All the positive reviews are right - this is a great turntable for $300.Tom C 5
In addition to what others have said, here are a few things that I like that I didn't necessarily expect:
- The ground works! I've had a problem with hum with a number of other turntables and thought it was something I just had to live with because of the old wiring in my house, but the RT82 is almost dead quiet once grounded to my amplifier.
- It came with higher quality connection cables than is usual - no need to upgrade.
- The feet have very fine threads - this makes leveling very easy and precise.
- Auto-stop is great. It does take about 30 seconds to kick in but that's much better than the alternative if you wander off.
- The flip side of auto-stop is that it is also auto-start. The motor starts spinning once you move the tonearm to the left. This doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere but I like it.
Overall no regrets about getting this and I can't imagine a better turntable at the price. It's definitely superior to the slightly more expensive one that it's replacing as well as a number of others I've had in the past.
From top to bottom, I couldn't be happier. The RT82 is what I was looking for, great looks, function and the sound from the OM 10 Cartridge is a pleasant surprise. Customer Service couldn't haven't been better. From pre-sale to making good on a return, changed the color, they were GREAT.Bob K 5
First off prior to a few weeks ago I never heard the word audiophile. I am not taking up the hobby.Tone Deaf Plus 5
I had a stereo system in school in the late 60's / early 70's and somewhere along the line it got
lost in the shuffle but I did keep my records. I am currently studying various record cleaning options
and this summer decided to get a new setup and it came down to Fluance vs U-Turn so I chose the
RT82 upgrade path. I already bought the acrylic platter and someday may upgrade the cartridge to Ortofon Blue
but a lot of my records are mono so I got a mono cartridge elsewhere otherwise I will just use the one that
came with it.
The turntable shipped from the Redmond Washington area to Ohio which worried me a bit but it arrived
very well packaged and looks beautiful. Everything that is supposed to be in the box was.
I was suprised the platter came from Buffalo and was here a day after I ordered it. It is VERY heavy
compared to the metal one that comes with the RT82. It is really cool looking, I am glad I got it.
It adds a lot of quality to the setup.
I am going to use a receiver with phono jacks. I don't really care to go the ampilfier/powered speaker route.
I can not tell you what it sounds like yet because it is still in box. I am not a sophisticated listener but I
like the reference concept after studying it. I just want to crank some tunes and party.
I did read all the the reviews and watched every online video I could find and the feedback is overwhelmingly
positive so it should sound ok for my purposes.
My RT-82 arrived very quickly after I ordered it and it's absolutely beautiful. The white gloves for putting it together was a nice touch! The performance is better than expected and It's brought new life to my vinyl collection and I couldn't be happier.Andrew F 5
I'm a dj but wanted a turntable for just enjoying music so I went with Fluance. Reviews were great, I liked what I saw and it's a Canadian company! So far it's been great. Just make sure you set it up correctly and you're good to go. I may upgrade in the future... But I kind of doubt it. It sounds great and it's only my beat up records that are the problemTim K 5
Purchased this as a second table for a smaller system. It was easy to assemble. However the queuing lever was lifting the arm way to high and the arm would sit on the que arm-rest and NOT track at more than .9 g. I had to learn how to adjust the set-screw and fiddle with the arm rest to get the table to track at 2 g. Seems to work well now even with a different cartridge and head-shell.Johnny V. 3
I am in love with this turn table, amp and speakers i purchased from Fluance. Could not be happier.Matt W 5
The Fluance turntable is an outstanding audiophile product. It is very well made and a beautiful turntable to listen to as well as look at. I chose the RT82 I order to use my own cartridge and it has never sounded better.John T. 5
Works perfectly. Easy to setup and solid sound. Quality turntable. Thank you!Matt B 5
Easy setup, great sound and nice design. Upgradable so can be made even better.Matt B 5
Very happy with the turntable! I love absolutely everything about it. Setup was very easy.Joel C 5
It was my granddaughter who got me back into vinyl. I gifted her my old Marantz turntable, then decided to try something new. The Fluance RT82 fit my budget, and sounds better than any vinyl spinner I have ever listened to. Depth and detail shine on every track.Mark J. 5
The turntable was easy to assemble & it worked like charm with no distortion, no hums with the proper connections, even with the default RCA cables (sounded better with Audioquest Forest RCA between the turntable and the preamp)Andrés O 5
I'm a beginner vinyl hobbyist, so there's not much weight to my thoughts here. But I will say the assembly of the RT82 was simple and straightforward thanks to the helpful videos. I know the sound quality is also as good as the lowest-quality piece of equipment in your setup, and my preamp and amplifier are not exactly what I'd call top of the line. My speakers, while the most expensive speakers I've ever owned, are still considered entry-level. However, I have never had music sound so good as I do now. I feel like I can hear what material the instruments are made of.Bob W 5
The turntable itself has a premium feel in its operation. I love how it looks in my setup. Even my kids are using it competently like little audiophiles. Very happy overall with the purchase and would highly recommend for anyone entering into the hobby.
Great table overall. Had a small issue with a crooked head shell that was quickly solved. Brent from customer support was super helpful and quick to send me a new one.See all reviews Pedro 5
