko Moonstone cartridge. I could have been happy with the OM 10 as I did give it a test run, but already have a few carts that are better performers. If you don't have current cartridges to upgrade to I would suggest buying the RT84 on up to get the Ortofon blue. TT Setup out of the box is very easy(same as it was for my vintage 77' Pioneer PL112-D). The setup video on YouTube is perfect for anyone not familiar with the process. Assembly is a breeze and balancing the tonearm is simple as well. Set the tracking pressure with a digital stylus scale, set the anti- skate to the same tracking pressure and you'll be ready to go.
I chose to pre- order an acrylic platter since the RT85's were out of stock at time of purchase. I love that these TT'S are easily upgradable in phases if what you want is out of stock or you want to slowly upgrade to spread out costs over time. The high gloss walnut finish is a perfect match for my vintage system and is absolutely beautiful! It adds the advantages of a solid wood plinth, a big upgrade in sound quality and build quality without sacrificing the vintage look I love. Thanks for making such an excellent product, and you've gained this 40 yr old budget audiophile as a customer for the rest of my days :)

Mike V October 29, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Just awesome! Tried a cheap plastic AT table that was beyond cheap but not priced that way.... Sent it back and bought the RT82 in Walnut. A real gem in every way! Works well with my old Pioneer receiver and sounds great.

George C October 25, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

This a great bargain for money. The assembly instructions were right on. I have the gloss black finish which looks great. I've owned many turntables, Thorens, Bang and Olufsen, Pioneer, etc., this one sounds just as good if not better and I think comparable to turntables twice or three times the cost..The Ortofon OM10 is a good cartridge and with the "S" shaped tonearm the sound is clear and crisp.. Adjustable feet, auto stop, cue arm lift, RCA cables with ground, quiet belt drive, removable head shell, what more could you want !! You can't go wrong with the Fluance RT 82 .

Con October 24, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Ontario, Canada

Amazing sound quality, no distortions, crackles, or other unwanted noises. Haven’t heard of better sound quality from anything else.

A. W October 21, 2020

When this arrived, I quickly opened the box, because I was excited to try it out.I was very dissapointed in the packaging that was done to keep the turntable safe durring shipping. As my picture shows. It was just a box, inside a much bigger box, with a single piece of packaging paper to keep the box from rumbling around inside the shipping box.The pavkaging designers from fluance did an excellent job though, as did UPS. Nothing was damaged. As for the Turntable, I am very pleased. The first 20 minutes the turntable sounded very quiet, and had little definition in the sound. Then, it quickly improved. Much better sound than the cheapo off brand we had before.I don't think you can find a better turntable for $300.

Paul G October 21, 2020

amazing turntable for beginners.

Very good turntable that you can ugprade later to the RT85. I love the autostop function. Nothing bad to say. I recommend it.

sabrownfl October 14, 2020

Solid, well made unit. Packaged expertly, with clear, well defined setup instructions. I was spinning records less than an hour after I opened the box. Finish on the piano black plinth is outstanding. Great cartridge/stylus. Auto stop works if you don't rush to turn off the player when the record finishes. I liked it so much I bought another for my son.

Jaime m October 10, 2020

The sound quality is amazing. I bought this gift for my husband for his birthday he loves the fact that they came like gloves because it's so shiny. He can stop bragging about it how much he loves her. I would highly recommend for anyone who likes to play records.

Couldn't be happier so far. Easy to set up. Gorgeous to look at. And sounds amazing. This turntable has renewed my love for vinyl and I am hearing my collection with new ears. Money well spent.

Dustin T October 7, 2020

Included with purchase is a pair of white gloves, water level and turntable Matt. One of the best features of this model is the ability to level the record player with it's adjustable feet. Two in the front and one placed in the mid-back, allowing for ultimate goals of music playing.I live in a room which isnt level, and has front leaning furniture when stationary. Something like this is key in my collection. You get what you pay for, and in this case, you get far more important things in this purchase. One of the most incredible and learning experiences you can have when assembling the device.Seriously.

I'm 73 yrs old and have been listening to the same turntable for 45 yrs... and I still like it. I chanced upon a You Tube review for the Fluance "RT" tables and liked their appearance. Now I know the looks of the table doesn't make it the best buy... but it sure got my interest so I started watching and reading the reviews for the RT line. Change is good, at any age (and the wife said I could) so I decided to oeder the RT82. Wisdom comes to those of us that wait and this was a wise move. Placing the order was easy, delivery was quick and set up was a snap. Cued up one of my favorite digital master albums (actually about 3 different albums) for my maiden voyage and I'm here to tell ya.... this is not only a GOOD LOOKING turntable, it's great sounding turntable... love it. Now what'l I do with my old one??? YES... I recommend this product!!

David R. September 30, 2020 Advanced Listener Illinois, United States

I'm 73 yrs old.. My RT82 is replacing a turntable I've enjoyed since I bought it in the early 70's and it still works great, BUT... That wood plyinth caught my eye... THEN I read and listened to the reviews and decided it was time for a change, and an ear pleasing change it was. I Love the RT82 's smooth quiet sound and I may add the acrylic platter at a later date. However, I must admit, the sound flowing from my RT82 is definitely "music to my ears". The Fluance product line provides a quality level beyond their cost. Recommended!!!

Mountain M September 30, 2020

After a decade or so away from vinyl I was gifted an old Techniques turntable, but it was very basic. I started buying used vinyl to fill in many gaps in my collection and to replace long-lost LPs. Soon the limitations of the Techniques led me to buy another turntable, and after extensive research I bought this and have been delighted. It's manual, you can adjust the weight and anti-skating, and the walnut veneer is beautiful. And the sound with the Ortofon is excellent. This really reminds me of my old Acoustic Research manual turntable from the mid-1970s - a simple belt-driven turntable that sounds excellent and has all the controls necessary to protect your vinyl. I love it.

After a couple weeks of researching turntables in the $300-$400 range such as the project, Uturn AT and brands like sony and denon. The Fluance RT82 won. It was a no brainer. You wont find the features or build quality in any other $300 table.

russell September 23, 2020

After a long process of looking at different turntables at this price I decided to purchase the fluance rt82 and wow it hasn't disappointed. It is a stunning turntable in walnut finish. Out of the box it does require a little assembly but the instructions are easy to follow and easy to set up, the tone arm was a bit fiddly but then it's the first time I've had to do this. It also has an auto stop function which many dont and comes with a bubble level to make sure the turntable is level. Once all was set up and connected the sound is incredible, I've had record players throughout my younger years and don't remember them sounding this clear. All in all an awesome turntable that I'm very very pleased with.

Jonah W September 23, 2020

The turntable was packaged very securely and it shows that the company really cares that their products reach you undamaged in order to produce the best results. The setup was really easy, but I suggest watching their video on how to balance the tonearm because the instructions alone aren't crystal clear. It looks aesthetically pleasing, takes up minimal space, and it plays so beautifully. Even with my perfect pitch (which made listening on other players annoying), I can only detect very minimal wow and flutter. With my setup (Schiit Mani pre-amp, Sony SS-C55 speakers, Sherwood receiver), my records sound like live performances. I wouldn't get any other player unless it's from Fluance.

I am thrilled with my Fluance so far. The sleek look, convenient features and amazing sound make for a fantastic turntable. Low price too!

Joel Nooney September 11, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Colorado, United States

Love the new turntable!! Been years since I spun vinyl on my 40+ yr old Marantz 6100 so was excited to upgrade to the Fluance RT-82. Build quality is excellent!

Kyle, S September 11, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Ohio, United States

Very great turntable. Really easy to put together and once put together, it is excellent sounding. Only complaint I have is that it brings out how poor condition some of my records are in, but that’s on me! Tip: Buy Mint/NM/VG+ records only, if you can.

Alfred J September 10, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Outstanding Sound and playback!Great price!

Daniel B September 5, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

I really like the RT-82 , very solid, dead quiet, and looks great! I upgraded from a Technics SL BD22 and I could not be happier.

Don D September 4, 2020 Minnesota, United States

Walnut looks great and the turntable has some weight to it, which is nice. Easy to setup and easy to use. Sounds really good. The price was even cheaper than other stores. Shipping was fast and it's great that it's free!

David S September 4, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Utah, United States

I don't know much about turntables and this is my first turntable, but why you would get another brand in this price range?

The standard features for this model are perfect and the finish is beautiful. I like how the features it has are simple and that it doesn't have other features to complicate or fail. Although I do appreciate that the optical sensor for speed control.

I don't have anything to compare the setup to, but it was fairly easy. The tone arm calibration took me two tries, just because I don't think I understood it the first time. But the second time worked and gave me great results. After moving it to a different location and redoing the tone arm, I got the same great results.

I don't really have anything to compare the sound to other than MP3, CD, FLAC, and a couple of SACD though, but it sounds great and I can listen to some old records that my in-laws have and those sound really good considering how many times my MiL listened to some of them and treated them when she was younger like her Meet Beatles! album from 1964.

But here is the real bonus of of owning a record player: Getting that art work and having something physical to hold in your hands. I didn't realize how much I missed that until getting this. And flipping through albums at the record store again is really fun too (even if I did start on cassette tapes).

I like that they're adding more wood (bamboo) but the walnut I got is really pretty and I don't regret it.

I don't think that I would hear a difference or know what to listen for so I don't plan on any upgrades anytime soon, but the acrylic platter is an eye catcher.

With that, my father-in-law wants to buy a turntable (and get his records back from me) and I have so far talked him into Fluance. His budget is much greater than mine was so we shall see what happens.

I am using a Yamaha R-N803 using Pure Direct Mode as the pre-amp and powering Paradigm Reference Studio 80 v1 speakers, no subwoofer. The RT82 and receiver on on top of an Ikea 2x3 Kallax.

Nico September 3, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Manitoba, Canada

Very happy so far. Its a huge upgrade from my beginner table and was a great price for all of the features it has. I'm looking forward to using this. a My vinyl has never sounded better!

Chris . September 3, 2020 Advanced Listener - 15 Years New Jersey, United States

Talk about a superior product. After setting up the RT-82, I noticed an immediate difference in my records. I’ve been hearing sounds I never heard before. Plus I love that you can upgrade parts depending on your budget. I’ve already upgraded to the cork platter. I’m looking forward to years of enjoyment with the RT-82. Now I just have to wait for the acrylic platter to come back in stock.

Sydney S September 1, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years Virginia, United States

I've been listening on my mom's turntable for a few years, but I decided to invest in my own. After lots of research, I finally settled on the RT82 and couldn't be happier with it! It arrived quickly, the setup was simple, and the sound quality is fantastic.

Victor O September 1, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

First , the sound is great actually better than I expected. The look is fantastic and the feel is great . I have to say that I love everything about this turntable.. I highly recommend it.

David A August 20, 2020 Novice Listener - 2 Years Tennessee, United States

The build quality is exceptional! Silent operation, you cannot hear any motor etc noise from the turn table. Sound quality is beyond what I expected, and I’m super impressed by the upgrade path.

Robert Marlar August 20, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

So far I'm loving the RT82. I haven't got to use it as much as I have wanted but the times I have it's been great. It did not come with a Users Manual or the guide for aligning the cartridge. I did find where I can print it and just used the online and YouTube for any other info I needed. It looks great and works great. Please with purchase.

Russel A August 17, 2020

Haven’t used it yet so I can’t really say but it looks OK

Tyler S August 15, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Virginia, United States

After doing some research and asking for help from friends, I went with the RT82, which was about $150 more than I originally intended to spend, however, I'm really happy I decided to spend the extra money. I was told to avoid the RT81 because it's too similar to AT and to pass on the RT83 because there's not enough difference to warrant the price. All in all, the RT82 is pretty great. Not only does it do everything I need, but it does it well and looks beautiful (I got the black one). The stylus is pretty great, but I might upgrade later. Yes this doesn't come from a preamp, but that's a good thing. If you want a great turntable for beginners who are interested in component setups, then this is for you. If you are a beginner and you want a turnable with preamp, then you can go for one of Fluance's cheaper options (or something like AT, etc.).

eric L August 12, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Only problem is that I had to go out and buy a phone pre amp

Cara B August 12, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years Nevada, United States

I love my RT83 I got it in the dark wood & its beautiful. It comes with cotton gloves for handling which was so nice when putting it together so you dont leave fingerprints all over it. My only issue is that I do not have a Preamp so the sound is very low. I will be ordering the Fluance preamp as soon as its restocked.

Micah H August 11, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Idaho, United States

I wanted something that had modern features but looked classic. I got exactly what I was looking for with this item.

Sharon C. August 10, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Maryland, United States

I received my purchase in a very timely manner. No problems at all. I bought it as a gift for my husband who has a pretty good selection of jazz albums. He has been playing them and they sound really nice. It is some "crackling" when he plays the albums, but he says that makes it sound authentic. I also love the way it sounds. I will be looking to purchase some other albums. But if you can tell me how to reduce the "crackling" sound that would be a big help.

John P August 8, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years North Carolina, United States

Kudos to the Fluance packing engineers. UPS managed to drop another heavy box on top of the Fluance box, breaking through the cardboard and breaking the styrofoam inside. There was no damage to anything. The sound is great. I wish I had purchased this sooner.

Annie, E August 8, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years Virginia, United States

Awesome sound and easy set-up

Clark August 4, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Kansas, United States

Easy Setup, Wonderful Sound. I purchased this as a second record player for my home. I already one a Rega TT and was really just trying to find a table that matched some furniture upstairs. Happy to report that not only does this table look good, its sound is even better.

Alex O August 3, 2020

I am absolutely delighted, clear recommendations. The black one I bought looks luxurious, but you see dust on it, even if it is one speck of dust ... Therefore, walnut is probably more practical. The record starts spinning when the tonearm is positioned over the record. This is also practical. If you change the needle to a very expensive one, then the sound is indistinguishable from high-end equipment. Dear Fluance company - thank you.

Conor R. July 30, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Minnesota, United States

The table sounds great and I love the look. Set-up was easy.

Cole E July 29, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 12 Years Ontario, Canada

This machine was quite the surprise. First of all, the packing material and quality of table itself it's fantastic. Very easy to set-up, even for one like myself who's only ever owned cheap tables from radio shack. Quality of the sound and overall function of the table superceded all expectations. Truly one of the best purchases I've made in a long while, I feel as though this will be the only table I need in the future.

Jake C July 28, 2020 Advanced Listener - 10 Years North Carolina, United States

I could not be happier with this turntable! Sadly, my old turntable broke in the middle of a move, and after countless hours of online research and some conversations at the record store, I landed on the RT82. Sound-wise I have experienced quite the upgrade over my old turntable (Kenwood KD-42RB), and aesthetically the RT-82 blows my old turntable out of the water. I would recommend this turntable to anyone looking to make an upgrade to their sound system!

Dan L July 28, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

I did a lot of research to decide on a replacement for my 40 year old Garrard Zero 100 turntable, and ended up selecting the RT82. It turned out to be a completely different listening experience! While playing one of my classic Dave Brubeck albums I noticed a sound I never heard before. After thinking it was a speaker problem, I finally figured out that it was the breathing sound Paul Desmond made while playing the sax. Amazing depth and realism

Angel July 25, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

The look and details are superb. The smoked cover looks better than the competition. The cueing lever works smoothly. The legs are really nice. Overall it is a nice turntable. But unfortunately my sample had a out of center platter which caused out of spec W/F. Customer service was quick and arranged a return. I am planning on getting the model with the acrylic platter next.

Richard July 22, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years New Jersey, United States

Ziggy G July 21, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Arizona, United States

I bought this as an entry level replacement for my 30 year old turntable. It sounds amazing! Main reason I chose Fluance is the auto stop. I’m always busy and can’t get back to stop a record when it ends.

After inheriting a late 70's Pioneer PL200, which is a good turntable,
I decided to upgrade to the RT82 after reading many positive reviews - not disappointed in the least - love the Ortofon OM10
and its stellar tracking ability - probably going to upgrade with an OM20 stylus and an acrylic platter sometime soon

Oscar July 14, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Florida, United States

I am very happy with my RT82, from the first moment I put my records you can see the quality of what you receive at an extraordinary price. Also the possibility of updating the plate or cartridge, make it an excellent choice.
For many beginners the fact that it doesn't have a preamp is a problem, because that was also the reason why I chose the reference series. To have total freedom to choose in the future what I want to upgrade.
This makes the purchase of a product that over time remains valid. The sound is great. The auto stop function it’s very useful
I love it.

Michael D. July 14, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Ohio, United States

Wow. Mine came today. About 3 albums ago. I am amazed how much better this sou is than my 40 year old Kenwood KD3100 (Ortofon cartridge and new iso feet). Just miles past that old chunk of junk. I am truly amazed with the RT82. Jaw on the floor amazed. Just. Wow.

Lourdes B July 14, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years North Carolina, United States

Impulsively upgraded my Audio Technica LP60 and I could not be happier. What a difference. The sound quality improvement cannot be mistaken. Gorgeous and heavy duty turntable as well, and there's something very satisfying about manually controlling it.

First turntable I have purchased. The black looks very sleek and all of the components seem to be of very high build quality. I ordered a static brush for the vinyls as I am getting a lot of popping noises from that.

Christian K July 12, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 8 Years New York, United States

My first turntable was an Audio Technica LP60, which I bought years ago to decide whether vinyl was really for me. (It was.) When the AT finally gave up the ghost, I went looking for a replacement that would be a noticeable step up sonically without totally breaking the bank. Settled on the RT82 after reading a bunch of reviews of TTs in its price bracket.

I adore it. Sounds wonderful, with punchier bass, more clarity, and better stereo spread than the AT. I get that lovely experience of hearing all my favorite records "for the first time" again. The aesthetics are great too. Maybe this is pretentious but it looks and feels like a "serious" turntable. Something worth displaying in your setup.

If I have any "complaints," it's that this TT rewarded such careful listening that I noticed some problems with my preamp and AC power. But I can't really hold that against Fluance. Ah, the joys of vinyl.

I went a bought a turntable for about $80 or so at Best Buy. Talk about wow and flutter! So I decided to spring for a good one, bought a Fluance RT 82 and hoped for the best. It was well worth it and I can't stop smiling except for the fact I'm buying even more vinyl now!!

Yannick W July 6, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 6 Years Quebec, Canada

Very nice turntable for the price. Sounds awesome and it is so quiet.
Easy to set up and use.
The only downside is that the dust cover is on a cheap side.

Justin C July 5, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year New Jersey, United States

I have been in search of a high quality turntable to play my Dad's record collection for some time. After agonizing over options for months I finally settled on the RT82, and I'm glad i did. It was packaged well and came with everything you'd need to set up and start playing records. The sound was crisp and accurate. I didn't experience any skipping as I had with cheaper turntables. The turntable also has become a centerpiece to my living room and has very attractive styling -- I chose piano black. The ability to upgrade components in the future is a plus, but at this point doesn't seem necessary -- I am more than satisfied with this turntable as is.

Looking for a new analog turntable, and found the RT-82...great turntable- easy set up, and sounds great. Replaced my decades old Technics with this- moderately priced, and looks very nice. Received shipment with minor damage to the dust cover- contacted the company, and was sent a replacement right away. Very satisfied with product and service.

I love it! The sound is incredible and I love the style. I wish I would have went for the rt85 but I'll upgrade the platter and stylus eventually. I did hours of research before finally deciding on going with Fluance. The reviews are all correct, this is an amazing turntable!

Gene H June 19, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years North Carolina, United States

I'm getting back into vinyl after 15 years away, having grown up with LPs and using good turntables. I'm building a new system and was delighted to find the RT82. It's definitely the best deal at this price range. Being able to control tonearm weight and anti-skating is rare at this price point, not to mention that it comes with an excellent Ortofon cartridge. A bonus is that the wood version is truly beautiful. I'm very pleased.

Sean J June 18, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 15 Years Washington, United States

This is a gorgeous, fantastic-sounding turntable! The RT82 a huge upgrade from the one I was using previously, but no surprise there. It has inspired me to quickly expand my modest record collection, as I can now truly experience my favorite albums. Setup was simple, although I was nervous when the platter did not spin at first. Resetting the belt fixed this issue and it has been working perfectly ever since. I now look forward to upgrading the platter and cartridge in the future. Thanks Fluance!

Product shipped and arrived much swifter than I expected. Visually, the turn table is impeccable. I love the piano black finish. The instructions were easy to follow and I had it up and running quickly. Also I was impressed that the pre-installed cartridge was perfectly aligned. Overall the sound quality is awesome and I am completely satisfied with the product and if I had to make the choice again, I wouldnt hesitate to purchase a Fluance product!

Very happy with my RT82, huge upgrade over my old Sony Turntable, much more accurate when i tested it with the RPM app. The autostop seems to work well and it pairs well with my Rolls VP29 with almost no background noise. Good overall table with lots of upgrade options down the line.

George June 14, 2020

I didn't plane it this way, bought the denon X3500h from Amazon based on bang for the buck was looking for good sound quality and home theater at the same time since I mostly watch movies, and some Martinlogan 35xt matching center channel and dynamo 500 sub. Spent many hours trying to get hd/ hi res audio to sound good but just wasn't sounding as good as my old teac 501 dac and beyerdynamic t90 headphones sound. Then i noticed the Denon had phone input and decided to get the rt82. Blown away at how good new records sound, can't stop buying them. Who new the Denon phone amp and the rt82 would sound this good? Who new I loved Jazz try Grant Green.. Nice!

Trevor D June 13, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Maryland, United States

Had been using an old Garrard GT15 with age related performance issues but I love it like an old friend. Researched new turntables for quite some time. Finally went ahead and got the RT82, should have done it sooner. It has renewed my enthusiasm for my vinyl collection. It looks beautiful (including white gloves to aid in setup was a nice touch) and sounds great. I have it hooked up to my old Harmon Larson 330c receiver. Very warm sound. Like the music is hugging me. In my opinion this quality could easily cost a couple hundred dollars more. Also it was packaged very well, very secure during shipping. Now for new speakers...

Paul B June 11, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Florida, United States

Fit and finish was perfect- Piano Black leaves no room for flaws.
Packaging was well done to protect the turn-table.

This is an amazing turntable. A huge step up from my Audio Technica LP60. A gorgeous and heavy table that looks and feels like quality. The OM10 cartridge sounds excellent. This table is also a great investment since it's easily upgradable to a red or blue Ortofon cartridge. This will be by go to table for years to come. Exceptional value.

Matthew H June 5, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years West Virginia, United States

I did a lot of reading and comparison shopping for a new turntable, and the Fluance Reference line won by a longshot. The best features in its price range, I decided on the RT-82 with walnut finish and ordered the acrylic platter as well (so I essentially ended up with the RT-85 but with the Ortofon cartridge).
First impression, this turntable has style. Solid build, every piece of it feels substantial and high quality.
I am very happy with this turntable. The sound quality is miles beyond my old entry level player, and it has already proven to be worth every penny of its price.
After reviewing at least 6 other players in the under-$500 category, Fluance has the best features and best upgrade potential of any other player in its class.
I'm going to say that if this turntable was built in USA, but exactly the same quality, it would probably retail at $800. It is that nice.
If you are considering a Fluance, and are comparing to the "other 3" that always come up in discussion of the sub-$500 category, just do yourself a favor and get the Fluance. It has been nothing short of a pleasure to have.

Dylan d June 5, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year New York, United States

Beautiful and sleek turnable, no problems with it whatsoever. Easy to put together as well.

For the money I think this is a great sounding turntable.

Love the fact that 82 can basically be upgraded over time to make it an 85. But for now it's great.

I love the auto stop feature and the fact that the cue lever is included. Unlike some tables in the same price range.

I have no regrets about this one.

I did a lot of research before deciding on the RT82, and it's blown me away. I do suggest getting a preamp with volume control -- I'm using the Schitt SYS -- since the preamp it comes with is just a flat boost. Otherwise, it's an incredible system.

Jonathan S May 30, 2020 Novice Listener - 1 Year Nevada, United States

I love the turntable! It was pretty easy to set up. Looks great and most importantly has superb sound quality. I bought it because of the ability to upgrade components in the future. Definitely recommend to folks wanting to invest in their first turntable.

Setup was easy, and my record collection sounds gorgeous now! I would highly recommend the RT82, the improvement in sound (especially bass) compared to my old turntable is pronounced. This feels like a real instrument, and it looks great as a centerpiece fixture in my living room.

Jeff, R May 28, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years Ontario, Canada

Absolutely amazed, sounds incredible

Tony B May 28, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years California, United States

This is a remarkable table. I have five others—ranging in price up to $2,500–and this holds its own or surpasses any of them. The quality of build, design, and, most important, sound, suggest a table six or seven times its cost. Only the slight flimsiness of the Motor Pulley Cap is of a lesser quality. Otherwise, this turntable is extraordinary.

Kirun C May 27, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

The RT-82 looks and sounds as though it costs a lot more. It is well-built and attractive. I replaced the Om-10 cartridge that came with the turntable with a much more expensive one. So I can't evaluate this turntable combination. But with with the upgraded cartridge, it sounds much better than a more expensive turntable I owned previously. The only complaint I have is that you cannot level the turntable using all three feet. Only one of them is adjustable.

Beautiful product. Everything that comes with the turn table is of fantastic quality. Couldn't be happier.

Timothy C May 23, 2020

Just received the RT-82 and I feel like a kid in a candy store. When cd's hit the market in the 80's I moved away from my LP's, but with the renewed interest in LP's and turntables the last few years I have been considering jumping back in. I didn't want to go cheap, but on the other hand the Pro-ject and Rega models i was considering were at the top end of what I wanted to spend, but they are totally manual, and I wanted auto-return. I came across some reviews of Fluance and suddenly I realized that I had found what I've been looking for. The RT 82-85 are all the same base turntable, but as you move up you get better cartridges and a heavier platter, but I went for the 82 for only, $300, knowing I can upgrade in the future. It's solid and heavy...I didn't want a light, plastic tt, and I had heard the pro-ject was lightweight. It took 30 minutes to set-up...pay close attention to the instructions for balancing the tone arm...but when I lowered the stylus onto the record it played perfectly the first time. And, though it doesn't have full auto return, the platter stops turning at the end of the record, so I don't have to worry about it continuing if I had something take me away. And although the sound is first rate, I wanted something aesthetically pleasing, and this is a beautiful, minimalist design. The piano black finish is gorgeous, and it perfectly matches my Peachtree amp. Bravo Fluance for a brilliant design!

The table sounds great, looks beautiful, and was everything I expected. Best deal for the money in this price point. Thanks!

I purchased the RT82 as my first turntable... sounds great through my 25 year old Denon receiver... love the fact that the RT82 allows me to upgrade its parts the deeper I get into vinyl......

Jason Paterson May 21, 2020 Advanced Listener - 17 Years Alberta, Canada

All my research paid off. This unit does my vinyl justice. Easy to set up and the audio is great.

Bradley B. May 21, 2020 Advanced Listener Pennsylvania, United States

I honestly don’t think you can find a better turntable for anything close to this price. The RT-82’s servo controlled motor, the heavy weight plinth, adjustable soft rubber spike feet, and an Ortofon OM-10 cartridge give you a real audiophile quality experience at a mass market price. Not to mention the walnut veneer and thick gloss coat is absolutely gorgeous. They give you white gloves in the box to handle it! Seriously I couldn’t be happier.

Scott, W May 19, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years Virginia, United States

I love this turntable. I was previously using an AT LP60, but after learning more about vinyl, decided that it was time to upgrade to a better table with more upgrade options and better quality. I spent about 24 hours total researching different turntable options in the $200-$300 range and eventually decided on the RT82 because of its high built quality, beautiful walnut plinth, and rubber mat, adjustable and easily up gradable components. I really like how easy it is down the line for me to upgrade the various parts to keep my listening experience fresh. The order process was very easy and it shipped incredibly fast. The packaging was very good and the setup was very easy and easy to follow thanks to fluance's instructions and videos. With my new setup, I'm hearing details on my records that I never heard before. The table looks great in my apartment and very sleek! The table and all of its parts are very sturdy and appear to be of high quality. I would recommend checking and aligning the cartridge when setting up the table though, mine was slightly off out of the box to be noticeable on the inner grooves, but completely understandable given the shipping and packaging process. Overall, I am very pleased with this table and would highly recommend it!

I had been planning on upgrading my previous turntable for several months. I had been looking for something in the $100-$300 range and came across a CNET review of the best turntables under $300. The RT82 was their top pick. I continued researching and everything pointed to a Fluance turntable. I went with the RT82 and don't regret it one bit. It's a beautiful sounding - and looking - set-up. Definitely loving it so far and will look at Fluance products again if I decide to upgrade in the future.

Liam S May 19, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 3 Years Georgia, United States

Great turntable, quick and secure shipping. The RT-82 is a good choice to get everything important without overspending.

I upgraded to this from an entry level turn table and the difference is night and day! Crystal clear and sounds fantastic!

Ramzy D May 16, 2020 Intermediate Listener Illinois, United States

I am so happy with my turntable. It’s my first high quality turntable, and the difference is amazing! One of the best purchases I ever made. I was a little perturbed at first at having to spend a bunch of money on some other equipment to deal with bad wiring, but in the end, it was all worth it. Records sound clean, clear and lively like I’ve never heard them before!

j_fritz123 May 14, 2020

If you are looking to upgrade from a cheap, full auto turntable or are looking to dip your toes into the hifi hobby, this is the one to get. It is a basic no nonsense turntable that plays records and plays them well. When comparing this to the U-Turn Orbit this one is the clear winner. It has a better tone arm, a better cartridge, replaceable headshlell and in my opinion just looks better. I prefer the retro vibe of this thing to the more contemporary design of the U-Turn orbit. The only reason I could see getting the U-Turn over this is the fact that they are mostly hand built by mostly American parts in America. If that is your thing then go for the U-Turn but otherwise this Fluance is clearly the better value.

guitarplayr May 14, 2020

Great sounding record player! Easy to set up. I had to watch a YouTube video about arm and counter weight setup. Great value for the price. Glad I made the purchase. This, and some fluance speakers and a preamp and your set!

Hugo K May 13, 2020

Purchased "Used - As New" condition, seller was Fluance - the manufacturer. As far as I could tell the only indication that it was used was an external marking on the shipping box, "RT82XOP". It was truly "as new" with a substantial discount in price.Easy to set up once I figured out the gram scale on the counterweight just spins but doesn't move towards the front or away; you get the tonearm balanced twisting the bulk of the counterweight, spin the number to zero on the gram scale then spin the counterweight to set tracking force (not the spinning scale ). When all else fails, RT*M. ; -)This replaces an ancient Thorens TD150 Mk II w/ an AudioTechnica tonearm that was extremely noisy. I have not used the supplied Ortofon OM10 cartridge yet but rather immediately installed a Supex MM100 w/ an SMM-38E stylus already mounted in an extremely lightweight Sumiko headshell. The remainder of the setup was a piece of cake. Took about ten minutes unboxing/unwrapping, then about 15 minutes more getting it leveled, connected to the amp, and rechecked. The amp it is connected to is a Yamaha AX-592 with built-in switchable phono pre-amp (Moving Magnet/Moving Coil) so I did not need an add-on phono pre-amp.The aluminum platter is not very heavy - I will purchase the acrylic platter separately soon. Right out the box I played the Gary Burton & Chick Corea LP, "Crystal Silence" (ECM 1024 ST). Gary Burton's vibes are a good test of wow and flutter and I was pleased. Suspect the heavier acrylic platter will be even better. Tracks well - no skips on some LPs that are well over 50 years old.It was a pain playing LPs on the old noisy turntable - now I have to decide which of the several hundred LPs get promoted from the basement to the den.

The turntable is beautiful. I bought the RT-82 and the build quality is great. The Customer Service I received from Charles was outstanding! Even though the Ortofon OM-10 that came pre aligned with the turntable sounds amazing, I like the fact that I'm able to easily switch cartridges, highly recommended if you're looking for an entry level turntable that doesn't look or perform like an entry level turntable...I love it!

Bob S May 11, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

Best turntable that I have owned and easy to upgrade. Best wow and flutter of similar units.

Ryan C. May 8, 2020 Intermediate Listener North Carolina, United States

Very pleased with my purchase. The RT82 offers the critical components for top-notch sound quality out-of-the-gate without breaking the bank. Plus, easy cartridge and platter upgrades are available down the line. Sound quality and fit and finish are impeccable. Paired with new Klipsch R-41M bookshelves and I feel like I'm listening to my record collection for the first time! It's not advertised heavily in the specs but the servo controlled motor was a selling point for me over the RT80 and 81. This thing is incredibly speed stable, I haven't heard a single variation. The cue arm is also a great tool for preserving the Ortofon 10M cartridge which sounds amazing to my ears. Happy listening!

Bill L May 8, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Colorado, United States

Great turntable!
The setup was correct out of the box. I did not have to adjust the cartridge overhang at all.
The Ortophon OM-10 needs about 20 hours of sound it's best, so you need to give it time, play some records.

Russell P. May 8, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Hawaii, United States

Upon hours and hours of research, I concluded that the RT82 is the best value turntable for $300. It has everything I was looking for in an entry level TT. Great cartridge, great build quality, and great sound. You won't be disappointed!

Shamus R May 7, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Washington, United States

I had been looking to upgrade my turntable for several months and did a lot of research on and reading about what's out there. Everything kept leading me back to the Fluance Reference series turntables. I purchased the RT82 and haven't been disappointed. It certainly exceeded my expectations. If I look to upgrade again in the future, I'll definitely be looking at Fluance products again.

Kevin R May 6, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years New York, United States

RT82 - my 1st new turntable in 40 years and it is fantastic. I have acquired many TT over the years, have 4 units in my home now. But this RT82 is the best playing unit I won. It has made my 40-50 year old vinyl collection come alive. Best purchase in audio equipment I've made in many years. Highly recommend the investment.

After years of AIO's and cheap plasticy tables, we decided to finally go a purchase a quality table. After all our research, the RT82 was the right mix of budget, premium features, while still being ready to upgrade to a RT-85 level! Vinyl sounding better than ever!

I highly recommend Fluance!

The Fluance rt82 is such a wonderful turntable. It’s built super sturdy and the sounds that come from the Ortofon cartridge is awesome. I bought it with the idea of changing the cart but it sounds so wonderful I’m keeping it on. The whole thing is put together so wonderful it’s definitely the best turntable for a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend it.

Brian M April 22, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 14 Years Indiana, United States

I am really enjoying my new turntable. Sounds great paired with my equipment. Easy to set-up and was packaged well for shipping. I did have an issue with the rubber platter mat being deformed. Fluance replaced it promptly after I contacted them of the issue.

Justin M April 21, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 6 Years California, United States

The RT82 is the second turntable I've owned. I've been living with the AT LP60 for about 6 years, and I realized that I wasn't enjoying vinyl as much as I used to. The needle on my old turntable started skating, and I didn't want to shell out the cash to replace it without upgrading. To be honest, I just started streaming instead.
The Fluance RT82 allowed me to commit to a new turntable at an amazing price. Plus I have the choice to upgrade to a better cartridge later (the cartridge being, I think, what sets it apart from the 83 to 85). That was a huge factor for me when initially considering this guy.
This thing is a beautiful, simple machine coming out of the box. Set up was quick and easy. Don't be afraid of getting stuck anywhere along the way, as their website provides video help to supplement the owner's manual.
I don't consider myself an audiophile, but this thing sounds amazing! I'm currently running this turntable to a Cambridge Audio Solo then to a Yamaha receiver. There is a HUGE difference in sound quality between this and my old LP60. My records have such a fuller sound. I can't stop spinnin!
I definitely recommend the RT82. Even if you're looking for your first turntable, consider this one. I imagine it will last years with the possibility of upgrading your sound via a new cartridge.

b1gtym1n April 21, 2020

Ultimately went with this turntable after researching tons in this price range and slightly cheaper. I am happy that I chose this one and it sounds and looks great. I was thinking of getting the RT81, but after reading reviews and researching the styluses, I decided on the RT82 since I listen to a lot of jazz fusion music. I upgraded to the Fluance acrylic platter and have it paired with a Schiit Mani (piano black, black mani, and walnut Kanto YU6). When I wear out or get tired of the OM10, I can get the 2M blue and basically have a RT85 with a spare cart and stylus (or get OM20 for existing cart) and not have paid a crazy amount more. Definitely would get this model over others in the price range and would consider spending more over the RT80 and 81 if you plan on building a system around it or want to future proof against having to get a completely new turntable to upgrade.

I’ve wanted a turntable for a longtime. I wanted to buy one that would last and I wouldn’t feel the need to upgrade from after a year or so. I researched the heck out of turntables and all signs kept being me to the Fluance RT82 as being the perfect turntable in my budget. It was so easy to setup and performs awesome!

I received my RT82 about two weeks ago and am loving it! Am new to the world of vinyl (or at least, haven't really listened to records since childhood). My buddy gave me a suitcase turntable and it got me hooked and I decided to upgrade.

A few months ago, I bought a vintage Pioneer SX-737 receiver and wanted a quality turnable to match. Look no further than the Fluance RT82 with a walnut finish. I am very much a rookie, but Fluance made the setup of this player a breeze and it feels right at home next to my classic receiver. Sounds great, no complaints. With the exception of possible upgrades in the future, such as platter and cartridge (but sounds dynamite as is!), I plan for this to be my turntable for years and years to come.

There are a lot of quality turntables out there in this range, and this is absolutely one of them. Plus, it offers me enough features to make it easy for a novice like me, but not too many to where it feels like I'm disconnected from the "analog experience". This hits a real sweet spot, in my opinion. Plus, there is an upgrade path if I so choose!

Thank you for a quality product, both inside and out!

Jamie858 March 14, 2020

The Fluance turntable (RT82) I received is a great addition to my music room. This replaced an old Technics turntable from the early 80s. The sound is great and the updated cartridge sounds great. It can't make my old poor vinyl sound too good, but it makes my quality vinyl sound great. I added a cork mat for the platter for better sound too. It tracks well and the speed was set right right out of the box. It has great solid rubber feet that are adjustable to level the turntable. It even came with a level to make sure it's flat, nice! Definitely hi-fidelity play here. I paired it with a quality phono preamp because my receiver did not have one built in. Don't go cheap on a phono preamp or the sound will suffer. I'm very happy overall.

First, THANK YOU to the many audophiles who have posted to this forum. Your comments were of great assistance to me! I've been around the HiFi block and back. I'll turn 70 this year. I started my love of audio back in 1960. You would all recognize most of the brands i have owned from some lowly Duals to quite exotic fare. I have had banks of amplifiers cooled with fans and even dry ice at party times to keep the heat sinks of 1000w amplifiers cooled. At times my parent's basement resembled an audio store. I have even had pvc raceways built into houses I have had built to allow for stereo wiring to be run whole house. It has been great fun. Some of my favourites have been Acoustic Research and Dynaco. i loved the simplicity. Later on i got into the exotics. I have returned full circle in my journey. I have come to the opinion that the less "gadgetry" there is in a system the purer the sound and the less to go wrong - of course, to a point. So, to the point. After a lot of reading i chose the Fluance RT82. I did this for one main reason. I wanted a belt drive BUT one whose servo motor was reference controlled for wow & flutter. the Ortofon cartridge that came with it is very nice but I telephoned Fluance parts department to purchase three more tone arm head shells (Brent made the ordering process a breeze - another sign of a well-managed company) I bought extra head shells as I also have a beautiful B&O cartridge, an AKG P8E and a Stanton L837S (a stereohedron). All will work with the Fluance tone arm height. I am happy that the tone arm height is not adjustable - have had many that were and they were often more trouble than they were worth. from the Fluance web site you can down load a tone arm adjustment chart. I happen to have tone arm gauges and digital and physical tone arm mass measuring devices. Using the Fluance provided set-up guide made the task a breeze. All done within 15 minutes. Fluance was out of stock regarding their in-house pre-amp so I chose (wise advice from many of you a DJ PRE ll to use with my home theater system. My other systems amps have quality pre-amps built-in so I can swap the turn tables (I have 3) around. The DJ PRE ll is awesome and works like a prince with the Fluance (as I am sure their house brand would) I love the adjustable gain and solid ground post. Of course, I was careful to separate 100v wiring from grounds and RCA lines. The result: absolutely no hum or static of any kind. Used my own stroboscope and the speed of the platter exceeded even Fluance's specifications - awesome! Taking HZ readings the range of the ortofon exceeded what i could hear and proved to me that Fluance's set-up beautifully translates the cartridge outputs. The tone arm balanced beautifully at exactly the specifications Ortofon recommended. the sound was spectacular. I appreciated the 'action" of the tone arm lift and the auto shut-off at the end of the album. I do not like auto return arms for too many reasons to list here and would not purchase a reference table with one (personal opinion I know). The fit and finish was spectacular and better than many turntables costing three times as much. As I have a number of awesome cartridges there was no point in me up-grading just for a cartridge as, except for an acrylic platter (which I do not like) the Fluance tables are the same above the R82. I am lucky and have the means to spend thousands on a turntable if I wanted to. I chose Fluance for excellence of sound transmission, no noise transmission, reference quality with no silly frills and only the options (IMO) that a reference table should have. Again, thank you to the many who have posted their opinions. LOVE this reference table.

James R March 6, 2020 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years North Carolina, United States

I had a starter record player before this so my listening experience has improved tremendously. The sound is richer, has more bass, and displays far less flaws in the vinyl. I usually go with black when it comes to electronics but chose the walnut and am not disappointed. Very sharp appearance. The build quality is exceptional and I’m very happy with purchase.

Rossaround March 4, 2020

Works perfectly and sounds great.

Beautiful record player. The sound is amazing. It is difficult to balance arm properly but eventually got it. Was worth every penny

Mike R February 17, 2020

I did a lot or research on turntables, this is everything I was looking for. Quality materials and very well built.

Velvet February 5, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years California, United States

This is a beautiful turntable. Great design and outstanding sound. Will be happily spinning records for many years to come. I researched a ton of turntables before purchasing the RT82 and I'm very happy with it.

Dennis January 26, 2020

First of all I'll start by saying. I can't fault a thing about this turntable, but marketing I think missed the boat. Everything works perfectly, and no question in my mind about the claimed specs. This thing is rock solid, and keeps time like a pulsar. Don't be shocked when it exceeds the recording standards on some older and lower quality pressings. I researched turntables for months before I bought this. In this price point it's the closest I found to a no compromise table. I only have one gripe about this. It's not just the Fluance line, it's most all of them. That marketing thing. I ended up buying this table because I picked up a Grado cartridge for my other table. The direct drive I have been happy with for years. If you have not heard the rumor that Grados hum on direct drive tables. I'm here to tell you they can. You would just start to notice it near the end of the last track. That's not gong to work for me. Out side of that, I love this cartridge, but I was going to need a belt drive. Now the truth be told, the Mll Red, and Blue are two of the cartridges I passed on before I got the Grado. So I picked up the RT 82 because I had my own cartridge I wanted to use. I had no want, or plan to use any they offered with this or, the 83, and 84. That's my gripe. Why doesn't Fluance (and some others) offer their tables with out cartridges? I know there are a bunch of us that have carts, and manufactures that we know, and use for our own reasons. I really do like this table a lot, but just kinda feel like I'm having a cartridge forced on me I really didn't want. But in the end, the Fulance, and Grado are an epic combination! To be fair, I only used the OM 10 it came with for about 10 minutes. Just to make sure everything worked. It sounded like a new cartridge that needs to be broke in. So I have no input as to how this table sounds with the Ortofon.

For my first turntable, I wanted to go with something not terribly expensive but still respectable. After some research, it was clear that the RT82 was a clear first choice. Having used it regularly for the past couple weeks since receiving it, I've been nothing but satisfied with its sleek design, sturdy feel, and excellent quality. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a superb, reasonably-priced turntable for any budding audiophile or music-lover.

David D January 22, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

Looks fantastic and so far am very pleased with its operation. The OM-10 is quite adequate but will upgrade at some point. I am not hearing any issues with speed fluctuations and the cueing is very smooth.

Very happy with this product, packaging was great and nothing was damaged. I had a little difficulty putting it together but got it eventually, would rather have that then something damaged during shipping. -1 star due to not including the bubble level in my package, or at least I couldn’t find it in the packaging. Overall a great buying and listening experience.

James O. January 14, 2020 Audiophile - 20+ Years Kansas, United States

The Fluance reference series turntables are well built and the overall audio specifications are unrivalled at this price point. Just bear in mind these are manual turntables and will require your attention at the end of playing a vinyl. If you're looking for even higher audio specs perhaps replace the cartridge with a Grado. Otherwise this turntable as is paired with the ortofon cartridge is an exelent combination and worthy of your attention.

Bradley W. January 13, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

I couldn't be more happy with the Finance RT82 I purchased. It was very easy to setup. I upgraded from a 1258 Dual, which I thought was a nice turntable, the Fluance blew it away!!!! It's so quiet. It's an incredible TT. I compared & shopped for 3 months before I pulled the trigger on it... I wish I had just grabbed it immediately! If your looking STOP! But a Fluance!!!!!

mmichael January 12, 2020

I spent way too much time researching a replacement for a 15 year old Stanton direct drive that honestly didn't sound terrible. I just developed a brief obsession and relentlessly poured through reviews and audiophile forums, bouncing from vintage Denon, Kenwood, Pioneer and Dual to new models from Audio Technica, U-Turn, Fluance, Rega and Pro-Ject. The vintage tables felt like the natural choice, but they either needed too much love or they had been restored and were priced a bit beyond what I wanted to spend. I decided to focus on new tables and lower my budget to $300. The Rega Planar 1 and Pro-Ject Debut were then eliminated. Both seemed like decent options, although they weren't without flaw and if I'm buying a Rega I want to go all in, glass platter and everything. Audio Technica couldn't match what U-Turn and Fluance offer for $300 in terms of platter, cartridge, motor and aesthetics. The final decision came down to the Fluance RT82 and U-Turn Orbit Plus. If you're looking for a new turntable around $300 these should be the only two that you're considering. With the Orbit you can have an acrylic platter and an Ortofon 0M5E cartridge. They're assembled in the US by a small company and I appreciate that. Fluance RT82 comes with a slightly better cartridge and an arguably worse aluminum platter. Where it surpasses the Orbit, in my opinion, is in the cue lever, auto stop, S-shaped tone arm, removable headshell (easier to change cartridges), 33/45 rpm knob and lower wow/flutter %. I have had it for around a week and have probably listened to about 40 hours of music. At first I wasn't thoroughly impressed and I read there might be a break-in period for the stylus. It sounds amazing now and I am completely happy with my purchase.

Alan J January 5, 2020

I chose this turntable to replace a failing Technics model from the 70s, and am quite happy with the purchase. My only complaint would be that the cueing arm is a bit jumpy, and thus requires a slow hand to keep the needle position in place.

Christopher January 5, 2020 Advanced Listener - 15 Years Tennessee, United States

My very first turntable for my system and I must say is awesome! I love build quality and most importantly the sound of it. The cartridge sounds really nice with nice wide sound stage and great center image

Tim January 4, 2020

I can not say enough how happy I am with the purchase of this turntable. Out of the box and in about 15 minutes we were listening to our albums. They sound fantastic. I purchased the RT82. If you purchase this model make sure you have Phono port on our stereo. I did not realize they stopped putting these on Stereos. I had to have add a Preamp. I purchased the ART DJPREII Phono Preamplifier and the sound is great.Originally I had a different preamp and the bass was not very good. However when I switched to the DJPREII the Bass was perfect. I also got the Piano Black and my daughter got the Walnut. both look great but really like the black!

Kimberly Spader Lamm January 3, 2020 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years North Carolina, United States

It was beautiful and clearly high quality, unfortunately it was not the right one, I ordered the wood finish and we received the black one. I cannot get anyone on the phone to discuss an exchange, I sent in a request for an exchange and received shipping details, which did not indicate an exchange and I had to pay my own shipping to send it back. $25. I sure hope they post this review so I get the $25 off my my next order so that when I get my refund I can order the wood finish version and finally get to write a review on how it actually sounds.

Love, love, love this turntable. I have a vintage tt, and I thought it was great, but this thing is amazing. Highly recommended. I'm not an audiophile, just a music fan, but this thing rocks.

I've been eyeing Fluance turntables for a while and finally took the plunge. The RT82 sounds amazing and looks great too!

Setup was more in depth than I imagined, but was dead simple.

I love it!

James A January 1, 2020

This is a nice turntable that delivers great sound and was easy to put together.

David L December 18, 2019 Novice Listener - 5 Years Michigan, United States

I've only played a few records so far, but what I've heard so far is great, beautiful sound. Unfortunately I received a damage RT 82 turntable--the plinth was badly cracked. I can't blame that on Fluance, the fault probably lies with UPS. Fluance's customer service has been solid so far. They are replacing the damaged deck. I look forward to the replacement.

Bill M December 14, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

I had seen this in the walnut wood grain base, but got the piano black glossy and it is stunning. I have gone up the ladder, from RT80 to RT81 to now the RT82 with the belt visible outside the platter just a freakishly nice design. Like a show piece at an art show, unbeatable for the money!

Glen B. November 26, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

So very happy! I was unsure whether my 50 year old vinyl would sound okay. It's better than okay, Long John Baldry never sounded this good before! This is a solid turntable with great customer service. Glad I went with Fluance.

Bert M. H. November 22, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Arkansas, United States

Love the looks of it the piano black is fantastic. It was well packaged and the white gloves that came with it added a touch of class. But the best thing is the way that it preformed. Records that looped before played right through. Can’t wait to up grade the platter! It’s going to look great with black

Thomas M November 12, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Oregon, United States

This was a huge step up from the cheaper consumer turntable I had before, and I couldn't be happier. Came well packaged with good instructions. It looks as nice as it does in the pictures, and for me was a really good balance between price and performance, with a few key features (tone arm lever, auto stop, auto speed control) over a 100% manual table, without getting bloated or complex. I also picked up Fluance's pre amp and seems to work great. Would buy again for sure.

Francis Lavoie November 11, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Quebec, Canada

Great turtable. Paired with the Fluance pre-amppli this is an amazing duo . And an astonihing vintage look. !!!!

After wanting to get into the hobby for a long time I was finally given permission... lol. I had a very nice existing audio system at home and didn’t want to just use any turntable. I’m quite particular so I wanted a system that was very good but didn’t want to break the bank. I came across Fluance via YouTube and checked it out. What sold me was the ability to upgrade the table as I go. I got the RT82 because it didn’t have a preamp (which I already have a nice one) a solid cartridge to start with the ease of updating to Red, then Blue, then... So I figured once I’ve upgraded cartridge after my current one needs replacing and maybe then the platter I’ll have a system that’ll satisfy the audiophile in me. All that being said the stock RT82 is great! So no real hurry to upgrade anything as the sound of everything is fantastic as is. The setup was simple and the resources available via their website and manual had me confident that once setup everything would be as it should. The final thing I would have to say is the value I got from the system. In my price category this system was the best value for the money for sure. A real positive experience as I enter into the world of vinyl.

First shipment was damaged by carrier. Fluance quickly handled the issue and I received my replacement within a week after returning damaged turntable. Replacement was perfect. Love the walnut finish, and the overall performance of the turntable. I especially like the automatic off. I have been playing my vinyls from three generations. Sound great, and better than ever as to enjoyment. Plan to buy a few new ones. Julie made the whole process smooth and professional. Listening to James Gang on the RT82 while writing this.

Nick B October 15, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 15 Years Nevada, United States

I received a turntable damaged in shipping. Sean worked with me on getting a replacement quickly. New turntable sounds and looks great. Researched dozens of different tables and I'm happy I went with this one.

Chris B. October 4, 2019 Advanced Listener - 3 Years Connecticut, United States

All I can say is WOW! It's beautiful. This piece of equipment does not present itself as a $300 turntable. It looks and feels like something much nicer. Comparing it directly with my Pro-Ject DC, since it's relatively in the same category, I can say unequivocally that the build quality on this thing is much nicer. Significantly nicer, actually. Not to say the Pro-Ject isn't nice, because of course it is. It's hard to do an A/B on sound since they are on different setups, and my DC has a 2M Blue and an acrylic platter and is on better equipment all-around, but this Fluance table presents itself stunningly.
My issue with the U-Turns and lower end Pro-Jects (Elemental or T1) is that they don't come with real counterweights. They're setup specifically for the cart that it comes with but if you ever want to upgrade it'll be a real pain on the ass the get the tracking force correct.

The RT-82 came with the Super OM10 cart, and it's playing beautifully. I'm sure the 2M Blue would trounce it, but all in due time. Super happy with my secondary rig. The movements of the table, from the tone arm action, cue lever, the lid hinges, speed control knob, etc. are all super smooth and tight. It also has auto-stop (not return) and an anti-skate dial as opposed to the fishing line and weight that the Pro-Ject comes with. Certainly pluses. The speed box and auto-stop feature really set this otherwise manual table apart from other manual tables at the same price point. All in all, out of the gate I would recommend this table anyone that is looking for a high-quality listening table but can't play with the big boys of the audiophile world. Either by choice or by responsibility! ; ) Spin on!

My first true turntable purchase. Before I had an all in one record player and fluance blows that out the water. Wonderful table and the customer service is top notch.

The RT82 is an excellent turntable. Well made and sounds great. I upgraded to the acrylic platter to add that little extra touch.

Demetrius T. September 25, 2019 Novice Listener - 6 Years Louisiana, United States

Though I've been listening to records for some years, this is my first legit turntable. Before I had an all-in-one with built in speakers along with a cd player. After some heavy research I decided to go with Fluance and I do not regret it one bit. Not only does the turntable sound wonderful paired with my floorstanding speakers but the customer service is outstanding. It was my first time so i had many questions and they were very helpful answering all my concerns about what i would need for setting up. For a bonus, the employee even gave me a discount code that saved me more than the 10% that I was going to use from the enrollment of their newsletter. I will definitely be doing business from here again!

Salvatore E September 25, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Massachusetts, United States

I've been looking turntables for a while and always found myself back to the Fluance. I just love this turntable. It looks amazing, it's heavy, and the motor is so quiet. The Ortofon 10 needle sounds amazing to my ears. My vinyl from 40 years ago to current sound amazing on this turntable! I had a slight issue with lever to lower the needle onto the record, but their Customer Service helped me with it. Amazing product and Customer Service!

the RT82 really hit the sweets spot for price vs. performance the stylus is the warmest of all the offerings.

I had been using my parents’ old 80s turntable for a while, but could tell it wasn’t doing a great job anymore. I’d had my eye on the RT82 for a while, and I jumped on it when the time and price was eight. Thankfully I did, because it’s just great. I’ll definitely be picking up my listening pace now that I have this guy. Great value and great quality through and through.

David S. August 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

I decided to buy this turntable based on a review by CNET stating it was the best $300 turntable, and was even better than some turntables that cost more. I can say that my new turntable is beautiful and produces accurate sound. I can't complete my review, yet, because I am slowly rebuilding my system and the last thing will be new speakers that will allow me to really appreciate the turntable. I am also very impressed with their customer service. I contacted them twice during the setup of my turntable, and both times they were very helpful. I highly recommend this company and their products.

Rusdi, A August 28, 2019 Novice Listener - 5 Years Oregon, United States

I have been dreaming of owning turntable for few years. And finally decide to get Fluance RT82 because of the upgrade path which what all I can ask as a novice.

The setup was easy to follow although I did few very stupid mistakes and panic when the turntable didn't spin when I turn it on for the first time and later figured that it was because of autostop feature. After all of the those and playing some old records its just a blast.

I would easily recommended RT82 to any novice like me. Its easy to setup, looks great, great reviews, perform as expected and most importantly the upgrade path is available when you wanna take it a notch or two.

Sorry for my language as English is not my first language.

When my B&O 4004 finally gave up the ghost, I went without listening to vinyl for a while. One day I decided to see what else was out there. A review from Cnet pointed me towards the Fluance RT82. I have not been disappointed. The sound is great. The setup was simple. The price is right.

I have been listening to my present stereo for almost 40 years now. Onkyo Integra integrated amp, ADS L810 series II speakers and a Dual 504 CS with an Ortofon VMS 20E Mk II. I know how everything sounds on this setup. I can honestly say that I don't hear any derogation of the sound going down to the Ortofon super OM10. My direct to disc Charlie Byrd and my Telarc digital copy of the Atlanta Symphony doing the Firebird Suite sounds as good on the OM10 as they do on the VMS 20E. Could be my 70 year old ears aren't as good as they once were but I am very pleased with my purchase.

Britt T August 10, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years Illinois, United States

I wanted to upgrade from my AT LP60 and did a lot of research on turntables that could give me the most bang for my $300 or less. I'm very satisfied with my Fluance RT82 purchase. There are so many big and little features that I wished my AT LP60 had that the RT82 has--good tracking.anti-skating control, a rubber slipmat (so many fewer dust problems!), the optical speed sensor (goodbye audibly fast playbacks!), and the bubble level and adjustable feet (an amazing surprise and perfect for my not-level table!) The auto-stop is also a nice extra. Not sure if my impression that my sound quality has gone up is because of the turntable, the phono preamp, or the placebo effect, but I love the sound as well. Very satisfied.

Jorge S. August 9, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

I leave this more as an instructional for pairing the RT82 paired with the Nagaoka 110 or other similar carts. I actually ordered the Nagaoka before the RT82, such were its reviews. Then the crap tracking started. I didn't give the OM10 a chance to show its meddle. In any case, after frustrating weeks of aligning the cart every which way I read where one reviewer added a second mat, thus raising slightly the tone arm. Problem not just solved, music now sounds even more crisp and faultless. Not sure this problem happens across the board. If you got tracking issues and nothing works, raise the tone arm angle. Hope it works.

This is my first turntable purchase. I put a lot of research into which turntable I would like to buy, and I happily ended up with an RT82. I did appreciate the improvements Fluance made over their first 2 turntables in an attempt to cater to more discerning listeners. I've been listening to my current collection of vinyl on this as I get ready for work each morning and it warms me up pretty quickly. Not to mention, it looks great with the rest of my AV equipment as well.

Michael Head July 9, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

I always put a lot of time, and research into the products I purchase. The Reference line from Fluance was no different. What was unusual, is I couldn't find a negative review, and this initially struck me as odd, and made me think I would just wait awhile, let the market get ahold of this turntable for a while, and see what pans out. What panned out was more of the same and racing to try and get one as they started selling out. I ended up getting the RT82, and sincerely have no regrets. Thus far, and granted it has not been long, but I've been beyond impressed with this turntable. Setting up the table correctly is not difficult, but takes a little time if you really want the best from it. Specifically I'm speaking of changing cartridges, which you can do, but don't have to. The rest of setup is a breeze, just follow the instructions. The sound is rich, and pair this with a decent pre-amp and it just sings. Back to the OM10 the table came with. I thought I'd hate it but didn't care because I had an Ortofon 2mRed and MP110 so the cart was irrelevant to me. Out of curiosity, when I got the table left the OM10 on to give it a listen and total honesty...I would have no problem using this cart over many others, even the 2m Red. Yup, I personally liked the mellower sound of the OM10. So what I'm saying is don't hesitate on getting this table, or cart, you won't be disappointed. This is an amazing table, period.

Bob D. July 5, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Quebec, Canada

I've had the RT82 for 2 weeks now, and I love it. It looks amazing and the quality is second to none. The set-up was a breeze, only the tone arm needs to be calibrated as the rest was perfect. I highly recommend it as you get a lot of bang for your buck!

Sergio P July 3, 2019 Audiophile - 5 Years Florida, United States

Easy to set up. Everything from the feet, cartridge, tonearm, and installing the platter/belt.

You still want to check the cartridge alignment with a protractor (Fluances uses Baerwald) just in case.

The feet is height adjustable which makes it easy to level.

Nice tonearm, I do wish it was of lighter material, like carbon-fiber, but at this price point it is understandable.

Great sound from the OM10, I will be switching between cartridges , i currently have the AT95E, and a Shure M97xE. I will also be trying out a Nagaoka MP110 soon.

Once available, I will be upgrading the aluminium platter to the acrylic platter whenever that comes out. *Hurry up Fluance, jk jk*

Wonderful turntable! Huge improvement from my previous turntable which was the audio technica lp60. I can simultaneously enjoy music while knowing my records won't be destroyed, wonderful combo! Also pictures don't do the table justice, it looks absolutely gorgeous in person.

A bit of drama that ended very well. When I first received the turntable, it was defective. I contacted the company and got the best possible customer service. Within 24 hours I had authorization to ship it back at no cost to me, and within a fortnight I received a new turntable. This time it was flawless. I like the operation of this turntable. It has all the features that are desirable with nothing that is superfluous to performance. The design is superb, and thoughtful. I appreciate the auto-stop function, detachable and therefore replaceable interconnects, the detachable head-shell to facilitate cartridge swaps, the adjustable and well designed feet, the excellent Ortofon cartridge, and thoughtful little touches like the bubble level. I did replace the #10 stylus with the nude mounted diamond #20 stylus. It sounds great and functions perfectly. Fluance impressed me not only with the turntable but the superb customer service. Nice to see how well they back their products. I don't know of any other turntable that gives as much for so reasonable a price.

Josh E. June 18, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years California, United States

It’s okay. Lots of static and popping for a turntable in this price range not to mention I received my turntable with missing parts (only one dust cover hinge was included instead of two). Fluance offered to send a replacement a week ago but still hasn’t shipped it so I’m a little frustrated to say the least.

Rick D June 15, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Arizona, United States

The RT 82 and I am sure the 83-85 are a breeze to set-up. Just take care balancing the tone arm as it is important, but not difficult. I did get a VTF gauge to verify the correct tracking force and a protractor as I also bought and upgraded cartridge, a Sumiko Olympia. The combo sounds great. Highly recommended. I was waiting for a RT 85, but couldn’t wait any longer so I bought the 82 and added the additional cartridge, not that the Ortofon OM10 isn’t decent. I heard a Sumiko on a friends TT and really liked it. The RT85 will be a super deal if they ever get back in stock since the Ortofon Blue is valued at $230 itself. Snap it up when it gets back in stock. I bought the walnut veneer version and it is beautiful.

Jorge S June 14, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

The RT82 (and thereby the 83-85) is gorgeous physically and mechanically, the motor effortlessly silent. The long, slow drop of the cue arm allows the music emerge out of the grooves. Set up is a breeze. Calibrating the tonearm and cartridge take a bit of patience but the reward is worth it.

Granted this is my first table and so I have a very limited frame of reference, but I am absolutely loving it so far. Set-up was simple even for a newbie like me, and everything sounds great and functions smoothly.

All in all I'm very happy with the table, and I plan to keep it for years.

My first turntable, although I am old enough to have owned them when they were still around in the 80s. But I went with CDs. After upgrading my speakers and replayed those 80s CDs I was disappointed. So I decided to get a turntable to try the analog sound, and boy was I impressed!!!
The RT82 is fantastic. The sound is detailed and stereo imaging is incredible. I've been buying used LPs from Goodwill like crazy and with very few exception, I have been very pleased.
The other great thing about the RT82 is that it is upgradeable. This to me is a lot of fun, trying new cartridges, an acrylic plate, a different pre-amp, etc. You will not get bored.
Overall, I fully recommend the RT82. A great buy at a competitive price.

Paul Paquette May 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Connecticut, United States

There is a slight fluctuation in rpm on the platter. It fluctuates between 33.2 and 33.5 rpm. However, I only have a couple of hours of use on this turntable and the fluctuations seems to be improving as I continue to use it. There is no discernible issue with the sound with this fluctuation. The turntable/tone arm/cartridge are of very high quality at this price point and compete very well against more costly turntables. Ordering and shipping were excellent and although I did not need customer service, I have seen positive customer service noted by those that do. As I use this table more, I expect the cartridge burnin to sound even better and minor rpm fluctuation to disapate. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Julia S May 24, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 4 Years Alberta, Canada

The Fluance RT82 was an upgrade for an upgrade.

I got into vinyl records back in 2015/2016. Untrained and naive, my first turntable was the Audio Technica LP60. It was quickly cast aside for a used (but still in pristine condition) Pioneer PL 400. The 400 is going to my father whilst the RT82 takes up real estate in my small apartment.

For a CAD$400 purchase, the RT82 exceeds expectations. I settled on it back in Feb after approx. 6 months of research and these 3 months with it has been spectacular. The build quality is excellent and the setup process was fool proof. The shipping was fast and the box it came in was strudy which kept the components safe. The upgradability is an upside and I can see myself using this turntable for years to come.

I have been using an LP60 for a little over a year now after gaining an interest in the world of vinyl. I've only had the RT82 for a few days but already I'm impressed with it's features and quality over my last turntable.

The wood finish is pure eye-candy to look at. The plinth is solid and sturdy with a nice weight to it. The speed control knob has a great tactile feel. The 3 acorn shaped feet made it easy to level the plinth. The tonearm is a very nice quality and looks beautiful with the Ortofon Super OM 10 mounted to it. Speaking of the stylus; it produces great sound even on my cheap $100 powered speakers. I may upgrade to an Ortofon RED or BLUE someday, but this one pleases my ears greatly for now. I was afraid a lot of my music may sound washed out or dull since a great deal of my collection consists of technical death metal, yet this cartridge performs nicely even when playing heavy music.

The RPM sensor has to be one of my favorite features of this TT. I almost bought the RT81 but I wanted more consistent speed and less hassle. The RT82 is right on the dot for RPM speed. An app on my phone is saying there is 0.00% wow and flutter; which is probably close to the actual case.

The smokey colored TT dust cover that comes with the RT82 is great, too. The hinges feel of a nice quality and seem to be spring-loaded. One of the hinges were a little bit of a pain to get on to the dust cover but I used a butter knife to help pry it open.

Another thing I love about the RT82 is that it is essentially the same thing as the RT85 minus the Ortofon BLUE and acrylic platter. I'll probably upgrade to those two features if Fluance offers the platter seperately someday. I could talk about this TT for hours as I'm loving it right now.

After many months of research I decided to go with Fluance. This turntable is definitely giving Rega, U-turn and Pro-Ject a run for their money.

This turntable performs just as good as it looks. I saw the review on Vinyl TV and wanted one, so I switched over from the Audio-Technica AT-LP120 because the built in amp was not that good, this with the new PA10 Preamp is amazing, I also switched to the ortofon blue and what a difference. Waiting for the black to come in and hear this with the preamp and put is through it paces, should preform admirably. I am very happy with my purchase! HIGHLY recommend.

The turntable was easy to set up, it plays perfectly, and it looks fantastic, too.

Jordan C May 14, 2019 Novice Listener - 1 Year Ontario, Canada

Just recently got into vinyl collecting and was looking for my first turntable. The RT82 turntable is a great solid turntable that is a clear cut above the budget entry level TTs, but is still an affordable product that won't break the bank. Out of all the Fluance TTs, or even other "beginner" turntables, I think the RT82 is probably the best value to start out with as it not only has great baseline specs and features (wow/flutter, OM10 stylus, hefty plinth), but is also an investment for the future if I ever want to upgrade parts of it.

The only issue I noticed was that the balance between the left and right channels for my speakers seems to be a bit uneven. But I'm not sure whether that's the turntable or my speakers or something else. Either way, I reached out to the Fluance customer support team and they responded promptly with advice. Great customer support!

I've had my RT82 for about a 1 1/2 and it sounds great.

Kurt G May 8, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 10 Years Pennsylvania, United States

Upgraded from a 30 year old Sony turntable with a worn out belt and a sub-par cartridge. The RT82 has really brought my records to life and I'm happy about having a properly aligned cartridge and tone arm to help protect my vinyl investment. At this price point, you cannot go wrong with this turntable.

Ryan May 3, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years New Brunswick, Canada

Great turntable!! Runs super quite! Love the wood finish!

Mark Hartig April 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

Easy to set up vs. the ProJect Elemental, which I returned because the belt wouldn't stay on. This Fluance is a much heavier & better designed turntable. Too bad all A/V stuff is in a media closet because I'd love to show it off!

David, F April 27, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

The shipping was fast, and customer aftercare is excellent with Fluance so far, as others have pointed out, but more importantly than any of that, since purchasing the RT82, I'm listening to way more music than I was before. I'm buying more albums and flipping them again and again, connecting with music deeply. I think that's probably the highest praise a piece of audio equipment can receive.

Jay L April 26, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years California, United States

I absolutely love this turntable. I was blown away by the build quality when I received it.. then even more blown away by the sound quality. There is no other turntable even close to this at this price point, and would beat out turntables that cost a couple hundred more.

Sam F April 24, 2019 Advanced Listener - 1 Year Virginia, United States

Before getting my RT82 I had a low end turntable. My low end turntable was having tons of issues with skipping and wow & flutter after only a week. I chose the RT82 as my upgrade & have nearly zero issues with it. The functionality of it is great & it is a beautiful piece of hardware. Thank you fluance for keeping happy and letting me play my records with zero issues!!

Larry j April 20, 2019 Audiophile Maryland, United States

got the RT82 and it had several faint scratches on it call and talk to Sean in customer service no problem sent it back , like how well he was at dealing with me so i going to get the RT 83 little more money but they made me feel good

Sam S April 19, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Virginia, United States

Nice looking and flawless performance. Easy set up and is a great addition to my living room!

Matt L April 17, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years California, United States

I did a lot of research looking for a good turntable that hit the right sweet spot of affordability and quality, so that I could start using it today, and wouldn't have buyer's remorse when I decide to upgrade the rest of my system. After evaluating all the other turntables within $100 of this price point, the RT82 was the clear winner. This turntable is beautiful, with quality components and just the right balance of features and simplicity for novice and experienced vinyl enthusiasts alike. Paired with the newly released Fluance PA10 phono preamp, this is a great system that will last a long time, and allow you to do some upgrades along the way like a new cartridge and an acrylic platter until you truly get snobby enough to start dropping thousands of dollars on your hi-fi setup. If you are looking for a turntable, you do not need to look any further than the RT82.

Thomas April 13, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years Indiana, United States

The turntable is great so far and Sean in customer service gave me very quick responses to my pre-purchase questions. The TT arrived in just a few business days.

Vincent G April 12, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

One of the most amazing decks I’ve seen. Build quality is fantastic. Sound quality rivals decks three or four times the price. But the customer service here far exceeded my expectations. From placing the order with Julie to working out a problem which turned out to be on my end with Sean, just an amazing company. You can build a great product but without a great service team to help your customers you fall short. Fluance does both in spectacular fashion.

Great product, engineered very well.

David M. March 30, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Nova Scotia, Canada

One of the initial things I have noticed is how well isolated the RT82 is ... my floors are relatively solid but I put some effort in testing with my shoes on to stomp around the table the RT82 is on and absolutely couldn't hear any transfer of vibration to the stylus ... the RT82 runs very quiet (inaudible to my 60 year old ears) ... I have matched it up to a Shiit Mani Phono Stage and even with a 15ft run from the Mani to the line input of my amp the input gain is spot on (Highly recommend the Mani) .... now I just have to start cleaning my albums (got one of the immersion type cleaners) .... very impressed with the RT82 and would likely consider upgrading to one of the more expensive models in future.

JT March 26, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Great value. Solid and looks great! No charge option for the beautiful walnut finish. Other manufactures charge more.

After researching many turntables, the new Fluance Reference series wins. The Speed Control Motor gives it the best wow and flutter speed variation specs for a belt drive turntable in the $300 to $600 price range. No user speed adjustments needed! The 3 adjustable sprung feet and included level are an added bonus.

I applaud Fluance for not including a low budget internal phono pre-amp and adding $50 to $75 to the price! It is better to have your choice of an external and a good starter pre-amp can be purchased for around $100. Also, if you ever upgrade from the starter pre-amp you can sell it to help with the upgrade purchase.

The auto stop works great and is a great feature that no other manual turntables of this price range have that I know of. The 20 second delay is designed in rather than taking a chance of stopping too early.

Mike W March 26, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 5 Years New Jersey, United States

Very solid and sturdy construction, fantastic value and overall best turntable in the price range. Only wish acrylic platter could come as a separate.

Kevin A March 19, 2019 Novice Listener - 1 Year Florida, United States

Bought the RT82.. first turntable and have no buyers remorse. It's a fantastic product, shipped very well and fast, has been working flawlessly.

Ryan F March 9, 2019 Advanced Listener - 5 Years Florida, United States

This turn table sounds amazing and is super accurate speed wise. It’s heavy, very solidly built which I didn’t expect. Please keep in mind, it doesn’t have a preamp so you’ll need a phono amp... make sure your receiver has a phono input or a separate preamp. You won’t find a better table for the money, customer for life. Now I need to try their speakers.

Don B. March 6, 2019 Audiophile - 20+ Years California, United States

I love my new RT82 turntable. I bought the RT82 to replace a 42 year old, failing, fully manual "audiophile" turntable I've owned since it was new. That table cost me five times (adjusted for inflation) what the RT82 cost me, and the RT82 sounds just as good AND has features that old table doesn't such as auto stop, and a bubble level. Those of us who like to tinker with their gear will be pleased that Fluance wisely chose to equip the table with a "universal", detachable head-shell, and RCA cables which allow for easy swapping of phono cartridges and cables.

RT82 Pros; beautiful walnut finish, tinted dust cover, dead quiet motor, good speed precision, easily replaced head-shell/phono cartridge, auto shut off, detachable RCA cables, and good heft.

Cons; none at this price point.

Way to go Fluance!

Joe H. March 5, 2019 Novice Listener - 6 Years Georgia, United States

Despite the short time I've listened to vinyl records, I've listened to music for a while. The RT82 allows me a new way to experience music, and it performs way beyond my expectations. I upgraded to this from a much cheaper turntable, and as soon as set it up, I knew it was excellent. I decided to put it to the test. My copy of Moving Pictures sounded flawless on this turntable. The quiet passages were dead quiet. Next I played Barry Manilow Live, an album that suffered from inner groove distortion, that virtually disappeared. The included Ortofon cartridge brought life into some records I didn't know had any. This absolutely lives up to the hype and I plan to keep this for years.

Jer R February 28, 2019 Novice Listener - 1 Year New Jersey, United States

Wanted my first table to be able to switch out cartridges and adjust counterweights that are usually not seen with entry level models. It does that, looks sleek, and is a decent price for the value you get out of it. My package came with a damaged dust cover that happened probably through its transportation. I contacted customer support and got a free replacement in a few days. Great experience even with the minor hiccup.

Vance H. February 26, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years California, United States

Extremely well made piece of equipment. Beautiful sound and aesthetics!

Chris S February 20, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 2 Years Virginia, United States

Was a little more than I wanted to spend on my first turntable, but I read all the positive reviews and felt comfortable with the purchase. Wow, was I impressed with the overall quality and sound for the price. All the positive reviews were spot on!

Andy R February 20, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Minnesota, United States

Love our new RT82. It was super easy to set up with clear instructions. It looks and sounds amazing.

Christian C February 16, 2019 Novice Listener - 1 Year California, United States

I looks far and wide for an great entry into records. The fact that it is so easy to set u and comes with features that other similar products charge extra for is awesome. What really sold me is the fact this this has the potential to be the the only turntable I ever own. An amazing product that can be upgraded easily, down the line, with the purchase of an acrylic platter, different stylus and mat.

Brian A February 13, 2019 Novice Listener - 5 Years Washington, United States

Easy to set up, use, and care for. Fluance's customer service has been a pleasure to deal with while making my first step into the HiFi realm. The auto-stop feature isn't very finely tuned. It takes ~ 30 seconds of spinning once the needle hits the run out groove.

Mark H February 12, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Texas, United States

Arrived well insulated and packed. Super easy to set up and I was listening to vinyl in no time. Beautiful glossy wood finish on plinth. Belt was a breeze to install as was balancing tonearm. The sound from the included Ortofon cartridge is warm with just enough treble. I've tried other turntables in this price range, but nothing compares even closely to this one. You won't regret purchasing!

Jamie B February 8, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 1 Year Texas, United States

So far I am very happy with my RT82. Platter doesn't spin completely perfect but it doesn't seem to affect playback. I have about 10+ hours of listening on it, but so far so good.

Michael Gh February 7, 2019 Advanced Listener - 10 Years Illinois, United States

I am really happy with this turntable, there are few things that it would make this turntable an amazing one, the rca cable and the ground cable are on the short side, you might want to buy a different one if you decide to place your turntable not next to your receiver.

Brian B. February 5, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years New York, United States

This is my first turntable and I'm really digging it. It looks really nice in person and sounds good.

Jerry G February 5, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Colorado, United States

Outstanding value for the money. Solidly built. The on-off/speed selection knob operates silky smoothly. Especially like that the turntable has an auto shutoff feature (which can be enabled or disabled). That is a feature that is not commonly available on better quality turntables. Also appreciate that the same base and motor are used on the RT82 through RT85. The cartridge quality and platter material are the only differences.

I had retrieved my LP collection from storage, and was listening on my old turntable. Even though it was a quality turntable, its age was showing. (I could detect wow & flutter.) This new turntable provides the means to truly enjoy that old vinyl again.

Robert M February 5, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

Great Sound at a fantastic price! I have had this RT-82 turntable for a few weeks and I am really impressed. It looks great on my entertainment center and sounds even better. I am new to vinyl and really enjoying finding new (old) records in record stores and other discount locations. Very happy with my purchase.

Robert M January 30, 2019 Intermediate Listener - 20+ Years Florida, United States

What unbelievable sound!!! I have recently gotten into vinyl records and really did my research on turntables. After much thought I selected the Fluance RT82. What a great decision it has been. I feel the sound is even better than my CD collection. Sean in customer service was very helpful in answering a few questions. I really love this turntable and I am enjoying my new hobby. Finding new/old albums in record stores, Goodwill, etc., has been a lot of fun!

William S January 29, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

Had this record player or about 2 weeks now and have gotten about 20 hours of play time out of it. So far I am 100% satisfied. Very well built and very good sound

Rain F January 17, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years Ontario, Canada

This is a great piece of gear for the money. My wife and I had about 300 albums, then my father gave me his collection of about the same, and then my father in law gave us HIS collection of 1000+ titles. As I sorted crate after crate after crate, I really felt compelled to up my game on the TT front. I searched for days on end, trying to squeeze every drop of tone I could from my modest pile of loonies, and am beyond satisfied with my decision to go with the RT82. I find myself listening to music at every possible moment now, which is ultimately what it's all about.
Quick shipping, great customer aftercare. A definite vote from me if you're wondering what to put under your albums.

Spencer, B January 14, 2019 Audiophile - 19 Years Georgia, United States

After reading all of the reviews of the RT-81, I was already set on buying a Fluance. Lucky before I clicked the "Buy Now" button, I noticed they new line of Reference Turntables.

After doing the view, I thought $50.00 more was not bad considering the listed upgrades, so I went with the RT-82.

I was also excited to see the upgrade path in the event I felt I needed more, so starting out with the RT-81 don't leave me feeling cheap.

After the setup (very easy), I went back to play some LP's to see if I could really hear a difference. And I did!!!! I was sceptical, because everybody claims "Sounds so much better!!!" but in this case. It did.

Considering how easy it was to set up, and the improved sound. I know I made the right choice. Not to mention how sexy the piano black looks.

I would really be interested to hear if the acrylic platter makes a difference, but for now, I am going to soak up the enjoyment of what I have.

Sean A. January 7, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years British Columbia, Canada

I love this turntable! It sounds incredible and is very well built. It's easy to setup and you'll be listening to your vinyl within a few minutes of unpacking. I can't recommend this turntable highly enough.

Edward S January 4, 2019 Advanced Listener - 20+ Years New Hampshire, United States

This turntable exceeded my expectations. I am listening to vinyl again and I am not disappointed. Great return on investment and I am happy I bought from Fluance.
