  1. Exquisite modernist design accompanied by exceptional engineering and sound quality. 7 people found this helpful

I wanted to write this in response to some of the 'complaints' seen a in a few unrealistically negative review posted on Amazon. The pictures of this unit are displayed accurately across the internet as well as on Amazon. Complaints about it's 'look' are irrational since since no one goes into any purchase blindly, unless you are irresponsible. If you don't appreciate the modernist design clearly illustrated in the pictures, or if it won't fit in with your décor, don't buy it.No, the BOSE products don't come close into delivering the amplitude nor the bass response of the Fluance Fi70. Simple understanding of the physics required to deliver amplitude dictates that the BOSE Soundlink, in any of it's portable forms, cannot deliver anywhere near the amplitude, bass or midrange response that the Fi70 brings to your environment. You may believe the sound quality, absent of midrange and amplitude, is better, but it is not as effective in larger environments. The Fluance is a whole house or large room system. The Soundlink is appropriate for a table or small gathering of people. While this unit is bluetooth, IT IS NOT PORTABLE. It weighs 80 lbs.! It is for permanent installations and was not designed to be taken on a camping trip. It requires 120 volts AC power. There is no battery option. All this is explained it the product specifications. Please read them. These points aside, as an avid lover of music, and an audiophile whose experience goes deep into higher end equipment along the lines of McIntosh, Krell and Audio Research, I can confidently state that I love this unit. No...it will not replace your $50K high end stereo but if you are looking for an alternative system in another area of your house that isn't a dedicated listening room, this unit is both convenient and delivers what I would describe as more than acceptable quality of sound...admittedly heavy on the bass at factory preset levels but the bass level control and treble level control, easily accessible on the remote, can easily accommodate your equalization needs and desires. For the person who wants a high degree of definition of sound, ample bass response, and reasonably high amplitude (it provides FAR more than I would ever need), this unit could easily supplant a full stereo rack system without the extreme expense associated. While using a higher end system in my smaller house, if space and expense were limited, I could easily feel blessed and grateful, using this powered bluetooth speaker system as my central amplification/speaker device. An auxiliary switching unit could easily expand the Fluance Fi70s number of inputs and an external phono stage could even be added if the user has a turntable.I've experienced no issues with the frequency response of the unit, no crackling in the sound and the low frequency is defined while delivering an amazing level of punch or air movement. It is not a flabby low end but extremely tight. The mids and highs are refined but not harsh, (more of a silky roll off) and this makes listening to the speaker a pleasant experience. To be honest, I don't think I've heard anything quite like it before although I've not heard everything. I have demanding tastes and I am pleasantly surprised that this product has found a permanent place in my home. With built in radio, alarm clock, Digital Optical input, Aux input and a charging port for USB devices, This systems makes a wonderful addition to your home (I use mine in a bedroom) and can easily be programmed and integrated into existing sound sources. It is clearly a high quality unit made with great components and I would recommend this for both quality of sound and auctionability to anyone who understands what they are looking at and buying. Read all specs and inspect all pictures before purchase.

Ok so assembly was an ordeal, and the main post holding the unit had a small crease in it. However it took so long to arrive and was so heavy to unbox, I just made sure the crease was to the back. Somehow one of the very tiny bags with the very tiny screws got loose amongst the voluminous packaging so we had a terrifying final few minutes of the assembly. Screws finally located we finished assembly and hoisted it into its place.Out of the box it sounded great. After the burn-in period it took our socks off and folded them for us. We have about 1700 square feet of home, and at 3/4 volume you can pretty much hear it anywhere in the house. And out on the front porch. We have a dumb tv so I purchased a high quality aux cable and connected it to the headphone jack of the tv. No sound issues at all. Hooked up the radio antennas and the tuners work great. Bluetooth has no issues unless I walk with my phone to the opposite side of the house. It will not handle multiple devices attached so be prepared to have to disconnect one source before connecting another.I'm not a true audiophile but I do know what I like. And I like this unit. A lot. From classical to rap to good old 80s dance music, this system puts out music you can feel. Literally. Bass is pounding but clear. Treble is crisp but not harsh. It's loud without hurting your ears. Most likely you will never use the max volume unless you are legally deaf.As reported elsewhere you really won't use the buttons on the unit much - stick to the remote control. Mildly annoying to have to cycle through the inputs and it pauses on each one, so when going from aux back to Bluetooth you get short blasts of FM and AM. Would have been nice to have a button for each source but I'm getting picky. The sound makes you forget all about any trivial issues. Buy it. And schedule an appointment with your chiropractor a couple days after the arrival date.

  4. High on design and rich in sound 1 people found this helpful

I have owned the Fi70 for over a year now and it still puts a smile on my face every time I listen to it. The 3-way design delivers great clarity throughout the extensive frequency response range. I bought this for the purpose of having room filling sound while entertaining and while it certainly fills that roll, I was happy to hear how well it does for near field listening. For a single cabinet design, you get surprisingly good separation when sitting in the sweet spot. I particularly enjoy listening to vinyls when connected to my Fluance RT81 turntable. If quality room filling sound and conversation worthy design are important to you, then the Fi70 will not disappoint.

The Fi70 is a spectacular creative artistic and very musical unit. I purchased two of these units and the sound quality gets better and better the more music time is played. Now I have been having an issue with a beeping sound coming during music playback and I called customer service and spoke with an amazing and so helpful customer service representative named REBECCA! She instructed me on how to resolve the problem and said the problem might be with an alarm that I unknowingly set on the unit. The quality of these units are amazing and they blow away anything else on the market. The price range is very reasonable. The best part about this company is the people and Rebecca is a stellar example of just a wonderful human being that is so helpful and kind. I usually do not leave reviews, however because of my experience here with Rebecca, as well as my satisfaction with FLUANCE, I am leaving a five star review. I would give 10 stars !!!!
