Product Review (submitted on July 12, 2020):
My first turntable was an Audio Technica LP60, which I bought years ago to decide whether vinyl was really for me. (It was.) When the AT finally gave up the ghost, I went looking for a replacement that would be a noticeable step up sonically without totally breaking the bank. Settled on the RT82 after reading a bunch of reviews of TTs in its price bracket.
I adore it. Sounds wonderful, with punchier bass, more clarity, and better stereo spread than the AT. I get that lovely experience of hearing all my favorite records "for the first time" again. The aesthetics are great too. Maybe this is pretentious but it looks and feels like a "serious" turntable. Something worth displaying in your setup.
If I have any "complaints," it's that this TT rewarded such careful listening that I noticed some problems with my preamp and AC power. But I can't really hold that against Fluance. Ah, the joys of vinyl.
