I love this turntable. It sounds great paired with my pluto preamp. The sound is very natural overall. I upgraded the platter to the available acrylic which didn't do much in terms of sound quality but it looks great.

It has been a lot of years since I owned a turntable, but l spent many hours online looking and learning about the choices. Although I didn’t know anything about the Fluance RT 84, I kept coming back to it. Although this unit was a step above what I needed or wanted to spend, I took the plunge. Boy am I glad I did. Friends only compliment the looks and it performs even better than I had hoped. I just love everything about it and don’t have a single knock on it. If the RT84 is in your budget, buy it. Compromise elsewhere.

I love this turn table. Very easy to operate. Plus the seller must have made a mistake on the price. The RT84 sells for $450.00 and I bought mine for $350.00. Gotta love that. Fluance makes a very good turn table. Go to you tube and do your home work. For the price you cant beat it for quality, sound and ease of use. You will not go wrong with this turn table. I cant say enough about this turn table.

I bought this turn table as a gift for my boyfriend, he was thrilled to open it. We have it hooked up to his Klipsch table top speaker. We are both novice users but it sounds great, was relatively easy to set up, and looks beautiful in his media center. There was a slight bend in the rubber mat when we opened it which was the only disappointment. I probably would have gone with the acrylic disk if I were to purchase again.

Sounds 10x better than my last record player.

Excellent product !!! love it

Best table turner in the market !!!

I bought this turntable and immediately upgraded it to an RT-85 with the purchase of the acryllic platter. I am not kidding when I say this turntable with the Ortofon Blue cartridge is as good or better than turntables twice or even three times the price. I mean it. The soundstage, the absolute quiet, the channel separation, and the bass and high frequencies are just outstanding, not to mention the overall quality of the product. Honestly, I do not know how they do it. I have listened to many, many so-called high end turntables with excellent cartridges, and really this is all you need.

I love this TT. Got it on sale for $379 and It is worth double the price. In an age of compressed lifeless music this TT brings depth and nuance back to music that you can feel in your soul.

Very quiet. The Ortofon 2M has a better high end than my previous AT cartridge and seems to track well on the few warped discs I've tried. I decided it was time for a new turntable when I realized I hadn't bought one since about 1964 when I saved up all my paper route money to buy an Acoustic Research :-)

What can I say about this record player, absolutely think this was a wise purchase. The setup was pretty easy and the sound quality is amazing. Would defiantly suggest this player to anyone looking to upgrade.

I spent a bunch of time looking for the best record player to dip my toes into vinyl. I would consider the Fluance line (basically any model, RT82 and above) the best place to start. I picked it because they're upgradable and was originally going to go with the RT83, but the 84 happened to be on sale for a few bucks more. The platter works, the tone arm seems to be well made with good materials, the cover is really easy to install and the whole thing is pretty plug and play. There are three legs on the bottom, instead of four - which actually makes it easier to get the thing level since you're not fighting with two legs on either side. The whole thing is well constructed and looks nice enough.I also considered some of the Audio Technica options and U-turn's turntables. Both of those options also looked great, but something about the design and finish of the RT84 fit me a little better. I can't speak to the sound compared to other record players since this is my first, but after spinning the first few LP's I was grinning ear to ear and super happy with my purchase.I was happy enough to come write my first Amazon review after 10-odd years of buying crap on here. Only I didn't come write the review because that was about 6 weeks ago. It wasn't until I had a small issue swapping out my needle (just to try something different) and I asked a question on the Fluance website. It wasn't much, but they responded quickly and gave me a bunch of info about different needle compatibility. The point at which the company, their product and their customer service were all awesome led me to actually write this.If you're looking for a record player you won't regret buying this.

Pros: easy to setup, great servo motor, sounds great, easy to useCons: dust cover prone to scratches (better off not using it). lacks adjustability (no vta on headshell and can't adjust tonearm height). also I'd prefer if these came without a cartridge so you can add your own.I don't think the ortofon 2m is a great match for this table. I recommend to get this table on sale and sell the cartridge at which point the table should cost around $180. Then add a Nagaoka MP-110 or Denon DL-110. IMO this is a more cost effective way to get great sound. I do wish the arm and headshell were more adjustable and higher quality. But these are worth getting on sale, for what you get. If you change headshells you can get vta adjustment, but you may have to use shims to get the height correct.
