Great turntable; easy to set up and very stylish.
Sounds great with my novice setup.
the RT82 really hit the sweets spot for price vs. performance the stylus is the warmest of all the offerings.
I had been using my parents’ old 80s turntable for a while, but could tell it wasn’t doing a great job anymore. I’d had my eye on the RT82 for a while, and I jumped on it when the time and price was eight. Thankfully I did, because it’s just great. I’ll definitely be picking up my listening pace now that I have this guy. Great value and great quality through and through.
The RT82 is the real sweet spot. loads of features, and a amazing warm cartridge.
I decided to buy this turntable based on a review by CNET stating it was the best $300 turntable, and was even better than some turntables that cost more. I can say that my new turntable is beautiful and produces accurate sound. I can't complete my review, yet, because I am slowly rebuilding my system and the last thing will be new speakers that will allow me to really appreciate the turntable. I am also very impressed with their customer service. I contacted them twice during the setup of my turntable, and both times they were very helpful. I highly recommend this company and their products.
I have been dreaming of owning turntable for few years. And finally decide to get Fluance RT82 because of the upgrade path which what all I can ask as a novice.
The setup was easy to follow although I did few very stupid mistakes and panic when the turntable didn't spin when I turn it on for the first time and later figured that it was because of autostop feature. After all of the those and playing some old records its just a blast.
I would easily recommended RT82 to any novice like me. Its easy to setup, looks great, great reviews, perform as expected and most importantly the upgrade path is available when you wanna take it a notch or two.
Sorry for my language as English is not my first language.
When my B&O 4004 finally gave up the ghost, I went without listening to vinyl for a while. One day I decided to see what else was out there. A review from Cnet pointed me towards the Fluance RT82. I have not been disappointed. The sound is great. The setup was simple. The price is right.
I have been listening to my present stereo for almost 40 years now. Onkyo Integra integrated amp, ADS L810 series II speakers and a Dual 504 CS with an Ortofon VMS 20E Mk II. I know how everything sounds on this setup. I can honestly say that I don't hear any derogation of the sound going down to the Ortofon super OM10. My direct to disc Charlie Byrd and my Telarc digital copy of the Atlanta Symphony doing the Firebird Suite sounds as good on the OM10 as they do on the VMS 20E. Could be my 70 year old ears aren't as good as they once were but I am very pleased with my purchase.
I wanted to upgrade from my AT LP60 and did a lot of research on turntables that could give me the most bang for my $300 or less. I'm very satisfied with my Fluance RT82 purchase. There are so many big and little features that I wished my AT LP60 had that the RT82 has--good tracking.anti-skating control, a rubber slipmat (so many fewer dust problems!), the optical speed sensor (goodbye audibly fast playbacks!), and the bubble level and adjustable feet (an amazing surprise and perfect for my not-level table!) The auto-stop is also a nice extra. Not sure if my impression that my sound quality has gone up is because of the turntable, the phono preamp, or the placebo effect, but I love the sound as well. Very satisfied.
I leave this more as an instructional for pairing the RT82 paired with the Nagaoka 110 or other similar carts. I actually ordered the Nagaoka before the RT82, such were its reviews. Then the crap tracking started. I didn't give the OM10 a chance to show its meddle. In any case, after frustrating weeks of aligning the cart every which way I read where one reviewer added a second mat, thus raising slightly the tone arm. Problem not just solved, music now sounds even more crisp and faultless. Not sure this problem happens across the board. If you got tracking issues and nothing works, raise the tone arm angle. Hope it works.
Clean and true! I immediately upgraded to an Ortofon 2M Blue and couldn't be happier. It's a simple but we'll built turntable that delivers outstanding performance!
This turntable sounds way better than its price! I am thrilled to have it is part of my set up and it is definitely helped my listening experience.
This is my first turntable purchase. I put a lot of research into which turntable I would like to buy, and I happily ended up with an RT82. I did appreciate the improvements Fluance made over their first 2 turntables in an attempt to cater to more discerning listeners. I've been listening to my current collection of vinyl on this as I get ready for work each morning and it warms me up pretty quickly. Not to mention, it looks great with the rest of my AV equipment as well.
I wanted to wait until I had listened to the RT82 until some time had passed, but it sounds absolutely wonderful!
Great starter turntable! Well built, great performance and easy setup.See all reviews
