I am old school heavy gear so I'm running these speakers as stand alone tower speakers via 80's vintage analog Pioneer SX-5590 receiver/amp pushing 200w x 6 channels. I am very pleased with the look and finish of these speakers, I choose the Dark Cherry finish. The real substance to these speakers is in the sharp thumping bass which is what I like when listening to classic rock & country with a very crisp mid-range. The highs are a bit washed out but that may be because of the excellent bass response but let's wait until after the 10 hour break in, nothing a few knob turns can't fix.You could spend a whole lot more for the usual brand names and not get anymore speaker for your money. If you have unlimited funds then you're probably not reading this in the first place but so often with audio it really boils down to what sounds good to you. Most of what you are paying for with overpriced audio and "name brand" components only 1% of the listening audience can distinguish; meaning a waste of money if you ask me. I spent hours researching tower speakers and reading many reviews. I bought these. -Verified purchase from Fluance trusted store.
