We'll I've played 5 different vintage & new receivers/amps through these things and they made every one of them sound great. I pushed these speakers to beyond sonic sanity-- and they never faltered. "Bass Head" by Bassnectar is a brutal as it gets and these things didn't break a sweat. Scared me a bit how loud and clear they go while smoothly and deeply shaking everything within 20 feet. I'm comparing these things with HPM-100's and although no contest, their sound is just perfect for my ears in a big bedroom. If you think these things lack punch, I think you need a bigger amp. -Verified Store
