** I have removed two stars, for now. The speakers have developed a distortion in the lower frequencies. It's really weird, maybe something the DSP is doing. It's more noticeable at lower volumes (these are on my desk). What used to be tight accurate bass, is now muddy and has this strange distortion. I have not played these excessively loud, and don't think it's an issue with the drivers, but something else. Also, the white noise, hiss these speakers have has gotten louder. I am exchanging for another set. Will update review according to their performance.I went back and forth between Audioengine A5's, Kanto yu6's, and these Ai60's. My use for the speakers were on my desk as near fields. I really had no intention of adding a sub, and the 6.5' drivers delivering 35hz low end performance kept drawing me back. I pulled the trigger, and couldn't be happier. They sound fantastic! I first ordered the walnut and white, and decided to exchange for bamboo because they didn't look right with my wood desk. Amazon was great about facilitating the exchange. One thing that's been discussed is the 'hiss' from these speakers. They do have a very slight hiss when nothing is playing. I cannot hear it unless I stick my head next to the speakers, it is a non-issue for me, nad can't be heard in the music at all. The speakers are clear and powerful, the bass sounds great from low to mid frequencies. It is clear and undistorted. The imaging is incredible, the sound-stage great with vocals right in front of me, clearly hearing all the different instruments spread around. I have the bass and treble at the factory levels. I've played with them, but keep going back. I gave Bluetooth 4 stars because you can't switch devices without hitting button on back of speaker, but not a big deal. The build quality looks solid, obviously not reall wood veneers here, but these are $299, so not expected. I think this a great value and delivers in spades. Would buy again, if needed.
