This was my first turntable that wasn't an All-N-One and I truly love it.

I am not a rich man, maybe never will be, but I do have a LOT of records laying around now and my Audio Technica player totally crapped out on me a week before I ordered the Fluance turntable. In the beginning, my search for a turntable briefly landed me on Fluance's site, and many others, but I went with the LP120x with blue-tooth because I was... an idiot. I never used the BT connectivity, I never used the internal amp, and already owned an ART DJ PRE II phone pre-amp for an older but alas broken record player I had bought used for dirt cheap thinking I could get it working. Long story short, the Audio Technica's direct-drive motor burned out in 5 months for no reason. I really, really, really, didn't want to exchange it or go through tech support as I was never particularly happy with it, and always struggled to level the platter on a monthly basis. I had just bought a new microlinear stylus too, which I'll probably sell. In conclusion, the Fluance is great, I got it set up in less than 20 minutes. It didn't even need to be leveled, the stylus was in the right position in terms of overhang (i had a gauge laying around) and I had flawless record playback in less than a few minutes after that initial setup. The next objective is to replace the cartridge with an Nagaoka MP-110 and my poor mans decent entry-level record player will be complete. I don't really "listen" to records, I digitize them to listen to at work or on my desktop, with how much stuff I have and now that I have a vacuum cleaner machine as well- I'm in too deep to pull out of the hobby now.

I bought this turntable after watching a number of reviews on YouTube asserting that the Fluance RT-82 is the best bang-for-buck 'entry level' turntable out there. Now, I can't say I consider anything $300+ to be entry level, but I will say that this turntable has brought me more enjoyment in one week of ownership that I anticipated it ever would. The finish is beautiful, it functions flawlessly, produces crystal clear sound, and is simple (enough) to set up.Ultimately, I decided on the RT-82 over the 80 or 81 because it has adjustable feet for leveling, and a better motor/speed controller. The upgraded cartridge is a bonus as I'm quite sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. But, if one day I grow a curly enuogh mustache to become a true vinyl hipster, the RT-82 is a great platform for upgrading the cartridge in the future.I purchased it to play a rare recording from 1954 that I found in a record store in Brussels, Belgium. I enjoyed the experience so much that I promptly went to my local record store and purchased 10 more used albums to listen to. If you are on the fence about this turntable, I don't think you will be disappointed.
