Have had this unit over one week now and couldn't be more pleased. Easy to set up, my 20 year old son immediately noticed the sound difference from our Bang & Olufsen.
Pros: Great sound, good call putting the Otofon 2M Blue stylus on the RT84! Looks gorgeous.
Cons: Not really a con but we have our turntable located under our TV in an entertainment center. Everything at the base of the tone arm mount, including the lift lever... is black. In low light it's difficult to see the tone arm lever which is reeeeeeeaaaalllly close to the tone arm. Would be helpful to have a visual indicator on the lever to see it better and/or move it slightly away from being so close to the tone arm. -
Vinyl means a lot to me. Even though digital quality is near perfect. I am happiest playing a record. I’ve owned turntables for 45 years. I’m not rich so this table was an act of reverent commitment for me. When I dropped the needle for the first time tears of joy welled up in my eyes. I know this is not a helpful technical review, but if you love vinyl, don’t hesitate. It’s an amazing turntable at this price point.

The auto stop feature is not reliable at all. You’ll shorten the life of cartridge and it’s expensive to replace. Customer service took two weeks to get back to me and no live person could ever be reached. I wanted to change my order to the rt85 but slow customer service made that impossible.

My RT84 is my first turntable after almost 20 years with none. I never had even a decent unit - hence I'll call myself an Intermediate lister even though my ears assisted for 4 years in a top recording studio in the area (then recording on my own) and listeneing to music for 40 years. All my dormant vinyl , 6 storage boxes full and all the space it was taking up un-used. No, I will not take the advice of by brother-in-law, get rid of it all and sign on to streaming services. It's not the same. So after a month of research I made the 84 my choice. So, in under an hour, with great balancing instructions, and with my OM2 Blue cartridge seemingly already aligned - a big plus for me, I'm already cranking out Return to Forever and Rush!! I am on CLOUD 9!!! Next up, Mozart? Thank you Fluance.

Quick shipping, easy set-up, looks nice, quiet, stable speed, Ortofon Blue sounds nice, easy to use, very useful autostop

I waited way to long to purchase an audiophile turn table. After a month of research, I am blown away by the quality of my Fluance RT84.
-
Excellent Turntable!!!!!! RT84!!!!!!Great Sound. I paired the turntable with a Marantz 1060 amplifier and JBL L26 Decade speakers!!!!!
-
Wow, I’m amazed at the quality of this turntable. Directions are awesome and are easy to follow. If there’s any confusion you can go to their videos for help. This is an amazing turntable table for this price point. Highly recommended. Oh and the best part you can upgrade your turntable. Which I plan to do shortly.

This is the second turntable I've bought in this century, a HUGE upgrade from my first "Sony pslx-300usb"! I'm a "growing " audiophile and this deck makes my "mediocre " records sound great! Bad records, ah they sound bad regardless of what you play them on! My top quality "audiophile " records sound like pure heaven! This deck don't play around, it's for real! Their able to offer this at a good price because the "dust cover " and "wallwart" were made in china! But I assure you the rest was made in "Taiwan" , and this sucker is solid at 14.1 pounds! Pair it with a "schitt mani" preamp and your chariot awaits! I'm absolutely beaming about this very hi-fi product!
-
This turntable, hands down, is the best turntable one can get for its price. Fluance is an excellent brand and I highly recommend!
-
I have one myself, and bought this for a friend as a gift. We both love it! Great quality for the price.

I purchased the RT84 on 08/2019, the PA10 High Fidelity Phono Preamp on 09/19, and the acrylic platter on 04/20. The Preamp is connected to a Parasound HALO A21+ amplifier, and a Denon receiver manages the volume. The speakers are Wharfedale Jade 3. I play the RT84 from 20 to 25 hours a week, and I play a great variety of genres. After almost 2 years of daily playing, I can say that the RT84 continues to perform way beyond its price point. The reproduction is rich and clean, the sound staging is superb, resonance is nonexistent. The RT84 continues to outperform my other 2 turntables, one of which is twice the RT84 price, the other, more than three times the price. This is just a great product.

I replaced a music hall mmf 5.1se with ortofon blue cartridge and this table sounds better I added the acrylic plater. Very beautiful table. The bamboo is flawless. Very detailed sound. My system is audio research ls-8 line stage, Vincent phono pre, bryston power amp and Tekton lores never heard it sound so good. Thanks Fluance keep up the excellent quality.

Super happy with this table. A low-end Hi-Fi table and cartridge. Would recommend for all but the most critical audio professors. Great value for anyone that doesn’t want to drop $1.000+ on a turntable but wants to hear their albums in a new way.

I love this turntable. It sounds great paired with my pluto preamp. The sound is very natural overall. I upgraded the platter to the available acrylic which didn't do much in terms of sound quality but it looks great.

FAQs
Based on the popularity of the RT85 and feedback from our users, We are relaunching our RT84 Reference Series Turntable with a twist! Instead of receiving an acrylic platter and Ortofon 2M Red, we will now be offering them with the aluminum platter and Ortofon 2M Blue! With this upgrade, we are also happy to say that the price will remain the same as it was previously so you can enjoy the sonic brilliance of the 2M Blue with the option to upgrade your platter in the future.
An amplifier is only needed if you’re connecting the turntable to passive speakers such as the Signature Series Bookshelf Surround Speakers.
If you’re looking for an option without a separate amplifier, the Ai40 Powered Bookshelf speakers fit the bill.
With the Ai40, all you need to do is connect the included RCA cables to your preamp, then to the speakers and you’re ready to listen to the music the way it was meant to be heard.
If you intend to use your Reference series turntable with powered bookshelf speakers such as our Ai40 model, a preamp will be required.
The preamp will boost the signal to line level (similar to a headphone jack) so you can play it on speakers with RCA or AUX inputs.
If you have a home theater or stereo receiver/amplifier, you will need a preamp if the amplifier does not have a PHONO input. If you have a PHONO input, you may have a preamp already built in. Be sure to refer to the manufacturer’s specifications or manual for confirmation!
This design choice was made with a number of factors in mind. The main reason was to separate electronics from the turntable’s signal path to maintain the purity of the analog signal. Many listeners also like to customize their listening experience and choose specific components such as preamps based on unique sonic qualities. Using separate components also allows for optimization of cartridge and phono stage compatibility. If you upgrade your cartridge in the future, you can pair with an optimal phono preamp to maximize performance and achieve the sound profile you desire. !
