Everything you have heard about this pair of small wonders is true save one very important thing everyone keeps ignoring. This is not a 5' driver - nope - shut up everyone who fan boy's into Fluance pride. And here is why you should be quiet:One does not measure the basket seam and say to the world 'It's a 4-7/8 basket so the speaker must be a 5' driver' That is bull and anyone who can count in metric or 'standard' knows this to be true.In this case someone decided to magically morph 4-1/4' into a 5' mid base driver.The Industry constantly lies like politicians who never have to be held accountable for their lies - it's speaker talk after all. No one has ever been killed by the speaker industry lying about their specs.But everyone should note that it is fraud if a company lies about their products knowing full well their talk is beyond misleading. It is outright lying and fraudulent to knowingly misrepresent something in order to profit from that lie - unless you're a politician still in office then it's just lying right?We have laws in the united states, I'm sure Oh Ca-na-da has them as well. Yet here we are treating this all as normal when we all know better. Shame on all of you who let this slide. I am sick of it and will never become an apologist for any 'industry'. That is not my job as a consumer.Personal Observations of the speakers look and performance:They sound pretty good mid to high - duh look at that tweeter with aluminum horn. They are boring to look at with the screens on so just take them off and leave it that way. I want to say that build quality is better than it should be at this price - or is it? Why did they lie about the mid base woofer?It is fine for what it is. Just don't lie because they wont sell.Is it a mistake to mix piano polished front with a wood wrap - you decide. Do they resonate, yup. But without it I think they would not be as impressive. Do they get harsh? Nope. They image surprisingly well, again look at that tweeter design. Can I kill them with power? Hell yes these are small Speakers in my world. The boxes are substantial though, and do take up space so forget desktop dining.I will keep them because I paid $145 after taxes for a re-furbed pair and I need new surrounds. Will I purchase Fluance again? I definitely have a negative opinion of their tactics now so perhaps not. They would have to do something to rectify or mitigate the lies about their driver sizes.
