I took a chance on these speakers after reading all the outstanding reviews here on Amazon. It took me a little bit, and an hour or two, to get used to them since I was running a pair of vintage speakers but once I got familiar with them I was blown away. I have a vintage Sansui AU717 integrated amplifier with the matching TU717 tuner. My system matches really well with these speakers. To get the exact sound I was looking for I had to adjust the bass and treble and also found that to get the really punchy sound that I like use the loudness switch at low volume. It's also true that after 10 or so hours of break in the clarity really improves. I've got maybe 20 hours into them now and they really sound good! I listen mainly to cds and can really tell the difference now between a quality recording and something lesser. The newer albums and remasters whether its rock, blues, or folk which I mainly listen to blow me away. No regrets with the XL7f's. -Verified purchase from Fluance trusted store.
