"Overall, the sound these loudspeakers produce is just beautiful and beastly. They handle music amazingly well, but they also make movies sound stellar, along with games and TV."

8' sub gave disappointing bass, speakers are bigger than I thought. Glue on one of the drivers came loose. Good customer service.Russell D Stewart 3
Using as a 2.0 speaker system for music with a tube amp for authentic/vintage sound. I have an existing sub woofer hooked up from a different speaker system but don't even turn it on... The down firing woofer in this speaker does an excellent job! From what I have heard I don’t think there is anything out there at this price point, this quality/sound, and size. Would buy again!!! One of my speakers did come in damaged but Fluance's customer service took care of it with no issues.Scott G 5
I received my new XL8F speakers in July 2021 in mint and perfect condition. So these comments are made after 5 months of evaluation.Stephane 5
Although at first glance the look is reminiscent of my old XL7F, the new XL8F towers have a lot of upgraded details. Better looking drivers with a tighter grouping, cleaner look without visible hardware and revised terminals. All nice visual upgraded touches on an already stunning design at this price range.
Performance wise : Better sound signature, more quantity and quality on the frequency response extremities without loosing the smooth mid response.
This is exactly what I was hoping for, bright fine very high frequencies and better lower bass (up to the standard of good 8 inches driver).
They are really able to play music without a sub and this was not the case IMO with the XL7f, now I only use my excellent SVS sealed sub on some occasion (and was seriously recalibrate for the new towers)
I also think the 87db sensitivity seems conservative since these speakers are easy to drive. (with my 80w/ch Harman-Kardon stereo receiver)
My XL7F where very nice for the price but felt a bit of a let down audio wise IMO.
My new XL8f are excellent all around without a single weak spot and I would buy them again without hesitation.
Kuddos to the team who did an excellent job on the revised product.
I’m totally satisfied with my new XL8f towers speakers and I had a stellar costumer support from Brent at Fluance who made several emails to answer my questions prior to my purchase.
Amazing... Simply amazing... Crisp clear highs and Punch through mids... The down firing driver sends enough bass to rattle my living room... No joke the reference series all together is worth every penny.Matthew 5
I am very happy with these speakers thus far. Shipping was right on time and they arrived in great condition. Build quality is very good for the price range. I have them paired with a new Denon stereo receiver with 100 w per channel and that's more than enough to drive them. I am currently using them in a fairly large section of my basement and they sound great. Plan is to move them into a bedroom which will serve as my didicated music room. Would buy them again.Paul H. 5
Good value great sound build quality is also good.Vern W 5

In overall, i am very satisfied with my purchase. I havent done scientific comparison but i compared my feeling with Kef q550 tower vs reference 3way. First i am very disappointed with kef customer support and that was the reason i switched to another brand. Kef Uni-q has engineering issue and exploded during time. back to fluance, based on what you pay sound is good, clear, sub woofer is a good addition, design is nice and white speakers are beautiful, speaker abit big and heavy and box is not really sexy. improvements that i suggest is reduce weight and do better finishing on the box, and probably move subs on sides instead of down firing.Amir 5
I have a 7.2 set, in the past I used bookshelf size speakers all around. With the remodel, I decided to go with Towers up front (L/R). I have a pair of the SX (Elite series now), that has worked very well in my 2 channel setup in the livingroom. For years I liked the look of the old XL7 model, so now I went with the new XL8's and I couldn't be happier. They blend in smoothly with my Polkaudio CS 10 and the Optimus L3 surrounds. In stereo for 2 channel listening they can hold their own without the help of my SVS PB 4000's subs. Fluance has come through again for me.Draymond C 5
I have the big sisters of these speakers (the Fluance Signature HFHTB) in a 5.0 setup in my family room. I found them a mixed bag but eventually I managed to punch them into a good sounding system. This involved extensive equalization so they got in the end a couple of stars off (while still recommending them because of the excellent price/quality ratio). Then the time has come to replace the speakers in my living room (in a 2.0 configuration). There was no way I would allow the Signature beasts in there; I mean, those are incredibly massive speakers that totally dominate any space they are in, which was in my book not the right move for my living space. Going on the devil you know route I thought I would try the smaller Fluance Reference speakers. That turned out to be a good move.My problem right off the bat was that as opposed to the Signature series there are virtually no hard, detailed reviews of these speakers to guide my decision. Still, I expected them to feature a similar response so I bit the bullet. I was a bit worried about the slightly lower sensitivity (by 2dB), but that turned out to be a non-issue in my setup; my Denon AVR-2113C1 drives them just fine, with power to spare.Physically these speakers are considerably smaller (and lighter) than the Signature series. The workmanship and materials used are about the same (very good). They still are on the large size, but nonetheless they blend well enough into the background. They have the same rear-firing bass reflex ports (so that placement is more of a challenge), but virtually all the good speakers out there have the same setup.Subjectively the speakers sound quite similar to the Signature series. They took less break-in time (about one day). Just like for their big sisters I performed an Audyssey calibration which offered virtually the same calibration curve (showing the same quite uneven frequency response). Like before I also needed to adjust the curve manually by toning down the highs and bumping up the bass a bit. I ended up with virtually the same listening experience as on my Signature system: very enjoyable though not necessarily exhilarating. Given the price point I think that these speakers do an outstanding job. In particular to my surprise the down-firing woofer of the Reference series is very nearly just as good as the monster double woofer of the Signature speakers. In all, I am impressed with these speakers and I therefore recommend them. Were I to purchase another system at this price point I would most likely go for a Reference rather than Signature setup.Que 4
I live in Malaysia, bought it after watching so many videos and forums from audiophile groups. The sound is fantastic after 10 hours of listening. Looks elegance and expensive...heavy too. I take the cover out when listening as it looks very sexy. I need to spend sometime now to get the soundstage. Am happy with my speakers.J Mohan Naidu 5
