I received a turntable damaged in shipping. Sean worked with me on getting a replacement quickly. New turntable sounds and looks great. Researched dozens of different tables and I'm happy I went with this one.
All I can say is WOW! It's beautiful. This piece of equipment does not present itself as a $300 turntable. It looks and feels like something much nicer. Comparing it directly with my Pro-Ject DC, since it's relatively in the same category, I can say unequivocally that the build quality on this thing is much nicer. Significantly nicer, actually. Not to say the Pro-Ject isn't nice, because of course it is. It's hard to do an A/B on sound since they are on different setups, and my DC has a 2M Blue and an acrylic platter and is on better equipment all-around, but this Fluance table presents itself stunningly.
My issue with the U-Turns and lower end Pro-Jects (Elemental or T1) is that they don't come with real counterweights. They're setup specifically for the cart that it comes with but if you ever want to upgrade it'll be a real pain on the ass the get the tracking force correct.
The RT-82 came with the Super OM10 cart, and it's playing beautifully. I'm sure the 2M Blue would trounce it, but all in due time. Super happy with my secondary rig. The movements of the table, from the tone arm action, cue lever, the lid hinges, speed control knob, etc. are all super smooth and tight. It also has auto-stop (not return) and an anti-skate dial as opposed to the fishing line and weight that the Pro-Ject comes with. Certainly pluses. The speed box and auto-stop feature really set this otherwise manual table apart from other manual tables at the same price point. All in all, out of the gate I would recommend this table anyone that is looking for a high-quality listening table but can't play with the big boys of the audiophile world. Either by choice or by responsibility! ; ) Spin on!
My first true turntable purchase. Before I had an all in one record player and fluance blows that out the water. Wonderful table and the customer service is top notch.
The RT82 is an excellent turntable. Well made and sounds great. I upgraded to the acrylic platter to add that little extra touch.
Though I've been listening to records for some years, this is my first legit turntable. Before I had an all-in-one with built in speakers along with a cd player. After some heavy research I decided to go with Fluance and I do not regret it one bit. Not only does the turntable sound wonderful paired with my floorstanding speakers but the customer service is outstanding. It was my first time so i had many questions and they were very helpful answering all my concerns about what i would need for setting up. For a bonus, the employee even gave me a discount code that saved me more than the 10% that I was going to use from the enrollment of their newsletter. I will definitely be doing business from here again!
I've been looking turntables for a while and always found myself back to the Fluance. I just love this turntable. It looks amazing, it's heavy, and the motor is so quiet. The Ortofon 10 needle sounds amazing to my ears. My vinyl from 40 years ago to current sound amazing on this turntable! I had a slight issue with lever to lower the needle onto the record, but their Customer Service helped me with it. Amazing product and Customer Service!
I have had this turntable for a few months and would say it is a wonderful piece of equipment. Works flawlessly and sounds great. Replaced a Technics SL23 turntable I purchased just out of college.
Great turntable; easy to set up and very stylish.
Sounds great with my novice setup.
the RT82 really hit the sweets spot for price vs. performance the stylus is the warmest of all the offerings.
I had been using my parents’ old 80s turntable for a while, but could tell it wasn’t doing a great job anymore. I’d had my eye on the RT82 for a while, and I jumped on it when the time and price was eight. Thankfully I did, because it’s just great. I’ll definitely be picking up my listening pace now that I have this guy. Great value and great quality through and through.
The RT82 is the real sweet spot. loads of features, and a amazing warm cartridge.
I decided to buy this turntable based on a review by CNET stating it was the best $300 turntable, and was even better than some turntables that cost more. I can say that my new turntable is beautiful and produces accurate sound. I can't complete my review, yet, because I am slowly rebuilding my system and the last thing will be new speakers that will allow me to really appreciate the turntable. I am also very impressed with their customer service. I contacted them twice during the setup of my turntable, and both times they were very helpful. I highly recommend this company and their products.
I have been dreaming of owning turntable for few years. And finally decide to get Fluance RT82 because of the upgrade path which what all I can ask as a novice.
The setup was easy to follow although I did few very stupid mistakes and panic when the turntable didn't spin when I turn it on for the first time and later figured that it was because of autostop feature. After all of the those and playing some old records its just a blast.
I would easily recommended RT82 to any novice like me. Its easy to setup, looks great, great reviews, perform as expected and most importantly the upgrade path is available when you wanna take it a notch or two.
Sorry for my language as English is not my first language.
When my B&O 4004 finally gave up the ghost, I went without listening to vinyl for a while. One day I decided to see what else was out there. A review from Cnet pointed me towards the Fluance RT82. I have not been disappointed. The sound is great. The setup was simple. The price is right.
I have been listening to my present stereo for almost 40 years now. Onkyo Integra integrated amp, ADS L810 series II speakers and a Dual 504 CS with an Ortofon VMS 20E Mk II. I know how everything sounds on this setup. I can honestly say that I don't hear any derogation of the sound going down to the Ortofon super OM10. My direct to disc Charlie Byrd and my Telarc digital copy of the Atlanta Symphony doing the Firebird Suite sounds as good on the OM10 as they do on the VMS 20E. Could be my 70 year old ears aren't as good as they once were but I am very pleased with my purchase.See all reviews
