Product Review (submitted on August 10, 2020):

These are very good powered bookshelf speakers for the price. They look amazing, they are extremely easy to set up, and they sound good for the price. I’m using them as desktop speakers with no subwoofer. They do have a subwoofer output, but the bass is very good on these speakers, so you don’t need a sub unless you love extremely low bass response. They come with a decent remote, and the interface is easy enough to learn and use. There are limited EQ controls (raise/lower bass and treble). Now, the downsides:First, the speakers come with minimal cables. If you want to use USB or optical, you’ll have to purchase the cable separately.Second, there is a prominent hissing noise from the speakers in every input but optical. You can mitigate this by setting the speakers to very low volume and increasing the source volume, but this is not ideal (see below), so I only recommend these speakers if you can use an optical input.Third, the speakers have a dynamic EQ that increases the bass at lower volumes (relative to the volume setting on the speakers). This is annoying, and there’s no real reason why any user would want this feature. I don’t want a volume knob that also changes the EQ of the speakers, so the best way to mitigate this is to set a volume on the speakers once then never change it. This is fine for desktop use, but be careful purchasing these for a TV setup.Fourth, these speakers are very bass heavy. They sound great (NB: not nearly as good as passive speakers in the same price range, but you settle for simplicity and convenience), but if you live in an apartment, you may need to install an EQ on your PC to lower the bass. Without doing so, I bother my apartment neighbors If I turn the volume up enough to hear dialog clearly.Ultimately, these are great-looking, decent-sounding, extremely easy-to-set-up speakers with some minor flaws that you can generally mitigate. Great value for the price, and I highly recommend these as long as you are okay with the flaws
