I have purchased the RT85 TT to replaced my Teac TN-300 plagued with motor issues. Before the purchase I have "studied" the mid end market and based on the excellent reviews found on the net I decided to go ahead with the order. Immediately out of the box, after the quick setup, I could notice a huge difference between my old TT and this one. I am sure the higher end 2M blue cartridge on the RT85 has a lot to do with what I was hearing but my positive experience did not stop there. I like about everything about this TT, the quality of the product is probably, in my opinion, well above its price range. I could go ahead and list all the positives but my limited knowledge and low to mid end setup, would make my review probably not as helpful as one of the specialists out there on the net (ex. audioholics.com).
Bottom line is that if you are looking for a new turntable under 1k, look no further.
