I am a big fan of the weight and aesthetics of this platter. I think it completely tightens upmand wow or flutter that was already minimal with the aluminum platter. The thickness is my biggest gripe. Why build 90% of the line-up with a aluminum platter with the exact same dimensions WITH the additional 2mm of a rubber mat then sell one model preloaded and the upgrade path to the acrylic without accounting for the missing 2mm of the rubber mat??? I had loaded a fairly thin vintage pressing Doobie brothers record and the tone arm was so much lower without the rubberat that it was basically bouncing on the lowered tone arm lift. I wouldn't mind this if it wasn't so heavily advertised to run this platter without a mat and playing directly on it. Yeah that would make total sense to me if the platter didn't throw the VTA out of wack without the means to adjust for it aside from adding back the 2mm via a slip mat.
